My GN2 previously displayed text messages on the screen of my Ford Edge with SYNC. It has stopped displaying texts and says the device isn't supported. I've unpaired, repaired, renamed the GN2 without success. Have any GN2 & Ford SYNC owners ran into this issue? Or anyone have any ideas to share?
Really appreciate the help.

I have tried installing multiple ROMs in order to fix the situation.
apparently there is a recall for the SYNC system, I am going in to have in looked into, I'm hoping that this is the cause of the issue.

Yea....in dash system software is almost always half-assed in cars. It is pretty damn pitiful when your phone is listed as "compatible" and of 150+ features, less than 1/3 are known to work. Moreover it is quite common for the systems across make/model.

Anyone else having this problem?
I cleaned up my contact list, which seems to be the issue i read on another website, and flashed Skyraider rom to my phone. noticed i wasn't getting msg, so i went back to stock, same issue.
I can get msg both ways from my pc, or other programs, which makes it that much more weird.
Just wondering if any of your guys had this issue, and if so, how did you resolve?

Have you cleared the data and cache in the application settings? I've seen odd issues happen with Gmail that are fixed by doing that after installing different ROMs.

Issue with Google. check below for more info if your effected by this issue.

It seems that my phone is sending ~90 text messages a night to one of my contacts, but they aren't showing up in my sent messages (stock messaging app or Handcent), or listed in my usage when I check my plan online. When my friend called his carrier, they said that one of the phones must have a virus. He doesn't have a smart phone, so I'm guessing that my phone is the one with the problem. No one else has mentioned this to me, but it's happened two nights in a row now.
Has anyone heard of this happening? I'm running CM Nightly #32, but nothing too fancy other than that. I'm going to try a full wipe and reinstall, but I wanted to tap into the knowledge here and see if anyone knows what this is and how to stop it.
weird. what does it say in his smses?
Check all of your applications that have permission to send SMS messages. One of them may be nefarious.
I've had this happen with nokia dumbphones before. Where are the two of you located? it seems to happen a lot in Europe. I was living in Poland for a few years, and I often had random or 10x copied messages from people. It was usually a network thing, and nobody was ever charged for it, even when an international SMS was delivered tons of times.
We're both in Philadelphia (US), he's on Verizon and I'm on T-mo. His phone is older and dumb, but not a Nokia, I don't think.
Am I right that if I had picked up some kind of virus other people would be receiving hundreds of texts, too?
In any case, I think that the full wipe has taken care of it. I am still interested in finding out what exactly happened, if anyone has any more ideas.
Just recently my phone is getting hung up when trying to download my e-mail. It can't log on, then it won't disconnect. I've tried a hard reset and still no luck. I'm connecting to a g-mail account. I've been running the same ROM for over a yr and haven't had any issues until just this week. Any one else out there have an issue with this?
Looks like this is a Google problem. They're researching it. Read about it here.
The word is if you disable automatic send/receive and manual download instead, it should work.
However, I'm in the process of trying this now, and it's doing the same thing.
thanks, I just set-up a yahoo account and it's working good. Guess I'll push my e-mail that way until they get it figured out.

"Word" isn't entirely correct... my phone still hangs at login stage even after a hard reboot. Switching to POP access from IMAP looks more promising.
Neither worked for me, so if it works for you, you're one step ahead.
A fix for another problem seems to have fixed the problem for those who started experiencing the hanging since May 19th.
Google is still in the process of confirming whether this fix is officially *the* fix for mobile Gmail.
I can confirm on my phone that Gmail (at least manual send/receive) is now working again. I just switched back to automatic send/receive to see if that works as well.
Hi do not know if these were witnessed feel that your phone so me and my other friends was what happened to us

It would be my guess we all experienced the same thing... someone at gmail goofed. Wasn't limited to any one device or carrier. They seem to have fixed it now, mine's been working fine since the day after my last post.
Searching the internet I found something on a topic also called the sleep of death occurred only for the HTC Touch Pro 2 which had the Windows Mobile 6.5 version will leave the link in case you want to see.

Context:
Verizon Galaxy Nexus, Stock ROM, Android 4.1.1.
When I check in Settings...Accounts...Google...
It shows a Sync Error for my account. At the bottom of the screen it says:
Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back shortly.
If I then click on my [email protected]
All of the entries are checked and properly synced, and up to date, except Contacts. It says 'Last Synced 4/20/2012..."
Despite this, Contact additions or edits that I make on my phone do in fact get synced to my other devices. And Contact additions or edits that I make elsewhere do get synced to my phone.
So, this appears to be a faulty error message. Since everything is working right, I'm reluctant to do anything major to try and clear the message, for fear of actually creating a functional problem. And yet, it bugs me that it's there.
One of the frequently suggested solutions is to go to Settings...Apps...Contacts Storage...
And once there, hit "Clear Data".
So my question is what exactly happens when "Clear Data" is hit? I want to eliminate the potential for inadvertently deleting my contacts overall, don't want to create new problems, etc., so would like a little more information about what this does or doesn't do.
And, if someone has any insight on another way to get rid of this message, that would be appreciated as well.
Thanks!
Anybody have any information here??
Thanks.
Try this
Hi, i face the same problem. After few hrs search in Internet, I found a way to solve it, so far it works.
Go to Google Play and install this apps: Contacts Sync Fix
Run the apps
Go to setting, open Google account and try to sync again.
It should be OK then.
Hope it helps.

Very interesting! Looks like it just came out this month. This is an incredibly common problem, if you read Google's "support" forums, which I find hard to believe how this is such a core function of the whole Google enterprise.
I wonder what this App is doing behind the scenes, or actually how it does it. All of the reviews so far are very positive, although there are only 11 of them at this time. I'll probably monitor this for a bit, and then try it out.
Thanks!
I exchanged a quick email with the Author, and went ahead and installed and ran the Contacts Sync Fix App. It identified a single problem, fixed it, and my error message is now gone, and sync continues to work fine. I went ahead and bought the ad-free version for $.99 - I have no idea if a problem will recur in the future, but I'll now be able to fix it. And besides, he fixed something Google has been unable or unwilling to do!
This solved my same problem

Hey everyone, has anyone else been having issues with Gmail notifications not working when the phone is locked or asleep. The notifications come in a few moments after I turn on the phone, but they don't come in when the phone is asleep. I checked every setting and it seems like it might be a hardware or software issue with the Note 4 that is preventing the notifications to come in during sleep. Anyone have any ideas as to how I can fix this. This was never an issue with my Note 3 and I matched every setting to it and it all seems to be the same.

yes way beyond baisic stuff
Update, i called samsung and had them create a ticket, the rep said they have not heard of this issue at all. Long story short if they come up with a fix it will be after 5.1.1 which carriers like ATT have not pushed out and that means it could be a year or longer before it is resolved. They do not work directly with end customers so we are out of luck basically. Frankly for me this is deal breaker and I might be returning my phone and going back to blackberry.
