my sgs3 has an sd card (external), so every time I falsh I download rom+gapps on external memory and do a clean install, formating everyhting on internal memory, from CWM.
but how should I clean install/flash roms on devices that does not have external sd card like N7, N5, Htc one ect?
thanks
You can use adb sideload if your recovery supports it (I believe both twrp and cwm do). Here's a little guide for twrp http://teamw.in/ADBSideload . You need to have adb installed on your computer which you can get using the android sdk.

Well flashed Open Desire 1.4a via ROM Manager after I had rooted, my SD card was working fine, however after flashing, my SD card no longer works in either the phone or on my PC.
Is there any way I can get it working again as it has my backups on it, which I need.
Thanks
Nikumba
what does disk manager show on the PC? could just be a corrupted partition or something maybe? or an inactive partition
I want to format my internal Sd card so that flashing roms becomes less buggy. I use the newest CWM recovery. What steps do i need to take to format internal sd but still able to flash a zip from CWM recovery. Thanks everyone

same as any other clear....make sure u move your cwm backup folder over, any other personal files pics vids etc and obviously the zip/rom to micro sd external storage
if wrong neone pls feel free to correct me
I rooted and unlocked my device using Freegee and installed TWRP 2.6.3.0.then i copied the rom zip to external sd card and booted in to recovery.then i advanced format to format everything including internal storage, now i don't have any rom and TWRP is not showing my external sd card which still has rom file.
I inserted that sd card in to my another phone(HTC explorer) and and booted in to TWRP recovery and there recovery detects my card but not when i insert it in to OGP.
Now i don't have any ROM ,please somebody tell me how to mount SDcard or how to push file to the internal storage.
thank you.
EDITk fixed.moved file to internal using ADB and it worked.still i don't understand why it won't detect my external SD card.thank you.

I'm having the same issue, too. I just installed TWRP thru FreeGee...waiting for fix on this issue myself.
selling my G3, first formatted my 32GB external SD card (to Fat32), and then went into TWRP 2.8.6.0 to do a factory reset.
then removed the external SD and copied the CloudyRom.zip on it.
when i boot back into TWRP, i can see my internal SD card is wiped as needed, but TWRP won't recognise my external SD with the rom zip i need to flash.
how do i get TWRP to recognise my external SD or how do i get cloudyrom back on the phone again..#
any help is much appreciated!
Been long time since I messed with my tablet the sd card reader is broken inside. Have twrp recovery but no back up. Can I flash stock update in twrp or roms
Yes, flash from internal memory is possible.
