yup. shouldn't take long for the CyanogenMod Team to come up with CM11 or whatever it is now.

IF only the Nexus 5 would support sprint... lol looks like my amazing Optimus G will be around.
Even if we never get 4.4 I don't see a reason why our device would become outdated.
Who ever sees slowdowns on our device? Anyone ever see issues that would mean you have to have 4.4? My device seems just fine for me even if we don't get the official 4.4.. I am happy with my device..
The nexus 5 does support sprint! It was confirmed today!

Exactly, who cares about new phones or more cores? I love this phone, if I brake it, I would get the same again, This is enough power by far, the only thing that I have interest (And maybe others) is new features in the OS, nothing more

Yep, those at&t peeps usually get the good stuff first.
Guys, look at the link for the ATT one again.... It's for the Sprint version too. I just flashed it and it's up and running on my phone. Just make sure you follow the instructions.
Here is the link again: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2509457
Edit: While the ROM is flashed and running just fine, I can't seem to figure out how to connect to Sprint's network. He said you might have to fix your APNs or something so I'm going to try to pull the APNs.xml from another ROM and replace the one that comes standard. I'll let y'all know how it goes.

Holy shiiiitttttt. You're crazy, man! I would never think to do that, lol I'm scared. How is KK, though?
And you probably won't get data on that ROM, ever, because its for GSM. It would take a lot more than just an APN swap to get it working.

WiFi was working just fine. The camera looks exactly the same as 4.3 to me. I didn't do a whole lot of testing because I needed to get my service back, so I'm currently LGNPSTing back to stock. Feel free to try it if you like, but you'll have to LGNPST to get your service back. And if it bricks your device you can't blame me.
I'll just be patient and wait for a Sprint release or go get a Nexus 5... Haven't decided yet.

I've got the Canadian version, and other than bloat apps and some carrier settings are they not the same phones for the most part? I might be talking out of my ass here, but should the devs not have too much trouble porting a custom Rom from one variant to the others.
Also, it really hasn't even been two weeks since the phone hit the market and it is already unlocked. I am making the assumption that all the variants will be getting some custom Rom love pretty soon. I'm sure it takes a bit of time.

Hey, I was wondering if anyone was interested in porting over the blackberry 10 lockscreen.
It looks great, and I think is the perfect lockscreen to use with the PGM Touch Control mod that's now available for the N4.
Here are the two original threads which contain info about the lockscreen and how to port it.
I don't really know how to do this stuff but if anyone else is interested it would be great for the rest of us :victory:

Have you tried flashing the Galaxy Nexus MOD? I personally find that most flashable zips of any nexus, whether it be GNex, Nexus 7 or 10, many times work on our nexus 4..

For those of you trying to flash this on your N4, remove the assert script from the updater-script and it should flash fine.
I'm on PA 2.99 but I could flash stock and test it out.
Isn't there a way to get one zip working on all aosp roms and maybe one for CM. I think that's how most mods work but I don't really know the technicalities of it all so don't shoot me.

What bad reputation? Other variants of the optimus g have jellybean already and the att version has been successfully converted to a nexus 4. The only issue we are facing is how sprint has theirs set up. Has nothing to do with LG. Lg pretty much has jellybean for our phone completed. Just waiting for sprint to do their thing and release it OTA. This phone is by far the closest you will get to a nexus device without actually being a nexus and even then give it a few months and you can slap a nexus sticker on it and I swear you won't notice a difference.

Only the Korean version has JB. ATT is running a port of Korean version. Also, I guess you haven't heard some of the things the devs said about LG. Their code is all jacked up and how this is pretty much a beta phone they released. The devs are having so much problems due to the poor code by LG.
LG has reputation of not supporting their devices with software updates and it's showing.

At least the att version can run that. Also nexus 4 conversation. Enough said
But give it some time. They will figure it out and work around the crazy code or fix it. This is a brand new phone. Has barely been out a few months. Miracles don't happen over night. Wait till we get jellybean official. The phone will explode with ROMs and devs. Right now its not important to mess with ICS too much with jellybean just right around the corner. Your referring to them trying to port jellybean to this phone from ICS and Koreans jellybean. 4.1 to 4.2 will also be a smooth transition once 4.1 is out from lg.

Just a little update I have been using the latest official cm11 nightlies for a couple weeks and I have found no bugs with them as long as you use pa gapps they don't break the 13mp camera like regular gapps do

been using CM11 m2 and m3 snapshots with no problems
Interesting that I still don't see a listing on Cyanogenmod for the ls970 when AT&T has theirs listed. I can't believe they sold that many more lgog's than sprint.
I have two phones that I updated to Cyanogenmod CM11 snapshots that are working great so far.
Don't see any real problems with any of the apps or features, but I am not a beta tester. I am using these as my everyday phones and they work as expected.
Held my breath when I rooted/unlocked and installed the new rom's since they were mine and my wife's phones. I did this because I was so pissed LG dropped support for the phone upgrades. Such a good phone to be left at 4.1.2.
Anyone that has an LGOG's on sprint should not have a problem as long as they follow the instructions on rooting and unlocking. Can't say anything about insurance and warranty, though. I found it easier to buy a used phone when one of my other phones lost its screen. Insurance is a racket and is cheaper to just get a used on ebay.
Gave a new lease on life to my phone.
We've all heard rumors that LG is testing the KitKat update on the G and G2, and rumors that AT&T might be getting it on their models... but those are just rumors unfortunately. Nothing's happened so far.

If you guys haven't lurking around the variants of the LGOG threads, it looks like @chadouming is working on Omni 4.4 ROM for the LS970. He already got it to work for the GEEB variants (e970, e971 e973, etc..). So lets keep our fingers crossed and hope the process doesn't see any obstacles...By the way don't forget check out the thread and thank/donate to @chadouming for his awesome work so far!

Thanks for the visibility. I indeed intend to make ls970 and E975 device tree for Omni soon (Tonight probably). However, little precision, i'm not accepting donation. I will open a thread once the work is completed.

Super exited!
This will be the first time that I'm willing to use a ROM that is not stock on my OG :fingers-crossed:

Wonderful, those issues don't look to be too major so we should be seeing the ROM soon. Thanks for the find.. (I tried to quote you but the XDA app keeps FC'ing) I'd give it a shot but I just installed Droidmk's slimbean and am trying to give it a shot. How do you like kitkat?

Weird, geehrc is actually the official name for this device, while I've only seen Chad and houstonn refer to it as geespr, lol. I'd love to try it, but SlimBean is way too good right now, lol. I'll wait for some of the bugs to get squashed first, though!
Edit: nope, its actually geehrc4g!

I also feel weird about the recovery having MAKO in the file name. Does this mean we're flashing an N4-based recovery, and is it mandatory for the ROM flash? Or can we use 2.5.0.0? That's what I've been using for quite a while now, with no desire to upgrade.

So after doing some researching, I ended up flashing the Mako recovery before flashing anything else, rebooted into the new recovery and wiped everything there. Flashed ROM and gapps, and everything booted up. 4.4 was soooooooo smooth. It's like being on JB but way less resource-intensive. You could actually feel that it's lighter on your system. But, I had to go back to Slim. There's the problem with data not coming back after switching from wifi I tried turning on/off airplane mode, calling voicemail, and rebooting. All lead to nothing. :/ But for the little bit that I did play with it, it was AMAZING, and actually quite stable in most other areas. 4.4 is definitely a game changer. Thanks Chad!

Hey someone knows what I like lol I'm flattered I've been stalking this thread waiting for this as I'm sure everyone else has lol. My MHL addiction has broke my flashaholic addiction so its tempting to try this since I'm a flashaholic deep down. I might break down and try this and YES I will try my beloved MHL lol
idk how i got here...
Omni ROM is up!!!
