XDV3 ROM & KERNEL XDuosV3 for Galaxy Y Duos GT-S6102 - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

Good evening.
I've installed this ROM but I have some questions, not answered in the thread.
a) Is there any way to change the icons for the cards, so that it can be visualized when a call is received? That is to say, if I receive a call on card A and I don't answer the call, later on I have no chance to figure out to which card it was made...
b) how do I write these words in SMS and text apps: é, à, és... I have the accented option enabled but still have no chance to writ that
c) How do I manage to put the clock on the toolbar, on top?
Thanks for your work!

Im sorry ive only got an answer for the second question.
I'm not using the multiling keyboard that came with xdv3 but im using the jellybean keyboard. Try to press and hold e to get è/ë...and so on and so forth

[Q] CM6 Dialer

I miss the ability to type someone's name and have it quickly find their number. CAn this be done in CyanogenMod 6?
I don't think so. Download Dialer One.
BB15, Thank you. That's perfect.
I love XDA
What he said. (Thanks!)
Such a useful feature.
What about the keyboard with quick auto-correct suggestions and long-press secondary characters that came stock on Sprint Hero?

Ya, me too
I've been using Dialer One since my Hero, love it
I dont think I could find a better community to learn a new os with.
Super Thanks!!!! I was wondering about this too. Thanks to the reply and thanks for asking the question.
You can always use the search button on the bottom right. Start typing the contacts name and the matching contacts pop up as you type

This thread has got me thinking. I like to avoid redundancy. For the second time in a week I have stopped using an app I've loved for 6 months. I'm going without Dialer One until further notice. Follow my tweets for updates on my Dialer One status.. kidding..
I knew in the back of my mind a search would include your phones content.. and I long press and voice dial frequently but I hadn't thought of tapping search and swyping a contacts name to call them. FYI, tap your contacts' icon not their info.
nvm, wrong thread, sorry

I am using SwiftKey Beta (available in the market). Works great and offers suggestions for the next word too!

[Q] dial an embedded phone number from an email

If I have an email that has a phone number embedded in it... let's say in a reply from someone that I am cc;d on.. and I want to dial the phone number in the text body or signature block in the embedded email text, how do I do that? I can't click the phone number and have it do anything, and if I select it (get the 2 green pins and expand to the phone number size, then send to clipboard) I cant figure out how to pass it to the dialer....
I'm sure I am doing something wrong on this but I can't figure out what.
I use htc sense rom and the email client that came with it.
I can do this if the number format is standard with parenthesis or dashes.
But if someone uses dots between numbers our some other unconventional format, it will not work.
I can't speak for gmail client, though.
I use exchange but I don't think it should matter which client you use should it? If I have a string of 999-123-4567 in the email text body and want to pass that to the dialer to call it, how do I do that?
[just tested exchange and gmail]
I just tap that phone number.
I use this feature often.
I am using a sense rom. Are you using sense or an aosp rom..
I am using the stock OTA 2.2 rom.
The number i was trying to dial was in the format 999.123.1234 using periods instead of dashes so I think that is why clicking didnt work? Even so, if I copy the number to clipboard as is, then how do I enter the clipboard info into the dialer?
Dude, I, like, so founded it.
Download CopyNDial from the marketz.
Read the built-in Help, checkmark "Hook.." in it's options.
I has to try twice before it worked.
First, sir, I want to thank you for this great opportunity to serve you.
Tonight I ate toast covered in marshmallow cream and washed it down with beer. Btw, I will be leaving CopyNdial installed. You're the best!
Excellent find!
thanks!!! just what I was looking for!
Now if you can only tell me how to attach a file from within an email that isn't a doc/pic/mp3 /location as are the only choices in the attach file menu....
I has these options.. You don't?

Useful app... offline voicecommands

Hi,
I think there is a very useful app needed in all smartphone...and specially in the fantastic galaxy s2: the offline voicecommands.
People, like me, that have not the possibility to get always connected to the net, need the offline voicecommands like the mororola smartphones. We just need a porting of that app as the vivaldi 4season team did, but working for all the roms and in particular that app have to work...
Who is the dev that can do this for the "disconnected" community? He will help the people that need to call someone whilst is driving a car... No accidents trying to do a call whilst driving car, no money spent in a special contract to be always connected.
We need a hero!

Dont we have that already with the Built in Samsung Voice actions powered by Vlingo which also has a drive/car mode
Vlimgo requires Internet and to be honest is not greatest when dialing contacts especially if they are not typical English names.
Just do what I do as soon as I install rom, delete vlingo and put original android voicedialer.apk in system (note: not voice search) app from nexus s gingerbread or cyanogen rom. Works offline and much better for contacts recognition. Responds fine to bluetooth dial as well.

Could you post that apk please?
Here you go!
Remember put this in system/app folder with root explorer (do not install as regular apk) and remember to delete vlingo voice to go apk from there cause it will clash on bluetooth dial.
Istituto tris app multilanguage?
Is this only for dialing or sms too?
Inviato dal mio GT-I9100 usando Tapatalk
It's name is voice dialer! Ask me again if this is for dictating sms!
Or are you asking if you can start text message with this?
There's voice actions for that or vlingo or whatever but they all need to be connected to the net.
With this you can basically start any app installed on the phone with command open * (open MESSAGING or open OPERA MOBILE) or dial contacts on the PHONE or command redial.
You can not say 'send text to "contact name"'. If you want deeper than that then use online ones I mentioned.
Iono if it's multilanguage? I why don't you try it then tell us? What I do know is that I have plenty non English contacts and it dials them correctly even though it repeats them weird with English phonetics. It is able to learn as well so if it's confused between 2 contacts, manually selecting correct one, will not prompt again with same pronunciation. I have had few names that I had to gradually train like that going from English phonetics to native tongue pronunciation and now it's perfect.
I save data with titanium so don't have to train it again between flashing.

Calm down. If you insist, so i ask you again: is it for dictating sms?
A forum need people able to talk gently with others and if they can and want, to answer to the question, and not to be arrogant.
If you are nervous go to sleep.
So Dumb
So Dumb to not understand plain English.
Lol! Yeah all we need in forum are lazy people that post request in wrong section and won't do **** for themselves even when the help and explanation is being offered several times, but are easy to offend!
This was a waste of fingers. I'm off to sleep as you suggested and you wait for another soft spoken fellow or a gall.
But I'll throw you another bone. None of the solutions to date offer offline dictation on any smartphone platform and you ponder...

Point being: instead of finding ways of being offended maybe you should have read more carefully and see I and others had tried to help you throughout this topic. You have 4 posts and look what they are.
Anyways ill stop now and leave your thread alone.

[Q] Broken SMS longer than 160 char

If someone's already answered this, please point me to that specific thread with a valid solution relating to my issue as I could not find it for the past week.
My recently replaced Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 won't send text messages longer then 160 characters when rooted. I am familiar with rooting Samsung devices, but I will admit this is my first time rooting my GS3. Regular messages and picture messages send just fine but anything longer than 160 = Fail. I've tried CM10 and AOKP and always end up with the same issue. I've looked on CyanogenMod's website and found something relating to SMSC so I gave it a try (can't post link due to post restricitons). I've tried all 3 methods listed, including entering it in a HEX PDU format still with no success. All I keep getting is update error. If I refresh the SMSC I get "+7",145 (including the quotations).
Upon searching Google and XDA Forums some more with regards to SMSC, I mostly came across solutions that led to switching out the SIM card temporarily to another phone and trying again. I can't do this for obvious reasons. Other solutions involved trying to enter it in PDU format. I tried this numerous times ranging from "07917140140000F0" to "07917140140000F011" and other sorts specifically for Sprint and still have had no success.
Other methods I've tried to remedy this problem was using 3rd party text messaging apps such as Handcent. This proved unfruitful as well.
Thank you to anyone who can help me in advance. If you need more info, just ask and I will try to respond promptly.

I hate to sound picky but I honestly hate 3rd party messaging apps. I was hoping to keep it native since I find its simplicity and features to be a lot more appealing and useful. I also hate advertisements and offers almost as much as the next person so I do my best to avoid the slightest hint for a handout as best as I possibly can.
Thank you for the suggestion though, it does work, I just want to keep it simple instead of looking for a workaround.
No prob go SMS is my favorite so I recommend it to anyone

Ouch, still no solution? Guess I may have no choice but to go with GoSMS until there's a stable release of 4.1.2 :crying:

DUDE! If I could hug you through the screen, I would, so instead I just slapped my screen a high 5 that you should get whenever you read this. THANK YOU!
Your instructions were fairly clear to follow all the way up to the point of creating a flashable zip (I might've overworked my brain reading all night) so instead, I originally just replaced the modified Mms.apk into the ROM and it seemed to work fine after installing it, but after some issues I list later in this post, I decided to figure it out and give it a try. Though I understand what I did, it doesn't explain why I get the errors to begin with. You have honestly helped me more then enough so no need to dwell on that if you don't know.
I do have two minor issues and one major:
When I was sending some test text messages to myself, I realized a 2-part text would send the 1st text almost instantly and the 2nd part minutes later.
When sending a 3-part text, it sends the 2nd part 1st, the 3rd part about a minute later and finally the 1st part about 2 minutes later
I can't send MMS messages anymore but could only receive it.
In regards to MMS, I downloaded the Example.zip you had on your page. I extracted it and created the "app" and "framework" sub folders within the system folder then added the apks to their respected destinations. With the exception of adding some outputs for the ui_print, I generally left the updater-script file alone. Finally, I selected all 3 root folders within the Example folder (data, META-INF and system) right-clicked, selected WINRAR then add to archive. I changed the name to texts and selected ZIP as my archive format. Finally, I added the zip to my sd card along with CM10.0.0 and its compatible gapps. Once in recovery, I did a factory reset and flashed CM10, gapps and texts.zip in that order. Upon testing my messages, I encounter the issues listed previously listed above.
Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

Names not appearing when I receive a text.

This happened ever since I flashed the mdl base. Whenever I get a text, their name does not appear in the lockscreen and just shows message.
you just go to messaging, settings, and check the preview message box, should fix it
That was easy LMAO thanks man. Mods please close thread.
