No sound after update - Sony Xperia ZL

anyone experience problem with no sound after update? when play music i have no sound. When making a phone call I can't hear it ring unless click on speaker button. This is weird.
FYI I connected phone to PC and did repair/factory reset etc... still no help. Thinking about flash it with old firmware

Try before flashing the hole Firmware a soundmod. Maybe you will be lucky. If it will not play music flash the firmware again

Distorted Sound

I've brand new T989 with me, I moved to India after purchasing it so didn't got chance to check it properly while I was in USA. I just turned it on today and sound is distorted from rear speaker and in Earphones. Its just unplayable at even minimum volume and its not just with music its with every sound phone makes.. I can upload sample after recording but wanted to ask first if it can be fixed some how? I know its not speaker problem as sound is messed in earphones too. I don't know I feel its Hardware fault but its very rare :\ It is same sort of distorted sound when one preamps the music to make it louder.
Things I've tried 1 factory reset 2.installed clean factory image using ODIN and custom rom. Problem still exists.. Downloading 4.0.4 image to try it out too.
Please suggest if there is any fix available as I can't ask for warranty outside USA and sending phone back and getting it back from USA will cost almost half the price of phone so its not worth.
EDIT: its like something is boosting audio, for a min it started working fine but after reboot its screwed again. Any help would be highly appreciated thanks
Thanks in Advance

An update to jb from ics won't change it. Sounds like a hardware issue

Phone Jack not working

When connecting any headphones to my note 2, the phone plays the music in a weird way. Basically the tone is very low although the volume is cranked up and the music plays in a static way like it is a very bad recording. This goes for phone calls as well. Basically it sounds like if the headphones were blown.
The speaker plays the music perfectly. All Headphones work on different devices.
I had downloaded "Awesome Beats" App a log time ago but only activated it last week on "headphones+BT+Speaker" I was thinking this may be the cause so I removed it for the phone. The problem persists.
BTW I haven't used my headphones in like a month so I can't really say if this was the cause of the issue.
I was wondering if there was a way to flash the phone jack "driver" by itself to the phone? Is there?
Can anyone think of a solution and the cause to this issue?
Much appreciated.
BTW phone jack is clean
Uncheck your head set volume restriction in settings ???
If no change...clear application data for your player app...
Or you may need to wipe the cache in recovery to test....g
Don't know if headphones settings exist on the samsung note 2. found nothing under 'sounds'. I know some HTCs have them.
Am running CleanROM which is a modified stock ROM.
followed your other steps as mentioned. Except that I cleared Delvik cache as well. after rebooting headphone sound remained the same. kept playing it for a minute or so then voila: it got fixed. disconnected then reconnected the headset and it still works.
So thank you for the ideas, and I hope this would help anyone in the future facing this issue.

Sound only through external speaker

Hi,
As of today - my phone will only play sound through the external speaker. Calls play through it, and music plays through it.
The phone detects that head phones are connected/disconnected just fine, and the internal speaker was working for calls yesterday. I have no idea WTF is going on, haven't changed anything.
Updated the kernel from .108 to .157 in case it was a known bug - fixed nothing.
Is there anyone who might know what is going on??

Try factory reset.
If that fails try to find the ftf file for your region phone , and flash with flashtool.
If that fails then you will need to have a vanilla stock build on the phone anyway before you can send it back for repair. It should still be covered by warranty.

Oneplus 3 no sound and mic error (audio problem)

Hello gays, let me share my problem in here so people with same problem can find the solution together.
Here,
My device bottom speaker and microfon error. When im playing music the music still in 00:00 not play, the youtube app cannot play video.
Firstime i think it from speaker hardware, but when im plug headset on jack 3.5mm still not hearing music and error on youtube, microphone also error cannot answer call and record audio.
Its not because volume slider(im set on Ringging)
Sometimes the audio comes again and can play music with or without headset and can play youtube video.
Anyone have same problem and find solution?
#Im sorry for classic question. Because im new user
Sounds like ( no pun intended ) that your mixer paths have messed up somehow , I'd recommend re-flashing your ROM , you could try and dirty flash but if there's no sound after that then try a clean flash , good luck p.s you've put hey gays at the beginning instead of guys lol....
Yesterday im flash 3 different rom. Oos h2os and aosp based. Anf today im format the internal storage via twrp and still same
Hi, got the same prob. Stock, unrooted OP3 on latest OTA update - 7.1.1 - H2O 4.1.6 build A3003_16_170610.
No mic in call. errors with all mic using Apps, InCallUI dies into reboot some times. My understanding is I should try format and flash stock, is that right?
Thanks...

Dirty plug. Corroded plug, etc. Check the plug and clean it, also check the inside of the plug, and clean it.

I'm facing the same situation: after July update headphones are not working as it should. First I thought my left earbud or some internal part of the phone was broken but now that you said, it make much sense. I just tested my earbud on a different device and it works properly. (I'm using the same earbuds since day one with the phone). I cant imagine what it could have happen besides a july update issue.

Did you update to the latest august version yet? Is the problem still there?
If the problem still persists, go to accessibility settings, switch sound to MONO, that should level out both channels. If the problem still persists, the problem is hardware. If it doesn't switch mono off, and check the balance settings in any Sound FX app you may have on your device.

Installing the Sony Music from Play store revealed a hidden SoundFX app. Maybe something messed with that. Download the Sony Music App, go to settings and click on Sound Effects, or whatever the function is called. Check the balance volume from there.
Also, try installing Noozxoide from app store, I use that for audio reprocessing and I'm extrmely happy with it, maybe that could reset the volume through reprocessing.
Also, what do you use to listen to music or sounds? Maybe that specific app has balance settings and got messed with.

I use spotify and I don't think that app can mess up with my volume balance
