Your Mobile
Odin Flashable Packages ( Get Here, Thanxx to Doky )
ROM with Custom kernel
Time and Brains (Some lack both )
Installation Guide :
1.Download The ODIN flashable Packages from the given Link above
2.You will find 3 files after extracting the zip package
3.You will only need the PDA_S5360.tar.md5
4.Rename it by removing the .md5 extension
5.Now open PDA_S5360.tar using winRAR
6.You will find a Boot.img in the .tar file
7.Copy it to the folder containing the ROM with a custom kernel ( Like Neoxblack )
8.Delete the boot.img from the ROM and replace it with the extracted one from the PDA file
9.Now Download The CREED ROM 3.5 ( LINK )
10.Copy the Modified Neoxblack Rom and Creed Rom to your galaxy Y's SDCARD
11.Now first flash Neoxblack ROM after which Flash CREED 3.5 ROM
12.Reboot and wait
VOILA AND YOUR DEVICE HAS BEEN REVIVED FROM A BRICK
And never Screw Up your DEVICE like this again
Press the Thanxx Button

lol.. this is nonsense.. you cant revive your sgy using your phone if you got bricked.. bricked phones cant enter recovery mode, so how can they flash a rom..

Firstly this thread should have been in general section.
Secondly there are a hell lot of guides of unbricking.
Thirdly the second method can work only if you have a boot loop coz if bricked the phone can enter only download mode it cannot enter recovery mode. Even to fix a boot loop there is no need of doing so many steps.
||""Playing Asphaltâ„¢ 8 Airborne on my sgy. LoLz.
Joke of the year. Gameloft devs will die if they hear this. ""||

Impossible to enter in recovery mode. bootloop can't do anything except download mode..

if you cannot enter recovery mode its impossible without a pc - you must flash stock rom via odin
remove any usb drivers you have and follow the steps on my firmware thread - if your pc doesnt recognise your phones its either
1- you havent installed the usb drivers correctly
2- you are using front usb ports on a pc instead of rear ones
3- you havent pushed vol up after connecting the usb cable in download mode
4- faulty usb cable
5-faulty usb port
6-user error
this guide is also not very helpful as you dont need to do all them steps as some people have already explained in the thread

Your phone is only hard bricked if you can't enter download mode
If you can't enter download mode you will either need to JTAG flash or replace the motherboard and JTAG flash - a JTAG costs about £200 (UK pounds) so pointless buying one so take to repair shop - however might as well buy a new phone
If you can get into download mode then just flash stock rom via Odin - see my firmware thread at top of dev section or link in signature

It works, Finally my phone revive for long time. yipee

Guide for Flashing Stock ROM On Galaxy Y GT-S5360

Hai Friends this is BlackPearl Junior Member and here i am going to share a bit of information I Know.
Flashing the Galaxy Y using Odin back to its Stock ROM
Important Notice
*******************
*Do it on your own Risk.Me or the Devs of the linked pages below are not responsible for any mistakes you commit
and damage you bear to you device
Requirements
*****************
*First Download your Requred Stock ROM based on your country from the below link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800
*Secondly you should have ODIN Get it from the below link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35934961#post35934961
*Kies must be installed in you PC then only you can get the connectivity driver for your device
*Then what your samsung galaxy y and its data cable to connect with your PC
Steps
********
*Close Kies and better terminate it by CTRL+ALT+DEL and opening Taskmanager>>Processes>>KiesPDLR>>rightclick>>EndProcessTree
*Open ODIN in your PC
*Select the necessary files to PIT, BOOTLOADER, PDA,PHONE (MODEM) and CSC.
*Check Re-partition, AutoReboot and F.Reset Time.
(Only for flashing Stock ROM completely.For Flashing baseband and CSC alone you dont need to repartition)
*Dont Connect your Device Now.
*First Switch off you Device
Recommended
you can even select "Reboot in Download Mode" from the Boot menu of your Custom ROM
But this method is not quite advice-able coz some custom rom doesn't allow to boot in download mode so switch off do it manually
*Now turn on you device in Download mode
Do this by simply pressing the Volume Down+Power Button+Home Button simultaneously
till you see a warning
*Press Volume Up to continue to Download Mode
*After seeing Downloading connect the Data Cable to the Device
*See the ODIN on Your PC
*You will see the port number highlighted in yellow colour if your device is connected properly
*Now select Start and dont disturb both the device and your PC.
*After you see PASS in ODIN your device reboots and do a small installation in recovery mode and then it reboots automatically you have to do nothing.
*After you see that your Device is booting you can disconnect your device.
Thats it you had flashed the Device with Stock Rom which you can even update using Kies.
Hit thanks if you find useful

How to unlock bootloader on Note 2

Hi there,
This may seem like a daft question but i have just rooted my Note 2 using Odin and i went ahead and installed CWM from the play store.
However, i don't seem to have the option of making a backup of my current ROM.
All it gives me is (in blue)
reboot system now
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
apply update from cache.
This worked on my HTC One X, am i doing something wrong? My Note 2 was purchased as SIM free from phones4u.
I'm on android version 4.1.2, baseband version N7100XXDLK7, BUILD NO. JZO54K.N7100XXDMB2., MODEL NO. GT-N7100.
Could my bootloader still be locked? Is this causing the issue?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Just flash CWM/TWRP recovery.
Here is one of it
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2028103
Loading default android recovery even though TWRP successfully installed
Hi,
I am not sure if I should've started a separate thread for this, please move this if this has to be a separate thread but I've mentioned below why I am posting here.
My phone Galaxy note 2 International version GSM is rooted and I installed TWRP through Goomanager and I got a message stating that "Recovery was successfully installed". After this I shut down the phone and pressed Volume up + Home + Power to go into recovery mode and it still goes into the Android default recovery mode. I tried installing it again and still faced the same issue.
Since I was having a problem, I thought I will install TWRP through Odim 3.7. So, I connect PC to my phone and downloaded the openrecovery-twrp-2.3.1.1-n7100.img.tar.md5 and opened Odim in administrator mode and clicked on PDA >> Start. Within a second I got an error stating "odin downloader has stopped working". I went to task manager and shut down Samsung KIES and tried again but still got the same error.
Next, I tried using the Samsung Note 2 Toolkit. Before I installed TWRP through option 5 in the toolkit, I wanted to Rename Recovery Restore files (if present) as suggested by the toolkit. When I chose this option, I get an error stating adbd cannot run as root in production builds. When I googled this error, it went to a post which said that the bootloader needs to be unlocked.
But then the previous post says that I need TWRP for unlocking the bootloader and I'm doing all this to first of all install TWRP.
Apart from this, as additional Info, when I open ROM Manager - Under Recovery Setup - Current Recovery is Team Win Recovery Project. When I choose to reboot in Recovery mode from the application, it goes to the Android System Recovery. No matter what I do, TWRP recovery just does not seem to open up.
I'm pretty clueless now as to what other options I have or if I have messed up somewhere
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you
its already unlocked :good:

Hi yahyoh -
The problem as I've described in my post is that I am unable to go into TWRP Recovery mode, I've installed the scripts using goomanager several times but when I shut down the phone and press volume up + Home + Power, it goes to Android Recovery mode and not the TWRP Recovery mode.

Yahyoh,
Thank you for your response but if you see my original post, I have mentioned that I had already tried Odin 3.7 and put my phone in download mode and got the blue color showing ID: COM but when I pressed start, Odin gave an error stating odin downloader has stopped working and the only dialog box was to close. So, once I press START, I get a error message in a second and have to shut down. I did make sure that I have the correct tar version as I downloaded from TWRP's website directly for N7100. I did make sure that Kies was also closed.
After this I tried using Toolkit and that didn't help as well. Kinda going crazy why such a simple thing is getting to become a irritating problem, been sitting on this for the past 4 hours.

I have tried downloading odin 4 or 5 times. The cable I have is brand new samsung cable. Right now, I dont have another pc but might have to go to a friends and try if that helps. I do have a mac but not sure if there is mac version of odin. I'm attaching a picture of what I see when I press volume up + home+power.

Hi,
1. Check that USB drivers are properly installed.
2. Your USB cable is proper and allows you to charge your phone as well as copy data from your PC.
3. Change USB port and try again. (This has worked in my case)

Usb drivers are installed properly. PC reads the phone as soon as itd connected. Tried three different usb ports that is available in my laptop. The phone does get charged when it's connected and I'm able to transfer data. Only thing left to try is a different pc.
Since ur already rooted, y not flash via mobile odin app? Untar to internal storage and rename the twrp image to recovery.img (btw theres a newer v2.5.0.2) and let mobile odin look for it.
Or u can dump the image directly to ur recovery partition using terminal apps:
Code:
su;
dd if=/storage/sdcard0/recovery.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p9 bs=4096;
sleep 5;
reboot;

Hi Nazar78,
Mobile odin app is not free, it needs to be purchased. I already have the twrp image in the internal storage and was looking around if there was a free version of mobile odin app somewhere but couldn't find it.
I do not know how to use terminal apps and not familiar with the commands etc. So didn't wanna try that and mess it up. As a temporary solution I have installed CWM latest version using Rom manager but TWRP would be much better as it seems to be more user friendly.
If you could tell me how to enter this terminal apps page, I will probably follow the codes you have given and see if that helps.
Thanks
just install Android Terminal : https://play.google.com/store/apps/...251bGwsMSwxLDEsImphY2twYWwuYW5kcm9pZHRlcm0iXQ..
then type via keyboard what @Nazar78 wrote in the terminal
Just download any free terminal emulator app from play store and enter those commands per line each.
Btw u mentioned previously about adbd can't run on prod builds, its because the adbd binary in ur rom is stock, u need a patched one. Look for app called adbd insecure by CF. Or any custom builds should do the trick...
To flash recovery, tou need not to have paid version of mobile odin
Wait updating this post with link
Edit : here is mobile odin lite
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1347899
Download attached mobile odin lite from post 1
Then download flasher kernel from post 7
(download 5.0 versiin) and install
Then open mobile odin Select recovery tab, point to recovery file (tar/img) and flash

Thank you
Thanks Nazar78, Yahoyoh and Ketan, It's about 1:30am now, so I'm gonna shut down now and try these tomorrow. WIll get back with updates. Appreciate.
Also if you have installed EMET, a Microsoft software to stop security exploits, disable it.
It's cause me issues in the past.
I've also seen reports of people not having odin running properly when the kies process runs in the background. This was always the case when flashing with the Galaxy s, and might be a rare occurance with the note 2 too.

As preivious thread which was made by sayannayas that was flooded so freshing the whole section into one thread with updated insecure boot.img and with flashing updated stock rom.
original thread:- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2333647
before starting 1st read this:- i'm not responsible if any damage is done to your device.also if you flash your device using reasearch downloader then you will bump your imei(**you can revert your imei back which is given in this tutorial).
rooting section:-
1)First Unlock the Boot IMG
(download section)
as previous boot.img were v4 this is v5 (**fixed auto off)
download insecure boot.img from here :- http://www.mediafire.com/download/yakdfcry7z2j1jc/insecure_boot_img_for_v5.rar

(things which you needed)
1.windows XP (ps- for all drivers compatibilty) ( strongly suggested)
or
windows 7(currently not working)
**(note- you will this things...1.driver enforcement overridder for turn on test mood 2. you have to run reasearch downloader in admin mood)
or
you can use virtual box too to run windows xp
4. in device manager you need -ABD interface,two COM ports,two emulators
**(note-If any of this having yellow sign it will not work).
Ok now take a long breath beacuase you have to flash with your phone with a stock rom and modified boot.img for rooting.
Open research download
1.click on first button and load pac file
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

4.plugin the usb cable(DON'T plugin the phone now)
5.click on play button
6.PRESS & HOLD VOLUME UP KEY and insert the usb cable,don't release the key.
Download should starts within 3 secs.If it doesn't then check the drivers carefully or reply to this thread with failures.
Once done unplug your phone and remove battery for 3 second.
7.Reinsert battery and restart your phone.
YES!! you have successfully unlocked the boot.img
2)installing cwm(optional-not required in rooting)
**(note you cant do full backup using cwm i will tell you after sometime how to do that)
1.Download .andriod.zip,extract it and save it under C:\Users\<computer name>\<paste it here>
http://www.mediafire.com/?4xs85rxq8478vm4
2.From your phone got to application-->developer option-->enable usb debugging
3.Now plugin your phone through micro usb cable.
4.Download this zip ,extract and place "platform-tools" folder inside under c:/<paste it here>
http://www.mediafire.com/?5w9n01y735xsqwt

and palce it under c:/platform-tools
5.Open a command prompt type
Code:
cd C:\platform-tools
C:\platform-tools>fastboot devices
20080823 fastboot
Note:you will NOT be able to proceed further if this doesnt shows up.Double check the andriod.zip has adb_usb.ini file.
Now we will flash a custom recovery image in fastboot mode.REMEMBER,PROBABILITY OF BRICKING IS MINIMUM AS I HAVE ALREADY DONE ALL THE TEST FOR YOU GUYS !!!.STILL IF ANYTHING GOES WRONG DONT PANIC,JUST FLASH A FIRMWARE AS MENTIONED ABOVE(point 1) EVENIF YOUR PHONE IS TOTALLY DEAD .
Code:
C:\Android Multi tool>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (10240 KB)...
OKAY [ 10.487s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 3.425s]
finished. total time: 13.918s
7.Reboot your phone.
8.to go to cwm Open a command prompt type
Code:
cd C:\Android Multi tool
C:\Android Multi tool>adb reboot recoverey
**(note-you cant go cwm uding vol+power button in this v5 rom i dont know but hardware mapping button seems not working with cwm)
3)rooting
there is two way of rooting 1st way you can simply find from here :- http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=42926184#post42926184
and the 2nd way starts from here
download this tool(unlock root):- http://www.mediafire.com/download/54iee9z75y9qu4a/Unlockroot.rar
1.make sure you turned on usb debbuging and as well unknown source
2.connect usb cable via mass storage

A small request to all of you guys
just one request to all of you guys...please don't quote the OP.If you want to quote something from the OP,then keep only that line in QUOTE braces.Quoting an OP is not a good practice,it unnecessary elongates the post and causes unnecessary load to the server ,not to mention makes monitoring the posts difficult. Lets not make this post have the same faith like the post from which it got inspiration.

[Guide][Marshmallow] Android 6.0 official update for Micromax Canvas A1 (AQ4501)

Update: SPFlashTool flashable Marshmallow firmware file is now available. Build MOB30N.
OTA links are already there on xda, but here was no specific thread for Canvas A1 so i am writing one
Google has released the OTA files for Canvas A1 and other android one devices.
NOTE: To update your phone using OTA files your phone should be running Stock lollipop or atleast stock recovery. (Not applicable if using sp flash tool)
If you are running a custom rom or custom recovery then before proceeding to this guide you must revert back to stock lollipop using sp flash tool
Pre-requisites: 1.Your phone should be atleast 60% charged
2. Back up all important data (just to be safe)
Canvas A1 users can easily update their device by following method(s)
Method 1 (the usual method):
Step 1: Download the official Marshmallow OTA file from here https://android.googleapis.com/packages/ota/google_aq4501sprout_aq4501/dc78fbefaf5f69cc4754751251d9ece094bc96e6.signed-sprout-mmx-MRA58M-from-LMY48M.zip
Step 2: Connect your smartphone to computer using the original USB cable.
Step 3: Copy and paste the OTA zip files to phone's storage and make a note of its location.
Step 4: Boot your smartphone into recovery mode or stock recovery: Disconnect the phone from computer, and then turn it off.
Press and hold both the Volume and the Power buttons until the display turns on and enters bootloader mode.
Hit the volume button to open the Recovery menu and then press the power button to select it. Your phone should now boot into recovery mode.
At this moment, a dead Android with an exclamation mark should appear on the screen. Now press and hold Power button for three seconds and then hit the Volume up button once to progress into recovery mode.
Step 5: Return to the main recovery screen and choose 'install update from sdcard'.
Step 6: Then select the OTA zip file using the volume buttons for navigation and the Power button to select any file or open a folder. After you select the zip file, confirm its installation and the update should start installing on your device.
Step 7: Once the installation is done, return to main screen of recovery. Choose Reboot system now to restart the phone and boot into the newly installed Android 6.0 Marshmallow OTA update from Google.
Voila!! You are running official Android 6.0 :laugh:
Method 2 (using sp flash tool, best method)
This method can be used even if you are running a custom rom. You can also use this method to unbrick Micromax Canvas A1.
Pre-requisites: Windows computer, USB cable, and most important "patience".
Step 1:
a) Download micromax driver.{thanks to @mohsin.r.munshi}
Extract its content, you will find an .exe file inside a folder "driver9401". Disable your antivirus and run the .exe file as administrator. (If you are using 64-bit windows, you will need to "disable driver signature enforcement". Google it)
b) Download SP Flash tool from my mediafire or from its official website. Extract it to any folder
c) Download SPflashTool flashable Marshmallow firmware . Extract the zip file. You will see the following files in it (similar not exact)
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Note the location of MT6582_Android_scatter.txt file
Step2: Goto the folder where you have extracted sp flash tool. Run flash_tool.exe
Step 3: In sp flash tool, Click on "scatter loading". Then locate and select "MT6582_Android_scatter.txt". SP Flash tool will load all firmware files from the folder where you have extracted the OTA files.
Step 4: Power off your phone. And REMOVE the battery. Now on SP flash tool, click on "Download".
(refer to screenshots given on this website. Ignore the steps given on this website, just refer screenshots)
Step 5: (pay attention to every word) Connect USB cable to your phone only. Then Press and HOLD volume down button and insert the other end of USB cable to your pc. Flashing will start automatically. Wait till you see "OK" message on your pc.
Step 6: Once you see "OK" message, disconnect your phone and reinsert your phone's battery. Turn ON your phone. The first boot will take longer than usual.
Congo! You just updated/unbricked your Micromax Canvas A1.
Feel free to post comments for any doubts and errors

flash official lollipop rom using method 2 above
Hi.. I'm on CM13 now. But I don't have mobile data for some reason. So I want to flash stock ROM. But last time I tried flashing stock, it wiped my IMEI numbers. Luckily my warranty status was somehow reset. So I had to get the phone replaced. Does this have a chance to cause the same problem (wipe my IMEI numbers)??

In that case, i would suggest you to take a backup of your imei data using MTK Droid tool. Also copy your nvram folder straight from your phone to as many external storages as you can. Nvram (imei data) somehow becomes unrecognised after downgrading some phones.
Solution:
1. Use MTK droid tool to restore it from a previous backup.
or
2. locate nvram folder ( /data/nvram, correct me if i m wrong) DELETE it. Then paste a copy of your nvram folder that you copied when imei was not lost. DONT chmod. You will most probably get your network working (ensure that sim card was PRSENT and Radios were ON during this copy paste) within few seconds. I did this to restore imei on galaxy s4.
well, i have flashed 9 different mediatek phones using spflashtool, didnt lose imei in any.

Thanks! I'll post an update when I come around to flashing the stock ROM. Don't have the time now.
hi can i use these update for micromax unite2(8gb) from lolipop to marshmallow.
Firmwares are device specific. You CANNOT install a this on any other phone. You will brick your phone by installing a ROM which is not made for your device
Please update stock marshmallow link sir as soon as possible
.......
Thanks in advance
Micromax android one got hang at marshmallow logo.
My micromax android one got stuck at marshmallow logo. I tried to flash lollipop using SP flash as mention above in method 2. I connect my phone . My phone is successfully detected by my PC. But SP flash show no progress. why??? I follow all steps very carefully. Or is it not possible to install lollipop if your phone already has marshmallow?

That means your phone was not detected. Power off your phone. Load scatter file and then click on download button on so flashtool. Put one end of USB cable to your phone. Hold volume down and simultaneously put other end of USB cable to computer. If its connected, the progress bar at bottom will show progress. I am assuming you have installed all drivers.
I hope this helps.

Step 1:
a) Download micromax driver.{thanks to @mohsin.r.munshi}
Extract it to any folder
c) Extract the the contents of factory image. [Edit: sp flashtool flashable Android 6.0 is currently not available. I 'll add a link as soon as it is available. I wrote this too early, sorry. For now, if you are running a custom rom, flash official lollipop first and then use method 1 to update to marshmallow.].You will see the following files in it.
Note the location of MT6582_Android_scatter.txt

I can help you if you provide me more details.
Which phone model you were dealing with? Which rom it it was running before? What were you exactly trying to achieve? Also if possible post the log files here.
