I'm pretty positive of the answer ,just wanting conformation. When I see a post referring to GB28,this is a JellyBean kernel correct? If so are there any available with CWM ,or is Agat's the only option?
Thanks.

GB28 is the Virgin Mobile Jelly Bean kernel. garwynn's v0.4.1 kernel has CWM, tho I don't know why it matters as they do the exact same thing.

Placement of some things are different, but as far as performance... Exactly the same.
yeap exactly  .....+ i do not think garwynn's recovery GB28 kernel is around anymore...

It isn't as far as I can tell. Found the GB28 with agat's. But regardless it didn't work for me.
Sent from my SCH-R760X using xda app-developers app
What do you mean "didn't work"? You know that you can use GB27 kernels as well right? Try Agat's kernel in Original Development. It won't effect your signal or anything.
Yeah my bad details! Flashed SPH-D710MUB-GB28-1014481-KERNEL using Odin 3.07. Phone rebooted fine with triangle (of course) booted into recovery and it was stock.
Yeah the GB27 is the way I rooted my phone.
I've actually tried to build my own from source, I get errors that I can't resolve. I've searched Google/xda.
Tried repacking, my initramfs is to large to do so.

This is the best one out there IMO-http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244781
Thanks I'll give it a try. Any known way of removing the triangle other than triangle-away?
It doesn't work on my model.

Try a different port, different version of Odin or a different computer. And post in the right section especially if you know better.

By the way, I have tried a ton of roms, all the same problem goes to cache.rfs then fails on write

Try removing your sim and SD card. And this needs to be in the general section for the vibrant, not the development section for the galaxy s2...

Try to check repartition in Odin and see what happens. BTW you can receive more help in the Vibrant threads.

Ever try Cm9? or Aokp? I'm pretty sure the reason why that thumbnail image is there is due to touchwiz.
No.... I used caulks ROM for a while then just been using the tar files to avoid bricking. I'll wait for someone to confirm those have it before I switch. I have this fd26 set up nicely. Won't change without confirmation.

I have been running Alpha 3 for two days now. Seems pretty stable. The wifi/signal bar go's white sometimes. I don't really understand why but it bothers me a little.
Aokp milestone 5 w/ tablet UI has similar looking screens as far as I can tell
Hey just had two small questions about this phone...idk how long ago they have been asked because I'm on the xda app but I have been holding on rooting this phone because of the imei issue and the low data speeds on AOSP roms, and tripping the flash counter when installing recovery via odin.. But mainly the imei is a main concern. Can anyone tell me if these are still issues going on? And if the imei is still an issue how reliable is backing it up and restoring? I'm not new to rooting by any means but being a nursing student I'm far to busy to go through and research everything for this phone thanks

I would like to help, but I'm far too busy.
Oooo ur pretty cleaver :thumbup::thumbup:

There's a tool to backup your imei but I haven't lost mine yet going back and forth from aosp and tw roms. There's also a way to root and install cwr without tripping flash counter. It's all in the dev section
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Yea I just read the no tripping flash counter method and it seems simple enough I just hope I still have adb up and running that IMEI issue kind of sketches me out but whatever ill probly just go for it... Also are the data speeds on the AOSP roms still slow? I haven't heard anything about recently
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Don't do it you'll brick your phone and have to throw it away.
Yea you are right... I hear there is a chance the phone can catch on fire... God the Internet sucks:banghead:

I haven't had that issue. My fastest times were on aokp when I went into the city.....

Why take it in? You can use Odin to manually flash stock FI27 if you really want it. Stock as in unrooted- you'll just have to find the .tar file in the dev forum. You'll prolly lose your apps/data but thats not a big deal. This is most likely exactly what the sprint employees will do for you (including the data loss part)
I thought only the .zip was available...perhaps I'll poke around when I get home.

Fi27 Stock, unrooted, one click, no data file can be found in Rwilco12's repository.
Here's the link.

So my headline says it all! I need help my phone has done this for the past couple of days and I need help. So my phone is telling me I'm getting 5/6 bars of 3g and 4g in my house, but when I actually get into an app that requires data then the apps won't work and are saying "no data/Internet connection please try again when you have a data/internet connection" the only app that will work is Pandora Internet Radio. Any help will be very appreciated!! Thanks again in advanced!

Update you're prl/profile....Prl first..then profile...phone will reboot. Just a thought.
Also..I'm not sure how you rooted, but if you have a custom recovery..wipe cache and dalvik cache..This step isn't a must, just never a bad idea.
