I have dropped my phone.Phone's screen has been broken. But touchscreen is working. There are several replacement parts.''LCD'', ''frame'', ''touch screen digitizer''. Which one do i need to buy? Only the 'touch screen digitizer' is enough? (please answer in intermediate english level)
Welcome to the family..
Dear this is nothing I broke my 2 touch screen digitizer in last 1 weeks.
As I first purchased a digitizer and contacted a very good and reputed repair person from my city he tried the repair and successfully replaced my digitizer but unlucky me it didn't worked at all as he already warned me before doing the repair that the fixing of display and digitizer is very close and it might will not work and I would have to replace full panel in this case. But I took the risk and told him to have a try but no luck. He advised me to go to the service centre and get the whole panel repair there and I had to do that but my luck is not good with this phone just after two days of repair I broke it again.
This is my experience with the digitizer I'm not sure whether there are anyone in this forum who successfully managed to repair the digitizer.
Hard luck mate.

I just replaced my touch screen/housing (again) and upon booting the phone up and attempting to answer a text message, I find that there seems to be a strip of my digitizer that is dead. Beginning from the height of the QWERTYUIOP line and up about 1/4" is unresponsive to touch. If I scroll horizontally or try to press in that space, I get nothing. Vertical scrolling will stop in that area and resume once I go past the dead space. I even turned on "show touches" in the dev menu and no touches are registered the space while on the lockscreen or any other part of the ROM.
I applied a ZAGG Invisible Shield screen protector prior to installing the digitizer but I see no reason why that would adversely affect the digitizer.
What are the chances that I received a DOA digitizer? I'm guessing 100% but any input will be greatly appreciated.
Why did you replaced your digitizer sir? Does it have the same issue? Try to remove the screen protector, and clean the screen for moisture or dust. And try to recalibrate it. And is the replacement digitizer genuine? If none of these work, then maybe you really bought a DOA digitizer. Hope that has warranty. Good day.

I replaced it because I cracked the other one. The cracked digitizer worked perfectly, it was just cracked.
I even took it back apart after installing the new one and made certain the flex cable was connected properly. I assume it isn't oem as I bought it from an eBay dealer. Don't know where I'd find an oem digitizer. I've already contacted the seller and they said to send it back and a replacement part or refund would be issued pending their confirmation that the problem exists. I just wanted to get a second opinion on whether it was doa or if there was something I missed. Thanks.

I've got a cracked screen but the digitizer works fine. I noticed Amazon and eBay sell replacement screens but two local repair shops told me it's virtually impossible to replace the screen without damaging the phone so I they recommneded buying the screen and digitizer.
1) Does this sound right? If not, can anyone recommend a repair person/shop in Boston?
2) If they are right, can you recommend a place to buy the screen and digitizer that won't cost an arm and a leg.
Thanks
You'll never get the screen off without damaging the digitizer.
I have no idea the best place to get a replacement screen digitizer combo
Sorry I could only answer half your question

Hello all,
A few hours back i cracked my note 2's screen as i fell from the stairs.
Can someone tell me the exact price in INR for its replacement? The touch works fine. Thanks :'(
I need to get it done tomorrow.
From what ive researched and I havent done alot... its about £130 for the glass + digitzer...
You cant just replace the glass as the digitzer is glued to the screen.
My advice... claim insurance if you have it covered

Well, I got mine replaced at a Samsung Service Center in Bangalore, India a fortnight ago. Samsung charged me 6,850 INR (around 115 USD) for it. One thing to remember is that they replace the glass and the digitizer as well.
Call up a service center nearest to you, and check with them if they have the digitizer+glass with them. I was lucky as the one they used on my phone was the last one in their inventory, and they fixed it in 2 hours. If they don't, it takes a day or two for them to get the screen (digitizer and the glass) from Samsung.
I had cracked my old HTC Incredible S's screen too. But Note II's screen seems a lot more fragile than the HTC's, and I never bothered about fixing it myself: it is a difficult thing to get these parts in India, and to get genuine parts in good condtion (the courier/shipping folks are very adept at breaking even an mp3 player's screen!) is almost next to impossible.
Good luck!

Glad you did from Service center ,
It Cos-ted 6,400 for replacing the Glass and Digitizer where in the service center don't have the option to replace only glass they denied to change only glass as only glass was cracked but functionality was perfect so had to change both from BANGALORE SERVICE CENTER.

The service center folks get the complete set (digitizer and the glass) from Samsung when they place an order for a screen. I guess it is Samsung's way of getting a little extra from its customers. And it was the same with HTC as well.
Hello
Today my Z1C digitizer got broken (cracked), it got broken without any drops, I suspect phone bend or something, but I can't find real reason why it cracked in 1 place.
LCD is in perfect condition. I wanted to order digitizer however everyone offer complete expensive set (digitizer with lcd etc).
Is there possible to repair phone by only replacing digitizer or Z1C have digitizer integrated with lcd, or there is something why all offer full set only ?

My screen developed a hairline crack, the same as you, I couldn't work out how it happened, I didn't drop it or anything.
I raised a call to Sony support to say that the top half of the screen had stopped responding (true), didn't mention crack as it was almost impossible to see.
After doing the ususal 'plug it in to PC Companion and repair' guidance from the helpdesk, it was decided to send it back to service centre.
7 days later my phone was back with repaired screen, no cost.
I think Sony are brilliant for repairing screen damage, I don't know of any other manufacturer that does that.
Try to get your phone repaired on warranty.
So I dropped my phone, screen cracked. Pretty upset about it considering it was only dropped from about a foot.
Anyway, looking for repair options. I have insurance and heard LG is another way to go but looking for a different option.
My screen is cracked, digitizer responsed only where their is no cracks, LCD is fine.
Looking up repair places, they want to replace the whole assembly LCD/Screen, so my question
how difficult is replacing just the screen? i'd say I do pretty well at DIY
anyone have a good repair person who just does the screen or anyone will to sell your services to me?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
I replace my wife's G3 screen that was very damaged from the impact, I bought the part on ebay for $107 about two months ago, I replaced the screen, no to hard to do.
