I don't know if anyone experienced this before but my Nexus 7 seems to have some trouble initializing the touch digitizer after waking up from sleep.
Everytime I wake the tablet up from sleep, the touch digitizer would not register my touch causing me to be stuck on the lockscreen. I don't believe it is a hardware fault because everytime I restart the tablet, the touch digitizer would works normally (until the tablet goes to sleep anyways). I've tried factory resetting the tablet but I'm still experiencing the same lockscreen touch issue, in less frequency...
I was wondering if anyone experience this before?
Any help would be great!

Happened to me before. Restarted the tablet and it would work again. Not sure what the cause of it is though. No problem with my tablet at all, just a bug I guess.
I kept the tablet off for the entire day today and it seems to be back to a usable state... Maybe it's static electricity building up on the screen... if that is even possible... I don't really know... weird thou...

anyone had problem with the screen not responding after waking up?
There's no way to turn off the phone / make it respond unless to unplug the battery and plug it in again. Had this problem on the first GN and my second replacement GN.
Yep, happened to me the other day as well. There was a crash right before which made the phone reboot. Once it came back, the hardware buttons responded fine but the touchscreen was dead until a battery pull.
Hasn't happened since though.
Had this at lunch today also had it a few days ago.
When returning from sleep the touch input seems to be completely unresponsive.
I left mine for a while to see if it recovered, it did, it came up with the crash report for "System Process" The screen was then responding fine.
Weird. This is indeed different to the sleep of death, because the screen comes on.
Although maybe it's related in some way?
This just happened to me, and so I googled to find an answer. It thankfully led me here. It's like you guys described: I just tried unlocking my phone, but the screen was completely unresponsive. Not a single touch would register, even when trying to touch the Power Off option.
I read robaldred's comment, so I decided to try the waiting game. Thankfully, after a few minutes the screen just came on and the device was ready to use. I don't believe I saw a crash report though.
I hope this won't become a serious issue. I'd hate to be stranded at a point when I need to use my phone.
I had this problem too. have you guys used custom notification sounds?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA App
I had this exact problem and I found it was due to Juice Defender (I have the Ultimate version as well). It kept happening after I installed and but since removing it over a week ago no problems.
Just had it happen here, had to pull batt. Using BatteryXL but will keep it on and see if it happens again.
I have a problem with my touch screen.. Sometimes it just not responding any of my inputs and sometimes it just "touch" anything he wants without me touching it.. first place it happened was while charging it with a "chinese 5v/1.2A" charger because i don't know why my original charger exploded.. (It was so loud that i thought something hit the ground..)
The problem dissapeared when i stop charging the phone.. until 2 days ago..
I was undervolting the cpu a little and when i finished the test (with no errors..) my screen when unresponsive at all.. the power and volume buttons worked, even the hardware buttons in the front but the screen wasn't working at all.. Turning the screen on and off for a while do the trick but only for a few seconds..
It happened in stock rom and artmod rom.. but i don't remember too well if in stock rom i was in solid kernel too or not so.. I really don't know if it's hardware of software problem..
Any help please.. ?
I had similar problem + ghost touch with my LG and I think that the problem is hardware.
The resolve of the problem is changing the display ( like most people with the same problem).
In my case after the replacment I have Ghost touch and wondering is this hardware or software problem.
thx i will have to deal with the problems until i have money to repair it.. uwuU..
After I replaced the the whole screen assembly, about 2 cm of the screens right side is almost unresponsive to touch.
It always works, if i touch a spot on the screen that works 100% and then immediately after that touch a spot on the rigtht side.
Sometimes it also register a touch if I try like 10 times.
Could this be software? The phone is not rooted og flashed. I have tried to restore to factory defaults. I'm thinking maybe I could get lucky with a different ROM/Kernel?
I'm also wondering if it is a loose connection to the digitizer? But the I think its wierd that it works when I first "Activate" the screen by touching it on another spot first.
I hope someone can come up with some ideas to try before I open it up again, as it is quite hard to get appart, and I'm worried to brake the new screen.

have the same problem, and i dont think its a software problem you can test the touch screen by using htc help app go to : hardware misbehaving / hardware diagnostics / line drawing test you can view it by drawing lines on screen
have you found a solution to the above problem?
Hello All,
I know there have been a lot of touchscreen issues with the G4 in 2015 but is it still happening for some users? The touch screen issue i have been having is very intermittent and only occurs when you wake the devices up. So when you wake the device no touch input is detected. I can tap any where and it will not register any touches. I will then put the device back to sleep and wake it up again, then it'll work normally.
Not sure if this is normal but is anyone else having this issue? Should i be concerned or RMA the device or is this more of a software bug?
I can use all the diagnostics test tools and it'll pass since the issues is not lagging or missed touches.
Thanks all!
Try to reflash the firmware via lgup or lg flashtool
I have this problem too but it seems more random than just when the screen wakes up and has occurred while I've been in the middle of doing something on my phone. It's simple to solve by turning the screen off and back on again but it's very annoying when it happens.
Yeah, that sounds really annoying....Wonder if it's a bug. Going to try a reflash and retry. Hopefully it'll solve it.
Hi all,
I've recently got this tablet from Google store (and out of stock now).
After installed all things needed, a serious problem has appeared during in use. Its screen unexpectly trembles, pops notification out, runs and closes apps randomly then unable touchscreen at all. These make me crazy even in screen saver, and power button doesn't work sometimes to stop those happenings.
The device hasn't rooted and staying as 'pure' with only afew apps, so I've done erasing system cache partition on recovery mode and factory reset twice to solve this problem.
Nothing happened so far since reset the device but is still unsettling.. and now I just supposed touching screen badly (with sweaty fingers for example) or the screen protect film I affixed since unboxing might cause the problem.
Does anyone faces a problem like this?
Regards,
Allen
If it was greasy fingers my tablet would be completely unusable. Luckily a quick clean sorts any issues that causes.
My first suspicion would be the screen protector, as mine has done similar when there was something touching the screen. Maybe try taking it off and seeing how it goes? You can also turn on show taps in the Developer Options to be able to see what touches the tablet is detecting when it goes mad.
Better than before

Thanks for your reply. Now I've used a BT mouse to match with mine and less touch on the screen apparently. Nothing happened so far.
It's not a problem of hardware I supposed and pretty sure that the screen protector interferes a certain touch as you commented. Still my eyes are keeping on what caused the problem.
