I found an app that lets me "replace" my internal sdcard with my external
"Root External 2 Internal SD"
Directions are to move my Android folder to the external card and then run the app
I also found an app called "AppMgr III"
Are there any disadvantages to moving my external sdcard to the internal?
foldermount works better imho.......root to external on custom roms is a bit tricky
I ended up just moving the whole android folder over to the external. Then deleted the contents of the data and obb folders in the internal and reboot. All is well

Really need an app!
We really need an app that will do this easily. Or, google needs to make this function a part of the OS. It should be an option where to install the apps. imho

Whenever I use a TW based ROM, I am able to use the file explorer to view both directories. Upon opening file explorer, it would default to the directory for internal storage. A folder in this directory labeled external_sd would then lead to the directory for the external SD card as advertised.
I realize however that CM9 and AOKP rename internal sd to emmc and external to sd card. The issue is, when using a file browser such as estrongs, the root directory defaults to sd card (aka the external storage) and it is impossible find the emmc. When downloading zips from the browser, the files are automatically saved to the emmc (internal) under the download folder, but on CM9/AOKP I can't figure out how to move files from emmc to sd card because I set TWRP to look at external only. Help?

If you enable root explorer in the settings of esfile explorer (free app) u can go to the internal like on tw roms

Try Astro File Manager, it comes up for me just fine.
I don't understand
Hello everyone.
I'm really sorry if I am repeating some other thread or if I am asking questions at the wrong forum. If so, please point me to the right direction.
I searched a lot on the internet about my issue but I can't find any solution for it.
I have a Moto Razr XT910 GSM and just installed AOKP based on Android 4.2.2.
I followed the instructions I found over the internet. They are the same, almost everywhere. So it worked just fine.
I wiped out delvik, cache and internal storage, then created a slot-2 partition with 1GB, where I flashed the ROM. It booted perfectly, and everything was working just fine until I started receiving an error message when I tried to install apps from Google Play. It said I had no space left on my internal storage.
The device I have comes with 8GB internal sdcard. I use my 32GB external sdcard to store music and it was not mounted when I flashed the ROM.
Now, when I go to system settings / storage, I can see I have two entries of internal storage: one with 0,98 GB of space, 150 MB available; and another with 8GB, 5,89GB available, which I can't access and neither can the OS. All the apps are being installed on the 0,98GB internal storage.
When I connect to my PC, it shows two mass storages: one, the external sdcard with 32GB; and the other, the internal sdcard with 8GB, but the Android OS does not recognize almost 6GB of it.
It is not an excess of files or trash, or rest of old OS files, nor anything like that. And all of the sudden I have this icon telling me my "storage space is running out". How can it be if I still have Almost 6GB of free memory? I don't understand,
Can anyone explain to me what is happening? Is there anything I can do to solve this problem?
Thank you very much.

Edit:
When I mounted my external sdcard, the OS started to install the app files on it, and not on my internal sdcard.
Also, my root explorer shows something wrong with the sdcard, and sdcard-ext. The files inside the sdcard folder are those from my external sdcard, and vice-versa.
Maybe that is the problem, but I am don't know how to solve it.

Hi I'm having problems with moving my apps from internal storage to my sd card seems titanium backup does it but the apps are still on my internal storage I also tried rOM Toolbox pro and same result I'm trying to figure out why my apps won't move to my sd card since my internal memory is being all used up I can't download more . Also the apps in the playstore don't work either

there is an app called "APP BACKUP AND RESTORE". Download this app on your old phone. Open the app and transfer all desired app onto your SD card. Next, install the same app on your new phone. there is and option to restore all apps from SD card to your new phone. I've done this and it took about 10-15 minutes (depending on how many apps you are trying to transfer). HOPE THIS HELPS

The newer Samsungs are different in how they handle the SD card. They have their 2 GB internal memory, and therefore see the 16 GB internal memory mistakenly as the "SD card". Your actual SD card is mounted as a different partition altogether.
Someone help me out with this, but I don't think the standard App2SD will work because of this design. Somewhere out there is a mod that allows you to fake swap your internal memory with your SD card, but I've never tried it. I don't run a lot of huge applications so I haven't run into the issue, just seen it around.
Hopefully some searching will help with what I mentioned above or someone else can chime in with more experience.
I know Galaxy Nexus doesn't have any sdcard. But its internal memory does have a mnt/sdcard which the phone treats as SDCARD.
Say you have an app, you move that app on SDCARD, for a phone with real SDCARD, the app will work slow from SDCARD....
(For e.g. just after boot, apps on SDCARD take a while to load, apps on internal memory load fast...)
But say you move that same app to (virtual) SDCARD on your Galaxy Nexus , so
Q1. Will that app work slow.???
Q2. Will moving an app with widget to (virtual) SDCARD (which is actually internal.memory), disable Widgets?
Q3. If there's no SDCARD, then why there should be any option like move to SDCARD then. Why Google wants me to do that same old thing of managing apps, every time going to.manage app settings.
Why not give less strain to my brain. Don't you feel like that???
Q4. On my current android, moving any app to SDCARD increases free space on my internal memory. Does same happens when you move an app to SDCARD on your Galaxy Nexus???
Sdcard on your gn is just a directory. You wouldn't be moving it off your internal flash so, no to all of the above. Actually it wouldn't go anywhere. Your app that will let you "move to SD card" only sees it as an option because of the legacy symbolic link. In other words, Google has set up links to make software that is looking for SD cards function properly.
Guys,
After this update i have a issue.
This version add a option to move app to sd card.
But i did some tests, i noticed that the game was moved to internal sdcard. Only moved into folder, not cards.
Normally, the app data stay in system/data and this option only move to emulated/0/android/data.
Its a fake option.
My external sd card stayed with same free space that before.
Guys,
What do you think?

I know. But look this. Wild blood app has 700mb. I moved to sd card and only moved app to internal sdcard. Only moved system/app to emulated/0/android/data.
Never move to ext sdcard...... i think this is a issue
Sometimes when I flash a new rom files disappear but they are still taking up memory. I used Es File explorer to find them and deleted them. I was able to find the files but it will say it cannot find the location so it cannot delete them.
They are mostly music files and .zip files from roms, is their any way to delete them or format my phone without having to having to reinstall a bunch of stuff?
This happens because the new rom you flashed created a new partition on your phone.
2 fixes.
1. Restore previous rom and delete the internal storage. Our move it to the external so card.
2. If you don't mind losing the data. Format your internal SD card (media) in CWM

If I format my internal SD card will the phone still work fine? I don't mind losing any apps/media/files etc.
Yeah if you format the internal SD card data/media it will clear the space the phone will still work, but app data will be lost.
