I ran my battery all the way down last night. Left the phone on the wall charger overnight and it is not responsive. Tried to turn it on using all combinations of powers button and volume buttons. When the phone is connected to a pc it doesn't recognize it. But when I try to power the phone on while connected, the pc makes the sounds indicating something is connected.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Leave is connected to a powered PC port for a couple hours. Not sure why but I've had luck bringing devices back from beneath the cutoff voltage level using low amperage charging. Heck my best recovery charging port has been the USB port on my cable box.

Make sure you are using the original power adapter.

Thanks for the replies. I am using the OEM cable. I've tried putting it on power using the wall charger. I've also tried using a PC. I've tried the bright light trick. I've tried pressing both volume buttons, one volume button, the other volume button. I've tried power button by itself. I think I've pretty much bricked my phone. I'm willing to listen to other suggestions

Must be that time of the month.. this happened to me last night.
Left the house around 90%, phone was getting pretty hot.. So I rebooted, twice.. still hot.. so I turned it off for 15 minutes. It was still pretty warm after that, but I decided to turn it on again. When it came up, I was at 18%!. So I sent a couple of texts, and just turned it off thinking I would be able to turn it on later. No such luck. OEM charger does nothing, I plugged into laptop for 20 minutes, nothing.. So I left it on the charger overnight. I still have nothing this morning. Going to leave it on a PC USB port for awhile and see what happens..
Is there an official process for getting your phone back up??
I'm rooted, unlocked, s-off.. so I'm worried if I go to Verizon (it's only been 50 days), they'll discover that if they get my phone back up.
Left mine on the charger over night and held the power down as I took it off the charger seemed to do the trick.

Hello!
I dropped my LGOG E975 and the screen has cracked. The upper half would still work. But i could not turn the phone off. So i let the battery run dry. When i came back from vacation, approx. a month after, i sent it in to change the screen. It got changed, but now it has another problem:
It wont turn on! At the store they said they could not get the phone to boot. I took it to a charger and while holding the volumebuttons it showed the LG logo for a second, then blinked red a couple of times. This happend twice. Now if i hold the power button for 15 seconds and plug it in, it will quickly blink a red light.
What to do? I suspect it's something with the software.
FIY i unlocket the bootloader, rooted and installed a recovery. Dont remember which one tho'.
Update:
I can now enter fastboot or download mode. But the phone wont be found by kdz. flashers.
Try to access recovery from the fastboot screen, pushing 2 times volume down then power.

The phone turn black, blink red once and thats it.
As a sidenote, i can only put it in fastboot or downloadmode after i hold the powerbutton a while before plugging it in. Else the red LED wont blink.
I have no idea then
Have you tried to put it in fastboot without plugging it in? Volume down + Power button when the phone is off.

No response from the phone. Can it be a batteryproblem since the red LED flashes shortly when plugged in and entering fastboot/download mode or trying to open the recovery?
Maybe. Leave it charging for a while and try again.
My father always lets his phone die out of battery and he leaves it off for a while like that. When trying to power it back on, or when plugging it to the charger, the led flashes just like you described. It's not an OG, but it may be something similar what's happening to you, since you said you left it for quite some time turned off.
Okay, i will try to leave it over night. It will sit in the charger for 6 hours before my next check.
Try to upgrade/recovery with LG support tool in download mode

It would still not turn on. Tried multiple chargers and leaving the phone in for a long time. I got a new battery on the way.
Sometimes it helps to hold the power button a bit longer.

I held the powerbutton down for multiple minutes. Still no response. I ordered a new battery from Ebay. Hoping this would fix the issue. The battery have a expected delivery this week. Will update the thread with the results.
Hope it works :good:

I tried everything. Really. Every possible combination of buttons, chargers and cables. The phone would only give a response when plugging it in. So i expect it to be a charging problem with the current battery.

what was the outcome with the new battery?
im an currently experiencing an issue that sounds much the same as this, difference is that i was using the teenybin software and the HS shutdown halfway through the update, and now will not do a thing other than blink the RED LED when i hold the power button down whilst pugged into charger
also to mention, the battery life on the HS prior to this was reasonable..
Flashed Lifeless last night. Everything was working fine, left the phone charging at 10% then today I wake up to a dead phone. Wont charge, wont boot. Only sign of life is holding the power button down for like 20 sec and the battery LED will turn on for like 20 sec but only if its plugged in. What gives? Anyone have any idea what might be going on?
Plug into a 2 amp charger or do a battery pull.

Same thing has happened to me! I have done a battery pull as well with no avail. I am using a 1.2 A charger, the one that came with my phone and still nothing. I can get the red light as well but nothing else. I have pronounced the Phone as DEAD and have already bought a new phone(funds are tight so it was a was crappy situation). If ANYONE has a real working solution to this PLEASE tell us!(I'd greatly appreciate it)

Similar situation
I'm on stock but had the same problem. Phone totally discharged, plugged it into my car charger, phone got hot by camera but did not charge. Got home plugged it into stock charger, same thing. Battery charging on screen, phone hot, then dim light on screen. tried for a day or so, no luck.
Tried holding power button for 20-30 seconds, nothing, Vol up and down + power, nothing. By accident held power and vol up and charging light came on, held it for a minute, and it stayed on, let go, out it went. As a last resort, put two rubber bands around the phone to hold in power and Vol up and bingo! Charging light stayed on! left it overnight and found the phone completely charged in the AM, green light flashing. Been working fine for days, Willnot let it get too low of a charge in the future.
First thing is first, I have been searching here and Google and have not found this exact problem.
I am running cm-11-20140719-NIGHTLY currently
Today my phone turned off on its own while connected to a car charger.
Here is what it is doing.
When the battery is connected the phone turns on and gets to the Samsung logo, then it goes black. No back light, nothing. If I pull the battery and re-insert it, it happens again. Once it goes black none of the buttons seem to be responsive (cannot force a reboot by holding the power button). Once it goes black if I connect it to a charger I get no LED indicating charge level.
If I try to boot into recovery I see the blue text and then it goes black.
If I try to boot into download mode I can get to the triangle screen if I am fast and then it goes black.
If I have a data USB cable connected and I connect the battery the phone does nothing, and will not respond to the power button, again no LED light indicating charge level.
If I have a charge only cable (wall outlet) connected and I connect the battery I see the battery charge icon for about 1 second and then the screen goes black. and the phone will not respond to any buttons.
I have duplicated all these things with 2 batteries both actual Samsung batteries, neither of the batteries is bubbled out at all.
I have tried leaving the battery out for several hours, but this did not help.
I have data on this phone that was not backed up so any suggestions I will try.
Thanks

Here's a thread talking about that issue. I'm afraid it sounds like your display is dead:

I had this problem before and I was freaking out, but it was just the cord I used when trying to connect it, but yours sounds like an overload problem, maybe from your car charger if it plugs into the car lighter socket. My buddy has a super recharger that hooks into his lighter socket, and while it may charge fast, it might have jolted your phone, or maybe you had it over clocked in your rom? Or was it a recent occurrence or did it happen as soon as you installed the rom? Because this happens on a bad flash sometimes, if your Wi-Fi connection is shaky or far off, you could get a bad download and it will royally harm your time having to mess with it.

I had flashed the night before and it ran fine all night and all morning, then it just shut down. The car charger I use is not a super charger, but it is also not a Samsung charger. I was not overclocked and my wifi is not shaky usually.
Seems like I am screwed either way.

This blows, I just had the Same Exact thing happen last night, word for word.
Although I'm on a stock Rom that's rooted.
Phone was in my pocket and it vibrated as it restarted on its own. Pulled it out of my pocket, waited for it to fully start up, then I could use it.
However, it rebooted 2 minutes later and has Never come back yet.
I wish there was some sure fire way to verify if its the screen that went bad or the logic board. The mere fact the screen shows the Galaxy S4 logo, or Download Mode for a few seconds before shutting off seems weird if the screen was in fact bad.... =(

You were correct! Had to mess with that button a bit to get to work properly, but its still an issue. One to many power button presses and the issue returns.
I have tested the phone without the exterior power button only using the logic board button and it did that same thing. Am I correct to assume that the fault is the actual button on the logic board? So new logic board to fix this? =(
Why so many presses of the power button?
Pp.
I recently bought my Zenfone 2 from Gearbest and when it came, I let it charge a bit. I eventually got it to boot with about 8% of a charge. I then left it for a while when I did something. When I came back, I found my phone to be shut down and when I tried to boot it up, it shown a low battery icon. Very weird since it was plugged into my PC the entire time.
I then started the phone once again. But when I pressed the power button, it shut down instead of sleeping.
I repeated turning it on a few times. Every time I pressed the power button to make it go to sleep, it instead shut down. Eventually, it stopped booting entirely. There is no vibration, indicator light, or screen. When I plug it in, the top half of the phone heats up significantly. I have had no luck trying to revive it.
I have tried:
Letting it charge for about an hour.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery.
Pushing both volume and power.
The phone is running pure stock as I only had about 30 minutes of total screen on time.

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping for some help with my Pixel. I was charging my Pixel overnight (though it was at ~65% battery) on a battery pack a couple nights ago, and when I woke up the phone was turned off. Nothing I can do now will get it to turn back on. I've tried multiple chargers (including the OEM), leaving it plugged in for a long time and then trying to turn it on, turning it on while holding power + volume down, etc. My PC will make a sound when I plug it in, like it recognizes a new USB device, but then it won't show up as a device.
Any ideas on what to do about this or what could be causing this issue? Currently phoneless so any and all help is hugely appreciated!

Holy crap! Almost sounds like your mother board went kaput! If you can't get into recovery or bootloader mode to do a factory reset, then about the only option as I see it is RMA. You certainly have grounds for it!

Something similar happened to me couple of month ago. The phone was on the charger and when I wanted to check it I noticed it was switched off. I could not switch it back on, tried to put it on different chargers, pressing different button combinations along with the power button, nothing helped. I then plugged the phone in to one of the usb 2 ports in the pc, used an Anker usb A to usb C cable. I could hear the sound the pc recognized it, then pressed volume up, volume down and power button for about 15-20 seconds. The phone switched back on... Since then (touch wood) hasn't happened again... Worth giving a try...
