Use the search feature.......These are things you have to do yourself
But why do I get Resource or Device Busy error when mounting ext2 in link2sd? Is it necessary to Mount?

I have a Kingston 4gb class4 sdhc card.I want to install galaxy nexus by JM.so how to format card for how much size.can we alter size in future means if another Rom needs more size than this?if yes then how can we?can we delete partition in future?
What is mtd partitioning?
Iam using cwm4.0
Thanks in advance

for installing galaxy nexus by JM,i created 512Mb external partition with 0 swap size. You can create SD card partition from recovery. It can be deleted whenever you want by formatting the SD card.
For MTD partitioning you can see this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233340
for galaxy nexus by JM 145Mb system partition and 20Mb cache size should be enough.
If I create 512 mb with 0 swap size SD card partion does other any custom rom will automatically detect it?
Ext3 or ext4 which one to choose for partitioning?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA App
I might be wrong but I think CWM recovery creates ext3 partition on your SD card,so that would do.
And I have used the same 512Mb partition for rempuzzle rom and for galaxy nexus by JM as well. But when I installed MIUI gingerbread it didnt seem to work, coz it was moving apps to the unpartitioned space. So I think it should work only for the roms for which a partition is required.I might be wrong though.
Correct me if Iam wrong that means a Rom which does not us sd-ext feature will not boot or will have some problem???

If a ROM doesn't use the EXT partition there is no problem.
You can even flash DarkTremor A2SD to get the same functionality.
K...thanks guys...can someone provide a link for darktremor a2sd

Format your sdcard after backing up. Or use some partition manager. This should be in Q&A for future reference.

what can be done?
It's problem same with me.. How do I solve this

Link2SD Concept
Yes I also don't understand the concept of link however I have read much abt it online....
Can any1 tell me when I link an app to my ext3 partion, the similar contents that are in my internal memory gets stored in my ext3 partion....so if I try delete the original delvix file from internal memory why does the app force close even though I have same delvix file in my ext3 partion....
Please help me understand this?

What space? Dont use ext3, it will slow Ur phone. Use ext4. U need minitool partition home edition.
Data2sd has this problem U cant recover the partition to use with other roms. One back up can be used with that rom only. But U can recover via titanium backup. The main advantage with data2sd is U can install a game which is suppose 200mb. which U can never install by link2sd. as it will show low memory error.
If U want to use link2sd use odex version, it has 120mb user space.
I have ext3 partion by my phone runs preety fast bt can u please tell me how to remove ext3 partion from my memory card?

Hi All
I am having problems partitioning my sd card. My phone is a HTC Wildfire S A510e. The phone is running Cyanogen Mod Version 10-20130103-NIGHTLY-marvel Android version 4.1.2. I have tried using link2sd to create 2nd mount but all I get is unable to mount script I have also tried doing this via recovery but no luck that way and with mini tool I have had no luck. I would be really happy if some one would help me do this as I am fed up with low storage warnings.
Many Thanks
Paul

you can try int2ext+ scripts.its good and better than link2sd.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1716124
but do that with clean install like if you going to install rom again.
or try link2sd.
partition are,
fat32 remaining space
ext3/ext4 1 GB is enough i think
linux swap 512 MB
all partition should be primary
I rooted my desire 816 [still running the stock rom] and I wanted to try link2sd so I partitioned my SD card and created an ext4 primary partition.. opened link2sd app, installed mount scripts and restarted the phone but the ext partition is still unmounted.. tried ext2 but ended up with the same result!
searched a lot but found so many confusing topics that got me more confused!
what should I do to get the ext partition to be mounted on boot?!
also is app2ext better than link2sd? if so, then how to install it too?
thank you guys in advance..

Check this video.
http://youtu.be/vhUBLhdgSPU
The video maker Potent Technologies has a .zip file available from kinghunki that automatically adds the wp_mod.ko file and the permissions on boot with one flashable zip via custom recovery.
Link in the description of the video.

Thanks! but I think the zip file is for enabling SD card write permissions only..
my problem is that the EXT partition I created doesn't mount on boot and I don't know how to enable that since I'm on stock rom not a custom one..
I am having the same problem. I even flashed that zip but It didn't help.
I had read somewhere that the Exp partition size should be 20% of the microSD card size at most. is it relevant here?
I've also made a Linux swap. the order of my partitions is :
1. fat 32 :15 GB primary, Active
2. Ext4 :now 5 GB primary (It would fail mount with Ext3)
3. Linux Swap : 1.5 GB

that zip is for re-enabling writing permissions on SD card which is disabled in KitKat by default.
------
you don't need that much for the ext partition.. it should be no more than 20% of the SD card size.
I guess you made the ext this size because of games, right? you should use foldermount instead.. It's AWESOME!!
------
I have a stock rom and I don't intend to flash any custom rom but a stable lollipop rom.
------
I have no problems with partitioning my SD card at all, my problem is how to add "Init.d" support in my stock rom to be able to mount my ext partition at boot.
I guess this is gonna fix it for us

yup, Just installed "Superuser_Busybox_Init.d_Wp_Mod_STABLE-v4.0.0.zip" from above thread and Link2SD problem is fixed. now the mount sticks

Meaning after he restarts the device the SD doesn't need to be remounted with a command in order for link2sd to work.

KitKat and Lollipop require different fixes.
For 5.0.2 go here...

recently i rooted my htc desire816 dual sim and installed cm12 nightly version. and the problem is that link2sd just don't mount with what ever i do.its says" data/sdext2 mount not found". i tried every possible thing from xda forum. installed su,busybox, init.d installer from xda forum. partitioned the card as fat32 and ext2. then later on fat32 and ext4. but link2sd just cannot mount with error of invalid argument. and the move to sd apps says " no need to move it share the same space with os".
