Connection to PC

Hey guys I have been asking everywhere but no one has replied me so I have no choice but to post a new thread. I have cm9 and when I connect my phone to the com, I can only access my external sd. Is there a way to access the internal storage as well?
Thanks

When you attach it you're going to see your external sd card. If you browse inside it you should see a folder called "external_sd" or something like it, inside it you should get access to your internal storage.
I may be wrong though. Try it and let me know if it works.

Try changing usb connection to mtp. Im able to see internal and external sd card when connecting to pc, but the prob is, i cant copy files from pc to phone and vice versa. When connecting to PC using mass storage im able to see external sd but no internal sd,but i can copy files from pc to phone and vice versa. So my advice, if you want to see your internal using usb nass storage, try removing your external sd and connect phone to pc again and see if youre able to see your internal. I think this is known bug in cm9 since external card is mounted as emmc and not as external_sd anymore.

If you need to transfer files urgently into your internal memory, my suggestion is that you transfer the file to your external memory, then you use your phone to transfer files internally from Ext.sd to Int.sd

If your phone is rooted, you can use Link2SD. You will first have to split your MICROSD into 2 partitions and format the 2nd partition as ext2.
There are *lots* of tutorials on this; use your favorite search engine to find one.
Alternatively, use a custom ROM that supports external/internal SD swap, and reinstall everything.

[Q] Retrieving files from "damaged" SD card after flashing CM10

I fllashed CM10 M2 on my S3 and got the error that the external SD card is damaged. After reading some threads here I found that CM doesn't handle the exFAT format so I restored stock image from backup expecting to be able to access files on the external card. However, I'm still getting the bad SD card error. I found this thread that mentions the same issue that I'm having but the solution proposed there didn't work for me. I'm using CWM 6.0.1.2 and when I connect through ADB when in recovery, I don't see the contents of the external card. Mounting sdcard from CWM mounts /sdcard but that is the internal storage which is not what I want. I also tried connecting the card to my laptop running XP using a micro-SD card reader and running chkdsk but that reported the disk as a RAW partition. Any ideas on what else I can do to copy files off of the card?
Plug it into the computer and run a recovery software. There's tons of free ones.
Exfat should be readable by cm10. I would try in a Linux os to retrieve your data. Or the recovery method as mentioned above.

You'll have to copy to the computer. Use an adaper to plug into a usb port. Or if you can see the files on your phone copy to computer via usb cable or wireless file utility.
If I'm not mistaken, exFat is only supported in our stock kernels which is why you can't read it in cm or aokp. I've also had problems seeing it in cwm and twrp recoveries, but I can't remember if I had a stock kernel at the time.

I was able to recover the files using the Photorec recovery tool from CGSecurity. Worked like a charm, restored all my pics and music And it's free as well!

How are you seeing the files from CWM? Do you connect through ADB to browse the files?

Try sgs3 easy ums app. I think its on the market but you can search for it here in xda as well.
Or as I said before you can try a wireless transfer utility from the market.
Otherwise take the sdcard out if the phone and plug it directly into your computer via an adapter.

Because you are in MTP Mode. You have to switch do mass Storage Mode or remove the SDCard from your phone and do the transfer on your PC.

[Q] [CM 10.1] USB problem

Usb problem. After flashing cm 10.1(Rox)
When i connect my phone to the pc in order to transfer files to the sd card. Whenever i transfer anything to the EXTERNAL SD card, the computer gives an error saying "The file has been externally altered or the file is invalid"
However when i transfer anything to the INTERNAL SD, it gives an error saying that the disk is full despite of having 900 MB free.
I have swapped the memory by flashing the modified vold.fstab. everything worked fine before on other roms.
