Ghost Armor Carbon Fiber Review

Ordered the Ghost Armor Carbon Fiber skin on Tuesday and it was just delivered today. I ran over to the kiosk here in my local mall and had the guy there install it since I'm all thumbs when it comes to this.
First impressions:
Carbon Fiber feels great and adds pretty much no bulk. The screen protector is great, Ive used Ghost Armor on most of my electronic screens and this one is no different from the others. Ghost Armor is a wet application, but has NO orange peel like other wet application protectors. Being day 1 there is a slight haze, but this typically goes away after a few days.
The battery cover has 1 cutout for the "Samsung" logo. I would assume this would line up perfectly assuming you have the standard battery door. I am using the extended battery and door so the cutout was slightly off. The guy at the kiosk enlarged the cutout so it appeared correct.

Hi! great review! But can you take more macro shots of the front screen protector with different angles? Thanks!

That looks pretty sweet, do they sell them directly at the kiosks or do you have to order them ?

I got mine online, the guy at the kiosk stated they have ordered them but they didn't anticipate them to be there for at least another week.

looks great.
i loved the look and feel of my ghost armor screen protector that i had on my droid x but it did really funny things when you looked at it with polarized sunglasses on and i finally had to strip it.

What color is that? gun metal?

I've never used anything like this on a phone, (always used a case) but I love the idea of the slim fit/no bulk. Also, this looks pretty tough.
Whats it like putting these on? PITA? Not bad?
EDIT: Just ordered one, thanks for review/pics, and also the code. Lets hope its not an epic ordeal to install.

I think it does. I had this same carbon on my nexus s and it became better with age.

I didn't install but watching the guy it took him 5 minutes for the whole thing.

Does the pouch come with
Saw a white pouch in the photos just wondering if it's included.

That white pouch is an extra $5 at the kiosk I went to. They didn't have the galaxy nexus armour yet, there getting it next week.

I just got this yesterday and its amazing! I had the black tpu case from Amazon with the S on the back and this one blows that one out of the water!!! And it's cheaper!

it is a nice case. we sell these at my store CONSTANTLY. theres also a purpley transparent back (purpley is a word now), and one thats solid pink where the black is, and see through pink on the back. i personally got the carbon fiber one with the kickstand, but now im using a fly grip and friggin love it

I had the same one from Amazon and prefer this HANDS down! Its slimmer and more comfortable.

I saw a video review and it shows the clear part having a purple tint on it?
If someone has any hi-res pics of the case w/ phone, i'd be grateful.

There are some which have different tinted colored backs, but the one pictured is clear frosted.

I also have the S one and thought it was too thick. Is this one thinner than that one?

My casemate pop started warping so I got this one. Hands down my favorite case now. Fit is great and the buttons are easy to press.

Most plastics will take a tint using that $1 RIT dye just in case anybody wants to customize a clear case.

This is the case I rocked the most when I was using my E4GT. I hated TPU cases but for some reason I friggin' LOVED this one.

Basically you buy the dye used for clothes & soak your case in it for any given amount of time until you achieve the desired depth of color.
It comes in a liquid:

Well a few weeks ago I purchased a Duck Tape Sheet (8.5" x 11") in chrome & attempted to use that to cover my back battery door. Unfortunately my exacto knife was so dull that the edges came out all crappy.
You can find these sheets in various colors and patterns for about $1.99 at Michaels craft store or some office supply stores. just make sure you have a sharp cutting tool lol.
You can also use adhesive drawer liner contact sheets but those come in a whole roll & that may be more then you need.

No more cases for me

I have stop using cases for quite sometime. The main reason is that here in Cambodia it is so affordable and convenient to get gadget flim wrap.
In the past I only use either clear and frosted flims. I opt for colored flim for my SIII.

the point of cases are to protect your phone.
if you want it to just look good, then i think your idea is great.
but when the phone drop face down then i dont think there would be any protection

Is that a wrap on the side as well? if so then how it feel and does it look like it will peel easily? I could use one on my pebble blue phone where the bezel is purple!

I'm going to give the official flip case a try once I finally get my Verizon version of the SGS3 here in the US. I'm bummed out that it doesn't have a magnetic clasp or anything to keep it closed, but at the same time it's a full on case so the phone should obviously handle drops much better. That all being said, the phone is gorgeous and I'm not gonna want keep it hidden! I have the full protection from Verizon so whatever happens to my phone I'll just get another one anyways.

I'm still on the fence. At this point though I'm leaning more towards no case.

I actually think my white S3 looks better with a Matt black case, because I like the white border around the camera, flash and speaker which contrasts against the black case, and then the black border around edge of phone, I mean not everyone will like that but I dog

I doesn't peel off easily and yes the side is wrapped. So far all the film that the shop doesn't love residue when it is removed.
It is a rough textured. Sort of like mildly used sand paper.

[Review] tpu bumpers

Ok just got my bumpers in mail today and i think they are great especially beacause all 5 were only $12 shipped. the down side is i had to get from china and it took 17 days. The back side is a pretty sturdy material and the front is softer for slipping over the phone. They feel nice and smooth in the hand but not slippry. So here are some pics i took with my old sII
I was surprised they were packaged pretty nicely

nice colors
They add very little bulk
The cut outs are all perfect
It protects all the edges so should give pretty good fall protection but still shows a lot of the phones beauty
I wish i had these before i dropped my phone but oh well thats what insurance is for and heres a link to them on ebay

Do you think before you send it back in to insurance you can do a drop test since your screens already cracked? Lol worse case you have an idea how much protection it gets might as well get as most out of your insurance claim (lol worth a shot!)

How do the buttons feel with the case on? Are you able to feel the button "clicks" easily?
In the ebay pics, it shows an entire corner of the phone somewhat exposed, on all of yours that hole seems to not be there, that's a good thing as that exposed corner is what was preventing me from ordering them originally.

yea not sure about the links pictures i was happy to see there wasnt any holes tho and the buttons work as if there wasnt even a case there. very easy to feel and click. and i will do a drop test as soon as asurion mails my new one but as of now they dont have any so i am being careful not to make it worse cuz who knows how long it will be til they get them in

Fit extended battery?
Has anybody tried one of these bumpers with an extended battery? I'm getting the QCell 4200mah battery now that it has built in NFC and I know the covers are bigger. I'm just worried about protecting the front edges from scratches.

I got my self a pack 2 tone color bumpers 5 for 12 from hong kong with a white carbon fiber back the bumpers are amazing. The fit is small lip on the front and back to keep the screen and camera lense off of surfaces. The button response is flawless, it looks sexy and it fits snug. Im so happy with this purchase. Im currently using the black and red my fav color choice for some it only took 7 days to get to me in california

Double Dip... in full grey!

We have all seen the official HTC double dip case and most of us hate that red and grey color scheme. Was just on the HTC site and looked at the case and saw that one of the screenshots showed a full gunmetal grey double dip case. Can't find it anywhere though. Does anyone know when HTC will be releasing this one?

If it's really that big of a deal, you can probably use vinyl dye to change it to all black or all grey. I've been using Duplicolor's vinyl dye on a lot of plastic and TPU with no issue.

I had this case in OE style and took it back, it's kind if cheaply built.
This is how they should show it, no felt inside and weird clicking slots.
Plus sharp edges grab the screen.

What would be even better is if we were able to swap out the actual metal strips on the phone itself.

I do like it a lot more in all gray. I wonder when it will be available in the US

Especially with the aluminium body I feel like if there's anything in there to scratch the phone it will scratch all the way down as your sliding it in.

Which is precisely why I'm stuck waiting for the full grey version. I would hate to pull out my One on 11/30 and give someone the wrong impression

Lol, HTC photoshopped their own add and removed their logo and the buttons. Yes that's how it should have been built.
That's just sooooo funny.

Just to let you all know, the Double Dip in Grey is available for pre-order on Mobile Fun now. I'll probably still buy it but I wish I hadn't already bought the red and white one lol

Is there no news about this case ?
