First, I recommend you flash Elemental X in recoveries instead of GOO.IM amanger, download it from the developer's xda thread here, and flash it in recoveries.
Which AOKP are you using? The Official one in this thread which is the same as the on AOKP's own website? or the Unofficial one posted here on XDA?
The Official AOKP is currently based on CM CAF Kernel, which means you should use CAF ROM with it, ElementalX is not going to work with CM CAF based ROMs so if you are on this version of AOKP I would stay away from ElementalX for now.
The Unofficial AOKP is based on stock AOSP Kernel and work fine with ElementalX, If this is version you are on I would recommend you get Elemental X 1.8 Beta as other users have said it provides really good battery life.
Thank for the help but I have a few questions
What is the difference between installing in recoveries and goo.I'm
And would I want to install aokp first, then elementals or vice versa.
Would I have to completely uninstall too in order to not use it for the installation
I think I initially tried installing it in recovery mode but it couldn't see the target file

Installed CM 7.0.3.
Interested in flashing some non stock kernels.
I would like to find the stockkernal [Kernel] 2.6.37.4 [email protected] #27, so that I can easily reflash it.
Unable to find it.
Appreciate a link to a download site for this kernal.
Thanks
I'm not sure about the latest version, but you should check the OP of the nightlies thread in development. There's a link to the stock kernel, I'm just not sure if its the latest. Alternatively, you could just reflash the rom without wiping data.
I guys,
I'm new to this ROM things.
I want to install a ROM that don't bring me problems or bugs, and that got embedded all the usefull stuff.
At this stage, is better installing CyanogenMod 7.1 KANG RC-3.0 or Cy4noobsMod-7.1.3.1??
Which is more stable and has no bugs??
Or do you recommend me another ROM?
I currently have GB 2.3.5 Stock Rom via sammobile.com
Thanks =)
I would recommend CM 7.2 RC1.
It's the most stable CyanogenMod for the gio right now and works just fine.
I would not recommend any other cyanogen, as they all have some issues right now.
If you want something closer to stock rom, go for particle rom.
You'll find all of them toghether with directions in the developers section here.

Hey all. I am about to install the newest JB based ParanoidAndroid, on my HTC One X. I got everything ready etc.
BUT, in the thread I could not find anything about which kernel is the best to use? I have though about TripNDroid's 3.x kernel, but is it working?
I am very confused about this kernel thing.. Anything you guys can recommend?
Regards
Hi guys, I'm new on this board and I just wanted a ask a few question about this rom. Currently I'm using the Xylon 2.3.3 and I'm loving it so far, running beautifully smooth. I just got a question about the gapps, I've installed the 2013-2-15 gapps with all the photosphere stuff, however there is a newer version gapp which is 20130301, should I update to that?
Also is the kernel that it came with any good? or should I change it to AK purity like a lot of user have said to make it run a lot better.
It's safe to update, just flash over the current gapps.
As far as the kernel goes, most users report great things from the AK kernel so it's worth a shot.
For future reference, please use the corresponding Pre-existing ROM thread to ask such questions. There is no need to initialize a completely new thread.

thanks I will in the future. btw I was just checking the kernel version. It seems like the rom has already built in with the ak kernel purity.030. Correct me if I'm wrong.
If that's what your about tab says then yeah.
I'm using Samsung Galaxy s3 i747 d2att....just flashed "[ROM][KERNEL][4.4.2/4.3] Quantum v3.21 & QuantumKernel 1/16". In the about phone settings is the option to update CM nightlies, same as a normal rom from the CM nightly does. This option seems to work as it does bring up available CM nightly roms for download. This Quantum rom is CM based. My question is "should I attempt to install a different CM nightly on this modded rom"? Do you think this option was just left in by mistake by the developer? My instinct tells me not to try it, but I'm not sure if this is an actual update option for the rom. I would ask this in the rom developement section but I am limited by posting rules. Thanks

I don't use Quantum anymore, but I think that's just left in there because it's essentially CM but with tweaks and optimizations. I could be wrong, but if you want Pwn's work, don't use CM's updater.

Thanks for your quick response. That's pretty much what I thought would be the answer, but I did see, in at least one instance, where he advised someone to flash to an earlier CM nightly to try to correct a problem. Thought that maybe that was kind of a standard procedure with CM based roms, & they could continue to be updated with nightlies without losing the tweaks. Thanks again for response!
