My s4 is rooted and I want to update to 4.3 when it comes out in a few weeks. I'm only rooted with no custom rom. I only rooted for ad block..so how will this work? Will I have to unroot before OTA?
Usually root only is fine but I wouldn't be so quick to update to 4.3 if it does come out.
???
Really why not? How come it says my phone has been modified..
You cant ota rooted, but honestly you don't want to ota 4.3 unless you want to be stuck with it for a while. Knox is included and it makes things a bit complicated. Just wait for someone to make a Knox free 4.3 rom probably come out the same day as the ota

I think we will need to unroot, then do the update via ota.

Hey Guys,
Just heard that the update is coming to canada on Wednesday. Will I need to unroot my note 2 for the update to work? Can I use CF method to re root again once the update has completed?

As long as you have stock recovery you are good. However after the update you may loose root, and your device status may say modified unless you factory reset.

Ota would not work this morning. It downloaded and attempted to install but once the phine rebooted it said firmware failed to install.

Remove root.
Then install update.
Reapply root.
I'd recommend a custom rom. You get so much more. And it's been multi Window 4.1.2 since October.

Hello!
I have the tmobile note 2. When I updated to 4.3 last year, I rooted my phone and VOIDED my Samsung Knox void thing. I really don't understand what this means so I haven't attempted to go back to 4.3. I have tried once before to OTA up to 4.3 from 4.1.2 but because my device was "modified", it does not allow me. I am currently on 4.4.2 Omnirom.
Is there any way I can upgrade to 4.3? Can I just find a 4.3 tar file and just upgrade to 4.3 using odin but wouldn't that fail due to the Samsung Knox Void?
Thank you in advance.
If you want your phone to be rooted just flash mrrobinsons 4.3 stock ROM.
There won't be any issues or interruptions by KNOX.

Hi I have a Rooted Tmobile USA N3 - MI7 rooted via Root de la Vega, how do I update to stock 4.4.2? The OTA does not work obviously. Any ideas and using the stock recovery but did not work either. Ideally like to keep Knox at 0.
Thanks
JS

Not yet I'm sure in a couple of days a new method will appear to root. ...I updated with no problems through kies..I love the new changes but I hate not being able to customize anything. ...

Its no errors, it just informs you that your device has been tripped.. Functions don't change at all
