Hello,
Im wondering if any active developers are left that will be working on a KitKat ROM for the Desire Z. Not looking for a ETA or anything, just asking if someone is interested.
Android 4.3 isn't even ready for public testing so perhaps we have to wait for KitKat a long time.
Anyway - is it true that Android 4.4 provides better support for older devices?

Support no. It just says APIs for low end RAM devices such as smartwatches and smartwear in general.
Would love this
Im hoping/waiting for this too. I feel like the Desire Z or G2 as it was called in the UK is still the best designed phone out there with a real keyboard and a lot of people like myself are still using it for this reason. When i heard about KitKat providing for low end devices, a light bulb went off for me. Still no word yet tho

i really hope there is some developer with htc desire Z and working on porting kitkat 4.4 . i would love to try it
For those still curious. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2527197
CM10.2 and 11 progress. CM10.2 isn't that bad to use, there's still some quirks here and there. The kitkat rom is nowhere near stable for a daily driver, I wouldn't even recommend using it for more than like a few hours just to mess around on, but it's at least been somewhat ported showing promise.

Honestly I'd recommend for a daily driver sticking with cm10.1 for the time being if you want a stock android experience, there's still things that need to be worked out for both of the roms

I upgraded from (I think) Flinny's CM 10.1 to CyanKat, and it works well on first boot, but any subsequent reboots either bootloop or freeze at the loading animation (and the screen slowly fades...?). I'm going to try it again once there's another release.
Hopefully KitKat will run smoothly once they sort out the major bugs.
based on how the nexus s overreact on android 4.3.x i dont think the g2 is stable past 4.0 ics based on battery and how smooth it was. htc g2 downfall began at 4.1 os and continue when it come fully smooth os.

Overview
This is another Chinese firmware called 'Color OS' and generally ships on Oppo devices. It is not a "slight mod" but is more of a complete ROM similar to MIUI / Lewa and it has it's own unique feel.
Bugs
almost no
Instructions for Use
1. Download the ROM.
2. Copy the file to your internal or external SD Card
3. Reboot into recovery and perform a nandroid backup (or your backup of choice)
4. In recovery, wipe data (perform a full wipe)
5. Browse to where you saved the files and Install the ROM
6. Reboot your phone & enjoy it!

First of thanks for this new rom, but i have a couple of questions. Does this rom come without google play services or what, because i don't see any google apps in the rom itself and you dont say that we need to flash Gapps. So what is it, can we flash Gapps with this rom or not. And what is difference between yor rom the (Color Os V2.0 and ) and this other rom for One X that has Color Os V3.0, does that mean your rom is based on the older version of Color Os, and is this rom based on CM rom or Sense based rom. Sorry for all those questions, but your information about the rom is really scarce.

Well that is something i wanted to ask OP my self, but i do see some difference in the rom itself, i would even say it's slightly better than 3.0 one, and it's somewhat better looking too, and i really like some new additions to the rom. But i still like it though it's just to bad it's still based on JB 4.2.2, but then again even the Oppo Find 7 / 7a is still on JB 4.3. There is one bug that is present in both roms, and that is that hardware buttons backlight flickers when making screen selections, and the charging the phone from 15% to the 100% can take a while, at least on the first charge. It's good rom despite all that, and i really hope it won't be abandoned so soon like all the other Color OS roms were. Good luck OP :good:

It's not about believing, its about what's out as info. We had 2.0 thread and this one is the second....therefore useless. It's just a placeholder for a rom without development !
Why do we have this in the original dev section
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568090
And the so called 2.0 here !
It has no point ! But don't worry i already talked about this with some moderators some time ago......

This is how it was on 4.4 with 12b radios (VZW) back then, I was running Mahdi (before the 26A/12B bootstack was perfected with KK radios), and would have random reboots / SOD at the same point of my commute every day.

Reboots are a totally different monster.
The only time I experience these are at work, and that's zero to very low signal. Any other time it doesn't happen, even in an area where I lose signal.
Its nothing close to what 4.2 based 4.4 used to be. The kernel has been cleaned up way to much to make that association.

Wow i might have to give this rom a go this weekend. Looks awesome with material black theme.
Really liking this ROM so far. Can't wait to see what the future brings.
Very nice job on this ROM.
Just to confirm, you need SElinux changed to permissive to use Viper right? That was the only way to get it working natively. I also disabled Audiofx.

Great ROM... Running great on d800!
Hello guys
My girlfriend has a s4 mini, stock rom. Her warranty and phone insurance lasts only some more month. After this period I'd like to upgrade her phone to a lollipop rom (or marshmallow eventually, but it's a bit early for that ) Since I own a m8 myself, I can't test all roms here, so I hope you can help me.
I'm searching for a 5.0.1 / 5.1 near stock rom (touchwiz or stock android) wich is easy to use by someone having nothing to do with custom roms/root/modding or never ever heard words like "bootloop" or sth like that
I need no root or xposed framework or such stuff, just a way to get the phone to lollipop.
So please recommed some roms and discuss!
Thanks in advance!
Yeah! Me too!
Need stock Android Lollipop (a la Moto xt-1032) for my GT-i9195L.
Intall the latest snapshot! Its based on 5.1.1 and its pretty stable. The link is for the international LTE model "serranoltexx". You didn't specified which s4 mini model your girlfriend have, so i assumed is the LTE. I was running that snapshot in the past (now i moved on cm13) and was stable enough to be my daily driver! :good:

Thanks for your reply I don't no yet, either. but I assume it's the LTE version, but I'll verify that.
It will take some time until I take action, but I will report my success here

I know the question is about LP ROM, and indeed on LP I found exodus better than CM12.1. But I am now on CM13 (latest nightly) and works even better, no issues at all, so I would recommend it as daily ROM (I have not tried AICP or other CM13 based ROMs)
I came from stock (i9195 LTE) and flashed many CM12 nightlies over the last year (only had a few reboots). Now I'm currently on the latest CM12.1 snapshot (YOG7) it is very stable and has never crashed (installed it shortly after release). However several apps kept crashing in the first few weeks, notably Google Play Services, I put this down to me having done a dirty flash. I cleared cache on affected apps then tried cache & data if still crashing. It fixed a couple but not Play Services & a couple of other apps. After a couple of weeks I was just about to reflash a clean install of a nightly build when it seemed to fix itself. I haven't had any issues in over two months. Only thing I can think of was Play Services updated and fixed it.
I recently installed CM11 on my wifes old NOTE as she'd finally had enough of it's slowness (it has a dodgy emmc chip that does not trim so gets slower and slower) and the fact I had to update apps as it was always out of memory and she couldn't do it. She is a complete technophobe, she was very happy with the sudden improvment in speed but grumbled a bit about the different interface however within a couple of days she was up to speed & loving CM!

PS. Also flashed the latest COL2 baseband (modem)
---------- Post added 11th February 2016 at 12:32 AM ---------- Previous post was 10th February 2016 at 11:36 PM ----------
You might even want to use this ROM as it's got newer security fixes & many updates (so should???might be more stable) since the last snapshot

Updating as promised.
I bit the bullet, took my chance, and installed CM 12.1 yog7 on my 3 year old Samsung Galaxy S4 mini (gt-i9195L) and I finally and thankfully have lollipop 5.1 on it.
Losses or cons?
Minimal:
- No panoramic photos w/stock camera
- Google clock crashes every few hours, though the analog clock widget does work.
- Some sensors don't work anymore

they did previously.
- Cannot disable or remove the file manager or camera in favor of aftermarket solution, have to make do with two (stock CM and aftermaket coexisting).
- I miss the cool piano sound when powering up my phone, when the Samsung logo swirled in [emoji1]
- I don't currently care for it, but I see a yellow lettered message upon booting:
Warranty Bit: kernel; but since my phone is three years old, I don't care [emoji55] .
In all, with the small cons, I am glad to have changed factory TouchWiz for CM 12.1 and I appreciate the tip given by Charlie, the cons don't weight anything compared to all I have gained by switching.
CM 12.1 is my daily driver.

Let's get straight to the CPU problem.
This is a kernel problem and not from the ROM itself.
I have that too.
With the Elite kernel @ Nightmare running 2 kernels normal but the other two still run on full throttle.
more important question for me is what Source Code are they using?
It seems to be from the "official" unofficial cyanogen mod forums...

High there, how's it going? I don't have much time to get on xda as I should but I'll run builds as things get sorted.
One thing to note is the trees have forced encryption by default... I don't like encryption so my builds have it set as decryptable (no encryption by default).
BTW the kernel is based on N HTC source on newest build and boots on both M & N firmware (but as we know no twrp on N firmware yet)

Have the rom installed. Have to say it's spot on, few quibbles. But excellent, I knocked the cpu down in performance and I've had decent battery life.. Any reason why this hasn't been put up in the rom section yet?

Also thank you for the works already done, it is appreciated.. Sorry this is probably the wrong place for thanks.
Media sound still does not work.
just found something, the cpu issue only came about for me after updating my firmware from 1.85 to 1.95. can anyone with s-off confirm?
[edit]
also, trying out building myself, no clue how this will turn out, but it will certainly be an alternative and i guess we can see what works where
Firmware is with me the same and the bug is gone.

Wow another great work :fingers-crossed:
Mobile data not available. If that could be repaired, rom looks promising
Updated to V3
Mobile data and brightness both are very important in a daily driver.... The brightness bug ruined miui pie rom port too ... otherwise it's an amazing rom ... Hope to get them fixed
In version 3 the mobile data is working. Only bug left is brightness
Dev is doing great im sure he's going to fix brightness and other bugs in v4
Eagerly waiting for v4
But my question is can i not flash it over zui 4 twrp ??

The brightness is a bit low (taskerm is already configured, you can use it), if you think the brightness is too high, you can modify the value inside, 255 is the highest.
Currently only the above bugs.

Hey dev do we still need brightness workaround or it normally works now????
And link isn't working
I tried this ROM yesterday.... Almost everything was working with some little bugs but it was really smooth and nice.... The only problem was Google apps.... I tried to make them run but failed...
I also installed Google services ..it installed but still gapps Don't work....
I also tried to force push Google services in system but for some reason we can't even write into system ....
Gapps are major issue and draw back ...if you can live with it... The ROM is for you

Bhai can you please suggest me a stable rom for daily driver. I can't test each and every ROM.
As I am really busy and using zuk as primary device and also i am living 1000km away from home so can't afford a dead phone at this moment.
I am willing to flash a ROM after 5 months because the phone is performing really bad, and in the case i want some help can i pm you because i don't want to spam any thread with nood questions
Thanks ? users like you keep these forums alive
