AIO wireless is the best bang for the buck - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

So I switched to aio wireless a couple months back. Prepaid service owned by att. It is the only service out there using att signal and Lte that actually gives you what you pay for. Aiowireless.com
The plans and pricing is straightforward
$55/month for 2gb Lte speed then true unlimited throttled after.
If you need more data you can easily add either one time purchases of $10/gb extra. Or you can add it as a permanent add on. 1gb extra a month for $10 on top of the 50 dollar base.
i think the best deal though is the aio pro plan for $70 you get 7gb
I personally have a monthly order of 8gb for $80. My company pays for $60/month. So I pay $20.
The customer service and support is the easiest and the best I've ever encountered. For instance they have an app that let's you overview your whole account, usage, add or change your plan, and a chat feature that instantly connects you to an aio rep. And they are ridiculously helpful and friendly.

It's a small thing.. But when i get close to running out of high speed.. They send me a text message.. And they don't tell me how I can add more gbs or give them more money.. They suggest I use wifi. Its small.. But its like they aren't trying to get you to give them more money.
I'm an extremely happy customer. I recommend it to anyone who has att coverage. And doesn't want a contract.
Anybody out here have aio already can share their experience?

Yeah but they throttle at around 1.5GB. This AIO $55 dollar plan is 2GBs.

Thanks vandam. Its true I got around 1.5gb before they more or less cut me off completely.
Straight talk is not for the data user looking to use att towers.
ATT has been cutting down how much bandwith they give to straight talk

Been on Straight talk, Go Phone and now AIO Wireless. Gotta say I prefer Aio of the three.
Straight Talk: Cheapest(45$) 1.5 gb of data after that your slow as hell, Also don't count on customer support being there.
AT&T Go Phone: Most expensive ($60) Two gigs of data after that have to purchase 1gb at 10$. Good customer service. (con was most apps for at&t service don't work) Had to use texting option to check data usage, no visual voice mail, etc
Aio Wireless: (55$ a month 2gb of data after that your slowed down but have the option to speed back up for 1gb for 10$) Best customer support also visual voice mail and a account app to check data usage.

Is that a typo?

Well it really depends on the user straight talk is offering lte and throttles data after 2.5 gigs and it's 45 dollars and tax comes to 48 but you don't have the option to add more gigs like aio wireless and there are plenty of apps in the play store to monitor data usage or just go to setting and set the limit yourself it really comes done to the person and how much there willing to spend. So to say one better than the other is basically opinion and not really fact.

@skifreek its all att coverage. So 4g and 3g and everything.

What type of lte speeds are you guys seeing with aio?

I recently moved from Verizon Wireless to AIO for my Nexus 5. The speeds I get is ~4mb down ~2mb up in the area I am located in. With the 3 days I've been with them, I am so far pleased. Great coverage so speeds aren't really bugging me that much.
The only thing I have found annoying is I have to manually enter my own APN settings to get data to work. I've attempted to create my own update.zip along with other user's zip's and has not work. (Chronic rom flasher).

Tethering root and data cap

So I know it really isn't unlimited data and its only 5gb cap but does that include wireless tethering for root users
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Don't know where you got that info but it most definitely is unlimited, there is no 5GB cap.
There is no cap, and Sprint doesn't know about your tethering provided you're using a Market app.

There is NO cap for 3g/4g on Sprints network at all. There are people using 11GB+ a month with no overage fees(I am not one of them). There is how ever a roaming cap of 300MB.
And one more thing since I'm on a family plan I got a call asking how I already used 1gb and that we now have a 5gb data cap its all over google.

nope, they did have a typo on sprint's website that said that but it was changed a long time ago. If they wanted to they could easily find out if you are tethering though.

as far as I can tell, its all unlimited, I had one month with almost 3gbs of roaming, no extra charge
There is no limit on 3G or WiMax data usage.
The sole limitations are as follows:
1) Your roaming data usage cannot be larger than your on-Sprint data usage, or else you will incur fees.
2) We will all smack you if you get ridiculous data usage, and Sprint then turns around and increases prices for unlimited data plans and/or eliminates unlimited data plans because of bandwidth hogs like you.
+1 There is ABSOLUTELY NO cap on phone data, only the broadband cards. I went through this last week with customer support then decided to ask our Sprint rep at Best Buy to confirm. The phone plan has absolutely no cap and if you use wifi tether they cant tell anything besides your phone is using data.
For anyone else wanting to argue this, hop on Live Chat with Sprint and verify
There may be a cap if he has a family plan. The $10 that every Evo owner used to moan about entitles us to no cap. However, Sprint has confirmed that any phone that doesn't pay this charge, including data cards, will be capped.
If his family is all on one plan, and only he has the Evo, they may be capping him somewhere.

T Mobile throttling.

When T-Mobile throttles you after 2gb of HSPA+ data usage, do they throttle you to 3G or down to EDGE?
I'm wondering because I'm giving a lot of consideration to switching to T Mobile to get the SGS3 and I was wondering this.
Also, anyone who has T Mobile now, what is your usage like? How many gigs do you use monthly?
Hey from what I can tell they throttle you down to 2g, I have the 5 gb data plan you should call customer loyalty or retention and ask for the android preferred plan its 5 gbs for 20 worst they could say is no. I've been with tmo for about 6 yrs and have been very happy with them. Had Att/Cingular before and hated their customer service, also reception with tmo is actually very good since they have wifi calling it allows me to get reception where many carriers just don't get reception.
Data usage wise it really depends what you use your phone for I use around 4 gbs monthly but I tether heavily about 6 hrs a week, streaming youtube and pandora. If I didn't tether I would prob use less then 2 gbs I would think. It really depends just what you do on your phone. (I dont use my phone to watch Youtube or anything I just tether).
I have a 2gb 4g plan and on occasion I go over my limit, however, I have not noticed a big difference in speed. I'm sure if I ran a speed test I would be able to see drastic change in speeds but for steaming music and video I never have to wait for it to buffer or anything.
The only times I really go over my limit is if I am on the road and I am tethering my laptop or tablet.

When you go over your limit, you get throttled down to EDGE until you come up on a new month, and yes, it is very drastic going from 4G to edge :-/.
You can stream music *google music/pandora* on edge.
Everyone's answer is going to vary wildly on data usage.. I had 5 GB, streamed music everytime I was in the car, surfed a lot while away from wifi .. but when I was around wifi I kept it on.
I averaged a little over 2 GB .. only hit anywhere close to 5 GB a month that I didn't have wifi at home.
I had T Mobile before. but the throttle was from when I got into over 5gb. Since this is 2gb I figured they'd put me on 3G.
I think technically they throttle you to EDGE speeds, but your phone still uses WCDMA (3G).

Isn't T Mobile a GSM carrier? What would they have to do with WCDMA?
WCDMA (UMTS) is the 3rd generation standard in the GSM family. If you have 3G or HSPA+ labeled as 4G, and you are on a GSM carrier, you are using WCDMA. Confusingly, CDMA carriers like Verizon, Sprint, and US Cellular, do not use WCDMA at all.
Just wanted to say I called retentions regarding this issue today and there was nothing they could do for me save telling me my etf and how to port my number to srpint. should I call back and try to get a diff. answer from another agent?
I also offered to upgrade my data to the 10gb if they could change my plan in another way (less mins) and keep it the same price. no dice.

fyi, when you're throttled, you keep normal icons/connections but are throttled to 100kbps. NOT 2g, not 3g but max of 100 kbps regardless your connection type (can still say 4g, it's just throttled).

This is the case. I'm still on HSPA+, but I hit my limit yesterday, and now I'm getting about 60kb/s down on speedtest. Unfortunately, that I've been able to find, most methods of bypassing the throttle limit no longer work, which is rather annoying, as I still have a week and a half before my billing cycle resets and 60k is too slow to stream music comfortably.
From someone who works for them..in communications they tell us it's a 2.5G speed that it is being slowed down to. Though these speeds are not always real life, based on where you live, how many many people are near and using the same tower etc etc. No one's experience will always be the same. Edge can sometimes be okay to use or it can be a pain.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
T Mobile reception sucks here in Kansas City, and when you are on the move really. When I got throttled, I was getting 2g speeds, and it was horrible. I couldn't use any app that used data.
T Mobile only has fast 3g in some cases, I would not consider their '4g' 4g because it was not very fast in the first place.
I would not recommend them.

[Q] Switching from ATT Galaxy S III to T-Mobile Galaxy S III (DC Metro)

ATT is screwing me by refusing to carry forward my unlimited data plan to LTE and has repeatedly tried to force me onto a capped plan.
I saw a newspaper ad today (archaic - I know!) saying T-Mo has an unlimited everything plan for this phone for $90 and it's tempting. I'm hoping to sell or swap my existing GS3.
Is there anything I should be aware of?
Also, what is T-mo's take on this plan if I try to tether?
Thanks.
I'm pretty sure you can just swap sims? Tethering has been beaten to death on these forums. I'd take a few minutes to search and ask your questions in those threads if they haven't been covered yet.

I think I already made it clear I anticipated getting a new S3. I know that they aren't fully compatible for 3/4G/LTE.
Re: Tethering. I though this was a new plan - it appears to be as much in the advert.
They block tethering on unlimited data plans but rooted tethering might work. I haven't tried it yet.

They are trying to kill teather with updates. I tried T-Mobile with still having my main line on att. Speeds were either really fast or dead slow. I'd rather just stick with att because it's decently fast wherever I go.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I just recently re-upped with T-Mobile. They have two types of plans out right now. They have what they call the classic plan and I can't remember what their new plans are called.
Anyway, with the classic plan you get the phone subsidized, but the plan itself is pretty expensive. On the other hand if you get their newer plan, you pay full price for the phone, but the plan itself is dirt cheap (cheapest I can find among the major carriers). While $600 for a phone might seem like a lot, they only require a $200 down payment and since you're starting a new contract you'll probably get $100 or so knocked off. The rest of the price of the phone is spread throughout the first 20 months of your contract.
Applying a little basic finance and assuming you have a decent stock portfolio, I estimated my cost of my Galaxy S3 at around $350 and my monthly fees went down from $230-250 to its current $140-150.
Don't know much about T-Mobile signal in your area, but if you can manage a consistent 3G I'd say it's worth the cost savings.
I would tell you that you will be very happy with t-mobile vs att, I did the switch my self and I couldn't be any happier, my data is very fast and yes it is faster than att and I get 4g 95% of the time in my area, my brother still have att with the s3 and my phone is way faster than his, on a speed test mine gets between 17000-22000 kbs consent vs his the highest he gets is about 5000-8000

Awesome dude. I got it too and surprisingly I've still only used about 4gb in the past like 20 days.
I finally had to switch from my 5GB "unlimited" to truly unlimited when I got throttled for the first time. Took all about 10 minutes for me to get mad enough to switch.
Come to find out I'm actually saving money when it's all said and done because I was on an old 3,000 minute plan that just wasn't as cost effective as the new plan.
Plus now I'm stoked no throttle worries because ever since I got my Nexus 7 I have been using quite a bit of data. I'm already at 2.7GB with twenty days left in the billing cycle lol
I couldn't take it either, what a pain it was. I'm saving money too. I was paying $35 a month for the 5GB 'unlimited' but now I pay 30.
Now I can use data without worry, it's definitely worth it.

I dont have unl 4G just unl 2G data, 100kb/s isn't to bad for me especially when I am always connected to a WiFi hotspot 90% of the time when I use my phone. Though when I am able to afford it I am probably going to switch to unl 4G because I mean who doesnt want unl 4G? lol
I had 2Gb and after a month switched to unlimited.
My WIFI is completely off, so far I used 4Gb in 10 days.:good:
Those speeds don't seem to fast I get around 20mbps !
Made the switch to T-mobile back in October and got my first smartphone along with it.
Went with the Value plan for myself along with two other phones.
Unlimited 4G was included and we pay roughly $134 monthly.
Love the fact that I never have to worry about data usage or caps.
However, I am pretty much the only one that uses the data connection on their phone. And I don't use too much.
The coverage in my area just isn't good. Tested a few different modems and found one that helped to increase the data to about 5-12 mbps at home and school.

Having problem with Simple Mobile service, any other good ones?

Lately I have been experiencing poor service with simple mobile. In addition to that, they used to have an unlimited flat rate plan, now they add tax. And also they throttle you to edge speeds after 3gigs of data use. After they throttle me, when I reup for the next month it is like a **** show trying to get 4g speeds back. Their CS sucks and they blame it on my phone or sim card all the time. Im officially done.
1) Is there a better mvno out there?
2) Right now i got simple mobiles $50/month plan unlimited everything until after 3gigs of data, then edge speeds and with tax now its $55 and change. Im considering metro pcs $60 flat rate plan unlimited everything for $5 more. Anyone have experience with Metro PCS?
3) Metro pcs offers 4g "lte" speeds, is our phones capable of 4g "lte"? I think simple mobile uses "hspa+" which is supposedly equivalent, doubt it.
Thanks guys for the help.
Don't know about mvno's, but the T999 is not capable of LTE. You'd need the T999L, or if going with Metro, the T999N.
Metro is a good one if you don't want or can't unlock your device. Speeds are as good as T-Mobile with all taxes and fees included and its a flat rate if you pay online, and at store its only $3 payment fee.. As doc said T999 doesn't support LTE, only T999L and T999N..
So both the t999l and t999n are lte capable, but the t999l will not get lte with metro? What service for t999l then?
The two are identical in terms of hardware. Just one has T-Mobile firmware and the ither has metro firmware.

Wow that sounds good! Is it 4g speed data...through the whole 5gigs?
Update: Actually I just read their $45 plan, it says unlimited data and after 3gigs, speed is throttled for remainder of month. It is still $10 cheaper though than simple mobile. Might check it out, thanks.
Yeah I tried Simple Mobile once, they are ridiculous. You go over your data and they pretty much shut your data off and you can't even pay more to get more data. I use straight talk t-mobile on my t999l and love it. Get 3 gigs of 4g lte and after they throttle to 3g I belIeve, I didn't even have to unlock my phone just dropped in the SIM and set the apn and was working. For 45 a month I would recommend to anyone.

You're probably using the T-Mobile straight talk if you didn't have to unlock

when I started it was 3GB but they upped it to 5GB after a month. this is the AT&T plan, maybe TMO is different.
It's not LTE, it's HSPA+ but quite fast here in Maine.
As to unlocking, I just called TMO and they emailed me the code. I owned the phone free and clear.
I get LTE here in Las Vegas on the T-mobile Straight Talk.
