Ok, just got back from a VZW store and picked up a wireless charge back cover for my phone. I did not purchase the charging pad because I felt I might be able to find one cheaper. In fact, I might even have one that I used for my Wii remotes. My question is, does it matter what brand of charging pad I use? Don't they all use the same technology (aside from the back cover)? Shouldn't any charging pad work?
Thanks
i seen some were that the lg g pro is equiped to do wirless charging? It did not come with the base for it or anything, was wondering if that was true or not. I have a base that came with the nokia 920, would love it if i could use wireless charging on my new phone. Thanks for any one that can answer this question.
You have to buy the $50 Quick Cover Folio case: it comes with a new backcover that is compatible with wireless chargers.

Nope lgog pro supports wireless charging out of the box saw several unboxing videos that confirm this.

Yes, the original back cover supports wireless charging. Working on my LG WCP-300.

Maybe the first LGOG Pros didn't originally support wireless charging and they changed that later on. In any case, I stand corrected.
k cool good to know, i just got mine the other day. one thing though why didnt it come with the charger for it. When i bought the nokia 920 it came with the wireless charging bad with it? hope i got the latest version that is cool to know though. thanks everyone for the replies.

The original Korean version has 2 batteries included therefor it needs separate Quich Cover with wireless charging support. AT&T E980 though has 1 battery but supports wireless charging with stock cover
yep tried it this morning and it worked. kinda sucks though it didn't come with charging pad. Nokia 920 dose.
I have a hp touchstone for touchpad. Can I use it for OGP?Noway?

I think so. You need a high output wireless charger or charging will be slow.

The Optimus G Pro supports the Qi standard for wireless charging. The Touchstone docks do not use the Qi standard.

You are right but tell me is it true that using wireless charging to reduce battery life? The lider Huawei said about it and does not recommend to use wireless chargings.

Not sure if that's true, but wireless charging does seem to occur at a slower rate which should be better for battery health overall.

I agree with you, bro ))). I have read that information "The lider Huawei said about it and does not recommend to use wireless chargings" from one Russian site and I think it is true because many people supposes same. I think the wireless charging reduces battery life.
Anyone find a good one? Its QI compatible so I imagine most would work.
The nexus one works fine. Haven't had any issues with it.

I use ghost 100 for my new droid maxx
The nexus one is very positional with my maxx. I prefer the $39.99 LG pad that Verizon is selling in stores though. Very light and small.

Haven't ordered it yet, but I'm looking at this one on Amazon due to price and that I like how it holds the entire phone (and isn't a balancing act).
http://www.amazon.com/GMYLE-Generat...d=1377320358&sr=8-25&keywords=qi+charging+pad
The Ghost100 fits nice with the maxx. The one above "GMYLE" the phone is going to hang off the bottom of the charger. There is also a anker branded one which I sell alot of there products and will say its a really nice product.
The charging point on the razr ultra and maxx are higher up on the phone. Maybe 1/3rd of the way down. Where as the GMYLE is centered. The anker if you check is a little higher up.
I just have been putting my phone sideways on the ghost 100 without issue and it doesnt have any balance issues.
It doesnt have the magnets like ive seen in some past that center the phone though.
I'm using the Nokia wireless charger. I like the flat ones compared to the ones that hold the phone at an angle. Seems to do the job!

My Samsung charging pad that I had for the S4 works. I have to slide it down a little lower so it doesn't sit in the middle of the charging pad, but it still works.
Last year, I bought an Energizer dual-position Qi charger to use with my Bionic. The battery cover required for inductive charging made the Bionic too big to fit into my TPU case and I wasn't really impressed with wireless charging, so it went into the drawer.
Yesterday, I hauled out the charger to try with my shiny new Maxx. I'm still not impressed. The phone has to be placed very exactly, and the blue lights on the charger illuminate even when the battery isn't actually charging.
I have the bumper on my phone, not a full case. Could that be the problem?
Here's the link to the charger I bought on Amazon. (It was $29.99 at the time with free Prime shipping, not $90 as currently listed.)

I just ordered TYLT VU charging pad for my Maxx http://tylt.com/vu/
I have the older LG pad thats big and flat and the Maxx hangs halfway off of the bottom just to get it to charge, where the VU charging pad has 3 coils built in for charging and it also lets the phone sit at a 45 degree angle.
I think since the Maxx's coil seems to be in between the upper and middle third of the back, and not in the center of the device, many of those charging pads will require correct positioning to work properly. I also have the Samsung pad and since that has the coil in the center, you have to shift the Maxx down like half an inch or so. Hopefully the TYLT VU will work properly, since you won't be able to re-position the phone easily.

Just got my TYLT VU today and it works great with the maxx. The VU is definitely the nicest charging pad I have ever seen. Guess I'll be selling my old LG pad now.

Great - sounds good. Did you order direct, as I notice that they're OOS and I don't see it on Amazon.

I ordered from Verizon. The price is a little more but that didn't bother me much. I'll sell my old LG pad to offset the cost a little anyway.

I have the nokia one. Works great. I like the bigger size (than the LG one). I would really like a pad that was bigger then the phone, I think that would make everything much easier.

My LG pad is the older one that is bigger than the phone. It's not the round one that they sell now. But since the charging coil is directly in the center I had to have 1/3 of my Maxx hanging off the bottom of the LG pad to get the phone to charge. The TYLT pad has 3 coils so it will work with any phone with multiple placements.
This is the LG pad I have: http://www.lg.com/us/cell-phone-accessories/lg-WCP-700
Bought the LG puck at a Verizon store and it charges my Maxx through my Otterbox. Very impressed.
Got a Nokia qi charger from AT&T for $25. Its a bit small (and the coil is centered) but it works just fine. In fact, its small enough to potentially be able to be turned into a car dock charger...
If you guys dont want to mess around with the position of the phone or have half of it hanging off the base, zens makes a charger that has 7 coils and you can literally just throw the phone on the mat and walk away. It also shuts down when the phone is fully charged, rather than overcharge, overheat, or drain the battery like some of the cheaper models. Its reasonably price as well. Ive seen it for $48.

I wound up returning the one off amazon for the Vu as I'm not going to have a balancing act every time I go to sleep and need to charge my phone.
Hello,
Is there any wireless charging accessory for LG Optimus G (E975)
I made this modification to get wireless charging: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426123

Did you use this modification? Does it really work? and is it work just in several centimeters or more?
