phone constantly restarting on bootup. - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Im running pacman aokp rom which has been running fine for the last couple months. out of nowhere, the phone restarts everytime i power it on and attempt to use it. The power button is also very buggy now.
I wanted to run reinstall the rom but I know its going to restart in the middle of me flashing the rom... so what are my options?

Sounds like your power button is going out. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1958630

This has happened to be before. All I did was take out the battery and continually pressed the power button really fast for about 60 seconds and hasn't reset on since. No reboots or sensitivity.

Many thanks,
how long is it stuck for? should show the clear data button after a few seconds. try force closing the app or maybe a reboot.

It's stuck forever, I waited and waited for more than 15 minutes on the same page without going out, and it's still computing.
I even restarted the phone, took away the battery and inserted it again but the same thing happened.
Really don't know what to do..
UPDATE: It worked for me, didn't know what I did exactly. I removed big apps (Currents) and restarted the phone so many time until I got it, then got the 4.1 update easily.

Nexus bricked after sim switch!

Hi, I hope you can help me with this...
So as I mentioned in the Header, I simply shut down my Nexus, waited for the vibration and then switched my Sim Card. Since then I wasn't able to either Boot/Fastboot it's just completely black.
I tried to take the Battery out for a few Minutes, Connected it to my Laptop without the battery(where it got recognized as Omap4400), tried to follow these instructions: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1760787 , but nothing has changed.

I'm really helpless right now, how can such a small thing like a shutdown have such consequences. I seriously did nothing else(I am on Jelly Bean/rooted).
Were have you tried pulling out the battery, put it back in, then water 10 sec then boot it to fastboot? It is almost impossable removing a similar card would brick a phone

Nope nothing. Tried now several times... had the Battery out for about 15 Minutes now and nothing happens, screen remains just black.
How old is it I would get it replaced as it sounds like something failed

[Q] Wifes Samsung Galaxy 3 wont boot

Hi, my wifes Samsung S3 L710 decided yesterday that is didnt want to work anymore. It was fine in the morning and had full charge by the afternoon it had shut off and will not start anymore.
This is a completely stock version, nothing has ever been done to it after market, she didnt want to let me root her phone. She kept up with the OTA updated from sprint and as far as i know hasnt had one in a while.
So when i take out the battery and reinstall, i can feel it buzz then i press the power button and the samsung logo come up then disappears and phone is off. Same if i press power+menu+vol down i see the Warning about custom OS then off, and power+menu+vol up i see the samsung logo and message on top left saying its booting to recovery then off. We tested the battery and it has a charge, we also tested a new battery and same thing so pretty sure it isnt the battery.
Sorry for the long post but i was wondering if anyone has seen this and if there is anything i can do besides just move on from phone. Thanks in advance.
Could be the connections to the battery

Reboot (hold down Volume Down, Bixby, and Power button together for about 15 seconds). Hit the Volume Up button then connect a USB cable from your phone, run the ODIN program and flash rom

Android 10 Update Bug Screen Flickering

Have a look at this ...
scary
https://youtu.be/2K6OfvVCSus
My 835 did something similar the first "real" restart after Android 10 got installed, went on for ~20-25 seconds I would say, then I pressed the screen on/off button twice, all came back and I could unlock the SIM and continue ... hasn't happened since ... but was indeed scary
Marcher
I had the same problem too. Another reboot cleared it.
Didn't have this issue. But I noticed new battery settings and turned on the "protect battery" feature and now seemingly my sot has improved by a crazy amount I'm not sure if it's a bug.
The feature basically just makes it so your battery won't charge higher than 85%, and then when it says 100% after restart, it's the same as just 85% before. I can't post image for some reason, but I'm currently at 53 minutes of SoT and I'm still on 94%..

Got the same issue randomly (twice since Update), thought itˋs Hardware(GPU) Problem. Iˋm going to do a Clean Android10 Install if i have the time to.
