Hi,
I think there is a very useful app needed in all smartphone...and specially in the fantastic galaxy s2: the offline voicecommands.
People, like me, that have not the possibility to get always connected to the net, need the offline voicecommands like the mororola smartphones. We just need a porting of that app as the vivaldi 4season team did, but working for all the roms and in particular that app have to work...
Who is the dev that can do this for the "disconnected" community? He will help the people that need to call someone whilst is driving a car... No accidents trying to do a call whilst driving car, no money spent in a special contract to be always connected.
We need a hero!

Dont we have that already with the Built in Samsung Voice actions powered by Vlingo which also has a drive/car mode
Vlimgo requires Internet and to be honest is not greatest when dialing contacts especially if they are not typical English names.
Just do what I do as soon as I install rom, delete vlingo and put original android voicedialer.apk in system (note: not voice search) app from nexus s gingerbread or cyanogen rom. Works offline and much better for contacts recognition. Responds fine to bluetooth dial as well.

Could you post that apk please?
Here you go!
Remember put this in system/app folder with root explorer (do not install as regular apk) and remember to delete vlingo voice to go apk from there cause it will clash on bluetooth dial.
Istituto tris app multilanguage?
Is this only for dialing or sms too?

It's name is voice dialer! Ask me again if this is for dictating sms!
Or are you asking if you can start text message with this?
There's voice actions for that or vlingo or whatever but they all need to be connected to the net.
With this you can basically start any app installed on the phone with command open * (open MESSAGING or open OPERA MOBILE) or dial contacts on the PHONE or command redial.
You can not say 'send text to "contact name"'. If you want deeper than that then use online ones I mentioned.
Iono if it's multilanguage? I why don't you try it then tell us? What I do know is that I have plenty non English contacts and it dials them correctly even though it repeats them weird with English phonetics. It is able to learn as well so if it's confused between 2 contacts, manually selecting correct one, will not prompt again with same pronunciation. I have had few names that I had to gradually train like that going from English phonetics to native tongue pronunciation and now it's perfect.
I save data with titanium so don't have to train it again between flashing.

Calm down. If you insist, so i ask you again: is it for dictating sms?
A forum need people able to talk gently with others and if they can and want, to answer to the question, and not to be arrogant.
If you are nervous go to sleep.

So Dumb to not understand plain English.
Lol! Yeah all we need in forum are lazy people that post request in wrong section and won't do **** for themselves even when the help and explanation is being offered several times, but are easy to offend!
This was a waste of fingers. I'm off to sleep as you suggested and you wait for another soft spoken fellow or a gall.
But I'll throw you another bone. None of the solutions to date offer offline dictation on any smartphone platform and you ponder...

Hi. Welcome to XDA When I first signed up to xda I had no idea what I was looking for or what I even wanted to do to my phone. Being familiar to the whole forum edict rather than asking questions that have already been answered a million times over I noticed the handy dandy search function.
An example: Regarding you above question I searched, "rhodium custom sms tones for contacts" and was quickly presented with:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407933
I have no personal experience with this program but I imagine that you are not the first person to request such a thing so there are probably plenty of options out there Youtube is also a good reference source since you can search your phone and see custom things people have done to it. Check out the rom section for an all over makeover for you phone.
Xda's database is intimidating to say the least but sorting through what you need is pretty simplistic Good luck pimping you phone

Is it permanent and auto... I need something like that, I rather not have frequent calls at all (TMI)
Idk if u can completely disable it but long pressing the contact u can remove em in 1 click i will check if they can be disabled and edit the post
Edit: i dont see any option to disable them entirely but deleteing is easy and it deletes the entire frequent call log for that contact and not just one call at a time so if u have (contact name) 15 calls to that contact it deletes all 15 calls and not just 1 call at a time

If you're going to be a douche and cheat on your woman and not have the balls to, you know - be a man and tell her what's up. Then at least put in some effort to cover your tracks instead of being lazy. Delete the frequently called list yourself, manually.
I'll take my infraction if that's what happens. This thread is stupid. Reported.

I think this is a valid topic, regardless of the OP's reasons for wanting to know. I like to show off my phone quite often to demonstrate some of the advantages of Android, and it would be nice not to have sensitive information like that so easily accessible to someone who's just playing around with my phone.

Do most people not know about the apps on the market that hide info like that? If you want to hide certain numbers when they call/text - get a black list app/privacy app or something like that. I like showing off what my phone can do also so I know what you mean. However, I don't allow complete strangers to handle my phone. I don't mind people seeing the name of someone I call often - I'm more concerned about the pictures they might see.
Guys, I use shady sms. It's got a built in call guard and a hidden contact list. Dev is cool too, he responds with help usually same day.
It blocks calls, sms, and hides them in the app. There's no app icon either. To open it, you go to phone, type your secret code, and hit send.

Damn, I was just joking.. Did I touch a spot, did your significant other cheat on you or etc... WOW!
I just want to app that monitors the Frequently Called list and prevents contacts from ever appearing on it without having to manually clear the list.
I know there other members looking for a similar solution to this problem....
Didn't mean to touch a nerve, hope you get your partner back, root their phone or something nice like that! Good luck!
Maybe edit the phone.apk or dialer.apk to get rid of the frequent list all together.
Or it may just be editing a value check for a call to save to the list. That way its always empty.
If you're going to be a jerk to your wife, then at least just get a separate phone. Or maybe you DO want to get caught. If you really cared you would not cheat, and if she's not what you want any more do the right thing and divorce her so she can do what she wants and maybe find someone who respects her without having to be concerned about someone who seems to not care about her(you).
That being said, I would check out Shady SMS, seems to help some ways. I figure the cost is worth it if you don't want to get caught.

I think the app Super Private Conversation hides all communication from certain contacts and it is free on the market.
They changed the name to Private SMS & Call but it works wonders and is free. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.superdroid.spc&hl=en
Alternatively, just use google voice for that purpose. All outgoing calls and text will be hidden within the google voice app.

Just curious is it possible to port the new voice search like siri , to our ics bulids in the meantime we wait for jelly bean ??????

im not talking about s-voice my friend , i'm talking about the new google voice search thats in jelly bean.
I honestly could care less about voice search. The less that people read and type, the dumber they get. It's bad enough that people speak in smiley faces and lol's. Google already auto corrects our spelling.
Samsung or Google voice search?
Not sure he's referring to the Samsung voice search or Google's Jelly Bean improved search.
Jb google search is completely different here is what I believe you want video not the app

Right this is a good question, Can it be done for those of us who would enjoy that feature?

Smiley faces and lols are a good way to help people understand the intent when communicating in a text only environment. Too often people misconstrue what is being said because it sounds too blunt or rude. General language, spelling and grammar are definitely suffering beneath the onslaught of texting slang but don't throw the smiley faces under the bus, they aren't to blame.
But keeping to the topic at hand, voice search, voice texting and voice activate features are very helpful in a number of environments. And most of the voice search engines require that people speak properly as they don't usually respond to slang.
I was referring to text slang. Now that I think about it. If it's better than siri, I'll get it just to crush the feelings of my I phone slaved friends.
i meant google jelly bean new voice search, ported to ics roms if it can be done.

Did you really just fail!!? How could you do this to everyone...
Edit: the correct links are down a couple posts.
I posted this over in the AT&T forum and thought I'd give back a little cause its pretty cool.
I recently posted a question in Q&A about any TV remote apps that can be voice controlled. No luck. I stumbled upon this tasker plugin by Ozkaya that is awesome. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=45572797. It allows you to program your IR remote with Pronto hex codes(many found here http://www.remotecentral.com/ as posted in the Dev's thread).
I combo'd this with Utter! and like magic, I was able to program voice controllable macro's, functions, anything really as long as the hex codes were available. And there is alot of them. I have Verizon Fios and the motorola codes worked for my box even though they weren't the same model. To me, this is an awesome show off tool (and slightly practical if I am eating chicken wings and need to switch between football games!). I literally say "phone" to wake up utter and "channel back" or "ESPN". as a command.
I did nothing here but stumble upon a combo of apps that work great together. If you like the idea please check out the thread and thank the Dev's and support their work. I feel this is one of those gems that slipped back a few pages and got lost. Hope you like it too.
If someone really wants to get tweaky, here is another plugin for Tasker that will initiate the voice recognition in Utter! when the phone is on charge and the stop it when is taken off charge. Its towards the bottom of the thread. http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=34339449.
Congrats using tasker! I hate it! I prefer just writing out a full android app xD

God, it took me hours to figure out how to get Tasker to send a text at a set time and for that have hated Tasker and never delete that profile, but going to try this out. Thanks for posting man

Thanks bro. Its definetly more of a cool show off tool but I searched hard for an app that did it and ccouldn't find one. Tasker is a little tough but this is all premade commands so its a little easier. Still took me a few minutes to set up though. Regardless, I imagine only a few people can this with a phone which makes it cool to me. Hope you like it too.
No problem.
I had a moment of being a complete ass.
Go into a local place that has the TV just way too loud.
Have the phone programmed to send the universal TV off codes and just say "Phone, shut that **** off" and see what happens.
Hey All:
There's some threads about contact recognition, but my issue isn't with Google misspelling a contact.
My one month old daughter's name is Raegan, as distinct from the former president's spelling of the name. Any idea how to make Google interpret texts to my wife, e.g. "How's Raegan doing?" to refer to my daughter and not to Mr. Reagan?
Even if it meant manually correcting the spelling on the watch a few times, I don't mind, but I can't figure out how to correct it on my watch.
Thanks!

I know it's not what you're looking for, but I have been able to successfully (most of the time) spell out words Android won't recognize. You could try it, Ok Google - Send text to [contact] - "how's R-A-E-G-A-N doing, question mark."
In fact I just tried it and it worked. Unfortunately since you're spelling it out for Wear, it won't automatically capitalize the name, and I had no success in dictating "capitol R."
