Wireless Charging??!! - LG Optimus G (International)

Hello,
Is there any wireless charging accessory for LG Optimus G (E975)

I made this modification to get wireless charging: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2426123

Thanks for your useful link
Did you use this modification? Does it really work? and is it work just in several centimeters or more?

Ok I thought induction charger like wcp-300 is compatible with our LGOG

Good, wanna try this.

[Q] wireless charging for the g pro

i seen some were that the lg g pro is equiped to do wirless charging? It did not come with the base for it or anything, was wondering if that was true or not. I have a base that came with the nokia 920, would love it if i could use wireless charging on my new phone. Thanks for any one that can answer this question.
You have to buy the $50 Quick Cover Folio case: it comes with a new backcover that is compatible with wireless chargers.

Maybe the first LGOG Pros didn't originally support wireless charging and they changed that later on. In any case, I stand corrected.
k cool good to know, i just got mine the other day. one thing though why didnt it come with the charger for it. When i bought the nokia 920 it came with the wireless charging bad with it? hope i got the latest version that is cool to know though. thanks everyone for the replies.

The original Korean version has 2 batteries included therefor it needs separate Quich Cover with wireless charging support. AT&T E980 though has 1 battery but supports wireless charging with stock cover
yep tried it this morning and it worked. kinda sucks though it didn't come with charging pad. Nokia 920 dose.

I think so. You need a high output wireless charger or charging will be slow.

The Optimus G Pro supports the Qi standard for wireless charging. The Touchstone docks do not use the Qi standard.

You are right but tell me is it true that using wireless charging to reduce battery life? The lider Huawei said about it and does not recommend to use wireless chargings.

Not sure if that's true, but wireless charging does seem to occur at a slower rate which should be better for battery health overall.

I agree with you, bro ))). I have read that information "The lider Huawei said about it and does not recommend to use wireless chargings" from one Russian site and I think it is true because many people supposes same. I think the wireless charging reduces battery life.

[Q] hacking wireless charging

Hello,
I am looking for some information about e975's electronic.
I know it is not provided with the wireless charging.
However, when opening, it's easily to see both nfc connectors (which are abnormally more space than those Nexus 4). On the motherboard, I can see 4 pads divided into four blocks square. The two upper pads are connected to nfc connectors.
I guess the two lower plots were planned to test the wireless charging in debug if it had been implemented.
I plan to hack the Nexus 4 coil for use on the optimus. However, I wonder if optimus G can support wireless charging with its original components.
One of the reserved plot to wireless charging is connected to the mass. Is this a normal configuration?
Thank you for your help.
Add wireless charging to Optimus G
Hello everyone,
I reponds to myself.
By searching the documentation, the system depends on the wireless-charging BQ51051b component used by the Nexus 4.
The component is independent of the rest of the motherboard and is connected directly to the charging port on the motherboard.
The samsung's wireless-charging uses the same components as the Nexus4.
As an attachment here wirless charging I installed on my lg optimus g. :highfive:
The system is integrated well enough under the cover of the optimus g.
If anyone is interested I do a tutorial.
The advantage is that the load is done by by standard IQ.
The change is not expensive: 15 € for the coil nexus4 and 6 € for wireless-charging sytem for Samsung.
For less than 30 € and a few accessories you can take advantage of wireless charging.
Have fun.

Good job!
Since this is connected to the motherboard, it would be possible for the G2 also right?
Would be nice if you could supply a little tutorial and maybe example parts on ebay/where you got them (though international sellers would be best).
PLEASE... post tutorial

I have the opportunity to test on a GS2. I will try it soon.
It is possible to make the change on all GSM using the 5v usb. After, it is a matter of convenience or space in the phone to install addon.
But it must be possible. And I'm pretty sure I'm complicated life for nothing, but I do not want to lose my optimus g.
See you soon.
Tutorial?

I think all devices come with multi-voltage adapters these days. This one will work fine on 240V.

[Questions] Regarding the D855 LG3

Good morning.
Im interested in purchasing the LG G3, the version on my country is the D855.
I also want to buy a wireless charger, but does the D855 already have the wireless chip built in the back cover?
And does anyone know a good charger that isnt the official LG G3 wireless charger?
Thanks
No it doesn't, but you can buy the quick circle cover which replaces the back cover too, and that has wireless charging.
As for chargers, I can only give you links to what I've read about as I've never used any.
Anyway, here they are:

I own a D855 and a wireless charger. I do not use it currently, but I have checked and it works.
LG D855 does indeed have Qi wireless charging right out of the box. I currently use it with LG's Qi charger.
More details here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2771886
My D855 has wireless charging out of the box (with the standard backplate). I've used it with the LG charger and a Qumox wireless charger. They work generally about the same standard, but make sure you use a charger with a higher amperage such as the one that came with the G3 (1.8A or higher).
One trick I have found to make the G3 charge more reliably when using wireless charging is to have the phone unlocked when placing it on the charger and tapping the screen once it says "Wireless Charging" to stop the screen from timing out automatically. Then leave the phone for a couple of seconds then double tap the status bar to turn off the screen yourself. I find doing it this way avoids the infinite loop of beeps and notifications when done normally (which LG seriously needs to fix)

Both phones at the same time? Don't think that exists for QI, since you need one coil per device. You would have to go with 2 separate chargers.
Hello wargreymon89, i mean a charger dock compatible for both devices
Any QI charger is good for it. Just remember that Quick Charge is slower than wired charging, it's about 700 mAh.
