Hi. I own a Sony xperia as. I was on cm 10.1 RC2 and decided to flash 4.1 stock ftf using flashtool. After many failed attempts I flash yakundu's stock zipaligned and rooted ROM after wiping. But I got the boot animation followed by exclamation mark in a triangle.
Luckily the recovery was still accessible so I reflashed cm 10.1 rc 2.
After this I tried several other 4.1 ROMs like trinity etc but the same thing happens again and again.
Any idea how I can go back to 4.1?
Thanks!

what are you wiping before flashing?

I've switches from 4.2 to 4.1 before why is this happening only now ?
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
its a repair process that checks and fixes anything wrong
flash stock 96 firmware and leave it be
Sent from my Xperia S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Flashed and waited. The phone just switched off.
Meanwhile tried flashing 10.2 alpha 1 and had no problems.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
Hmm
Well do you have any mounting issues on a stock 96 kernel
Sent from my Xperia S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No i was able to mount/unmount system data etc while on doomkernel v6
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
Did it boot after it turned off
And what did you do when you first saw it
Sent from my Xperia S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Not by itself. I had to do it.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
When I first saw it I turned the phone off immediately then booted it again and heaved a sigh of relief when I confirmed that the recovery was working.
Sent from my Xperia S using xda app-developers app
Well charge your battey , load a stock kernel and leave it , and if your lucky you may get it to boot
It is part of the kernel, and must not be disturbed otherwise it may result in a hard brick
Or so rumoured
Sent from my Xperia S using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Will look into it

I first had the same exclamation mark when I flashed back the stock .96 rom, and now having it every time I reboot the phone. As well as phone is ok, I started ignoring it.

Guys, I know what he's talking about. He's not talking about the wrench and spanner logo with the bar at the bottom. It's a different image by itself, which just has an exclamation mark with the phone lying under it. Like the dead Android when your flashing goes wrong. Except, all the flashing was successful, it booted through the kernel, but was unable to boot into system. That's what I think is happening. I tried mounting and unmounting and re mounting his system, but nothing worked. In the recovery, flashing is successful, but it's unable to boot into the system.

I don't
The poster is my friend and I saw it first hand. I wanted to clarify that it wasn't the flashing logo, and hoped to find a solution from you guys. Gonna try flash tool and see what happens, though.

I saw a couple of these threads around xda. Just wanted to share and see what you guys come up with.

All you do is just post and complete this sentence "You know you're rooted when.."
Examples:
masaidjet: You know you're rooted when you tell a neighborhood hoe to " wipe her cache "
wscott9903: You know you're rooted when 1/2 of your apps require superuser permission.
feralicious: You know you're rooted when your spouse tells you they're leaving you and taking the kids and you think "perfect timing, (insert dev name here) just released a new ICS ROM".
jayochs: you know you're rooted when your phones buggy as hell lol
putney1477: You know you're rooted when, you husband, wife, significant other gets a new phone and says, don't you dare come near this phone, it works fine!
jackpot08: You know your rooted when when spend more time flashing roms than using your phone"

if you are planning to root your phone, i'd suggest get TWRP recovery instead of CWM, a lot more friendly to use.

First thing I would try is download the app faster fix from the market. Open it and set your region and see if that helps. If not post in the roms thread to see if others have had a similar issue.

First check to see if the GPS icon is in the toolbar on top when you have maps running, if so then you can try resetting google frameworks and reinstalling maps. If not it's a little deeper problem and you'll need to unroot your phone and install a stock ROM using ODIN. I just went through this, there's a good tutorial on this site just do a search. Once you do that then you can flash root 66 to get your root back and then install whatever rom you want, GPS should be fixed. Interestingly I had the same problem after flashing Wicked so there maybe something in there that's breaking the GPS.

Hello, I've been stucking at Sony Ericsson logo at the start and can't get into cwm recovery. I try to flash cyanogen 10.1 but it say "installation aborted" so, instead of recovering my stock rom from cwm backup, I chose reboot. Now, I'm stucking at Sony Ericsson logo. Somebody help!! How can I get into Recovery mode again?

Yes, you can use this flashtool as well. But make sure you find a proper guide for the particular flash tool.
And the above app is not mine. All credit goes to the dev who made it.
