You need to flash Fix-recovery.zip after flashing custom recovery so that it doesn't keep reverting to the stock one and to give it permissions to alter your system when you flash ROMs.
Take appropriate .tar file recovery (for 4.2.2) to be flashed from odin from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315529
Then follow this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46395577&postcount=19

Stuck on TWRP first screen

Hi
I wanted for testing a personal theme on TWRP Recovery but I have a serious problem: I have a bootloop on the main blue screen.
I tried to force a reboot holding Power button, to go to download mode and restart... nothing works!
What can I do? Flash TWRP again? Factory firmware with PIT file?
The problem is a file called "ui.zip" in the folder /sdcard/TWRP/theme
Thanks!!!
EDIT
I can flash the PhilZ recovery from Odin to solve my problem I think.
EDIT2
Solved via PhilZ Recovery (flash with PC Odin)
That happened to me long time ago .. I re-flashed the recovery via Odin with latest TWRP and its all good..

This doesn't wipe the theme folder right? So the bootloop should be there again.
Anyway everything got back to normal thanks to PhilZ tar file.

Booting Clockworkmod Recovery

I used odin to install CWM recovery on SGH-T999 4.1.2 . Then rooted the phone. I also installed Rom Manager with the latest CWM Recovery. I can not get into CWM recovery from either Rom Manager or using the Home/VU/Power buttons combo. It always goes to the Android System Recovery. But if I odin again with no Flags, and pull battery after odin , then I can get into it once by Home/VU/Power. Looks like after 1st boot the other recovery takes over.
I tried removing Rom Manager and installing it , but it did not help. Attahced is the picture of the phone when booting into other Recovery.
Thank you in advance for your help.

I found the fix, when booting in CWM recovery the first time, you have to select YES to over ride the Stock recovery.

While flashing a recovery for the first time over stock, you need to uncheck the Auto-reboot option and directly boot into the recovery from Download mode.Once you are in the recovery, flash Fix-Recovery.zip to give CWM proper permissions, then your recovery wont revert to stock Samsung recovery on each boot.
You only have to do it once you are on an untouched firmware, you can update and switch recoveries without worrying about it again.
Fix-Recovery: View attachment Fix-Recovery.zip
Take the 4.2.2 recovery tar file from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2315529
Here is a step by step thing I posted for one of the users once if you still have trouble with it : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=46395577&postcount=19

FAST SOLUTION ! :good:
THANKS MATE ^_^

[Q] My T110 won't boot after installing CWM

So I followed the instructions from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2674649 to install CWM and it went fine but when I got out of the CWM recovery menu and rebooted it just rebooted back into the recovery.
Then I guessed it was fine because I was going to install this rom anyway so I followed the instructions and did a factory reset and then tried to install the rom from the zip.
But then the installer failed saying "format() expects 5 args, got 4 - Installation aborted" and I'm stuck with just the recovery menu.
Does anybody know how to bring it back to life?
Here you will find the solution for your problem.

Thank you so much. This post should be mentioned in the troubleshooting or something I guess it's not that uncommon
EDIT: The ROM flashed correctly but it still loops into the recovery

one question, have you install the quick boot app?
I think the onlyest way for you is flash the stock rom with Odin.
full reboot
flash the recovery with Odin, after flash boot with the button comby into recovery and flash the superSu.zip from chainfire
reboot your tab
open SuperSu.app and you have got root
Dont install the Quick boot app !!!!!
That was the way what works for me.

I don't know what the quick boot app is so I guess I don't have it.
How do I flash a rom with odin and where do I get the superSu.zip from?
Solved
Okay I solved it.
I flashed the stock rom from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2780068 (the full version no the lite)
using Philz Touch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50922322&postcount=4
And then I just rebooted the system and it took a long while but it finally went past the welcome logo and started fine

[Q] CWM Recovery not permanent

I was trying to install CWM recovery on this phone , I used Odin to flash recovery . I flashed recovery then removed battery and then booted to recovery then CWM loaded but as soon as I restarted the phone and again tried opening recovery phone took me to stock recovery , how can I solve this? I am running 4.2.2 firmware . And also I tried flashing CM11 with this temporary CWM but package installation stopped because of a error (status 7) saying some problem with partition , I was not rooted at the time . Is root needed to flash CM11 ?

1. Once u boot into CWM recovery flash SuperSU (If u don't have get it from here). This will ensure that the recovery doesn't revert back to stock.
2. Status 7 error has various reasons. Ensure that u r using most latest recovery and perform clean install.

First of all root your device.
Secondly install philz recovery using odin.
Then flash your desired ROM
(i suggest you aogp dual sim).
PM me if you need any help.
All the best

emmc is a partition i believe, if you see such errors, recheck if you are using the correct recovery... I flashed my tablet with wrong recovery and it wiped out all my partitions. It's as good as a brick now if not worse.
