I can not for the life of me get Odin past cache.rfs, I have searched and tried everything I have read, stayed
up till 5am, nothing seems to work. Any ideas you could through at me would be great.

Try a different port, different version of Odin or a different computer. And post in the right section especially if you know better.

Try removing your sim and SD card. And this needs to be in the general section for the vibrant, not the development section for the galaxy s2...

Try to check repartition in Odin and see what happens. BTW you can receive more help in the Vibrant threads.

Yea, I might just root and flash CM10. I just wanted to stay away from the flashing game, did it on my G1 and SGS1.

Because reading the stickies is too difficult.

I'm running xquizit v20 jb.. Pretty damn solid so far.. I would recommend that for now.

Losing 3g service..

Flashed a ROM,and can't get 3g service now,have tried 3-4 different ROMs.. with no change.. isn't there a number I can put in to get the data connection revised..

I did a google search and came up with a thousand dif things to which none worked..and if you read.the other thread I still had service it was 1x. But.still something.. now I have no service.. and your post I was first # I tried no good.. so yeah I figured maybe someone could help me figure out what is going on... somebody said it might be antenna.. my phone did get real hot earlier, taking it.to sprint tommorow..thanx to everybody for your help.. it is greatly appreciated, think this phone is on its way out..

I suggest reading it.
The last page has how I fixed this when it happened to me.
You need a tw ROM installed if you don't already and you need your msl.

I need some help with data

So my headline says it all! I need help my phone has done this for the past couple of days and I need help. So my phone is telling me I'm getting 5/6 bars of 3g and 4g in my house, but when I actually get into an app that requires data then the apps won't work and are saying "no data/Internet connection please try again when you have a data/internet connection" the only app that will work is Pandora Internet Radio. Any help will be very appreciated!! Thanks again in advanced!

Which rom? Is sprint updating your area? I just had this happen. It was on sprints end. Its fixed now.

Umm I'm on ROM: Stock Rooted GB27 Modem: GB27
They updated a few weeks ago My dad has this phone and it's not having any problems. Some of my friends have this phone to and they don't have this problem.

Update you're prl/profile....Prl first..then profile...phone will reboot. Just a thought.
Also..I'm not sure how you rooted,but if you have a custom recovery..wipe cache and dalvik cache..This step isn't a must, just never a bad idea.

[Kernel] (GB28)

I'm pretty positive of the answer ,just wanting conformation. When I see a post referring to GB28,this is a JellyBean kernel correct? If so are there any available with CWM ,or is Agat's the only option?

GB28 is the Virgin Mobile Jelly Bean kernel. garwynn's v0.4.1 kernel has CWM, tho I don't know why it matters as they do the exact same thing.

my phone carrier is virgin mobile i used both .......cwm and GB28 and really did not see any difference only different one blue n the other green

It isn't as far as I can tell. Found the GB28 with agat's. But regardless it didn't work for me.

What do you mean "didn't work"? You know that you can use GB27 kernels as well right? Try Agat's kernel in Original Development. It won't effect your signal or anything.

Yeah my bad details! Flashed SPH-D710MUB-GB28-1014481-KERNEL using Odin 3.07. Phone rebooted fine with triangle (of course) booted into recovery and it was stock.
Yeah the GB27 is the way I rooted my phone.
I've actually tried to build my own from source, I get errors that I can't resolve. I've searched Google/xda.
Tried repacking, my initramfs is to large to do so.
