Is there a way to make the home screen display one wallpaper in portrait orientation, and a different one in landscape?
Not that I know of. I don't think this is possible... or very efficient, since it'd constantly have to switch it when orientation changes.
I think the kii keyboard was able to do it, with backgrounds specific to the orientation of the keyboard

Is there a way to enable landscape mode in our STOCK launcher WITHOUT sliding the keypad but just rotating the phone by 90° to the left or right?
(please don't recommend me other launcher, I love SE's one and I won't change it)

Possibly, maybe through a hack to the app
What I find really annoying is when it's on the dock everything is properly landscape, contacts, dialler etc, but when you're on a call you only get a portrait version stuck on its side!

I like to select a picture as my wallpaper, but setting it as a wallpaper it zooms in unnecessarily. Has anyone seen this? it is happening on my wife's phone as well.
I am wondering if this is an issue with Touch Wiz, the Gallery, or something else. I have tried it on ALL the launchers and that hasn't helped. I have also tried to lock the wallpaper scrolling, and setting it as vertical and horizontal.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
You may need to resize the picture to use it properly as a wallpaper

Wt do you mean? I have always been able to take the picture from the gallery an set as wall paper. the phone scaled it properly. This phone it seems like it thinks the screen is bigger than it is. I guess I could try and scale it my self....
Look for wallpaper wizardrii in the market. Its free. Use it to set your wallpaper. Select stretch to portrait.
I am using gin2jellybean i very happy with it... However the default launcher auto rotates.. And when in landscape orientation there are is a bug in the homescreen.. Now i am wondering is there a way to lock the launcher in portrait mode with a line of code in the build.prop.. I not want to have a different launcher or an external app so thats i hope to code the buils.prop if possible
Go to portrait mode then turn off auto rotate

I use a lot of custom HD wallpapers I make from scratch using pretty much any photo editing program. If you make a wallpaper that's exactly the dimensions of your phones native resolution, there is no zooming-in or distortions. However, I don't always do this, and I'm usually generally okay with the results.
What is the resolutions for the note 2 lock screen? And for the home screen??? I'm running jelly thunder so I have a scrolling wallpaper on home screen... I guess I can use Photoshop and make wallpapers if I known the exact resolutions...

Dimensions for a wallpaper image should be 720x1280 (width, height) to avoid any cropping.
I have a wallpaper that's designed to be looked at in a landscape orientation, which I'm fine with it showing on it's side during portrait mode, but when I move my phone to landscape, it moves the wallpaper adding black bars to the side, essentially ruining the wallpaper.
Can I make my wallpaper static, regardless of screen orientation?
EDIT: Added screenshots, for hopefully more clear intentions..
Is your wallpaper scrollable?

It looks like you're issue is that the wallpaper is not rotating, or am I missing something?

Well, no, it is rotating - I'd like to see it static, remaining as it is in portrait mode, when I flip to landscape.. I want the dock icons and status bar, persistent search bar, etc, all to keep acting as they normally do (shown in the screenshot above), but the wallpaper to remain as shown in portrait, regardless of screen orientation..
If I flip it 270 degrees, then it'll appear upside down, which I'm also fine with (corrective behavior to hold it the right way lol)

Yarr.. you edited your post after I quoted it lol
It is scrollable, but I only have one home screen/page, and one set of paged dock icons, so it wouldn't matter..
It has to do with the size of the picture being used. If you have more than one screen a picture that is oversize and scrollable won't have those black bars.

I don't think you understand what my end goal is..
What I want is the way the wallpaper is in the portrait picture in the first post, to be static, regardless of which way I hold the device and which orientation it is. The wallpaper shouldn't move, or rotate with the device..
No, I understand what your end goal is, but static orientation is a live wallpaper thing. It is coded into the wallpaper. None of the main launchers offer it as an option. And I doubt any of the ROMs do. So the two obvious options were converting it to a live wall paper or some photoshop, hence my question.
Luckily, someone created an app that treats static wallpapers as live wallpapers and thus can force them into a static orientation.
