Firstly, I am fully stock in every way. I have been getting abysmal battery life from my phone.

Obviously I'm aware that the culprit is lookout.. i do like the services offered by lookout and would like to keep them. Disabling lookout does fix the problem but I'm wanting to hear potential causes and/or fixes..
Thanks for your time.
Which of the features does it offer you "like". Many times there are other alternatives for those "features" without the drain.
Im using lookout with no major battery drain. Looks like your wifi was on all the time. Low wifi signal may cause for wifi radio to broadcast with higher power. Smart stay will trigger camera every few seconds. Personally I use "Screebl" from play store - it keeps screen on by checking if phone is not laying flat. Install "better battery status" (need root for that) and it will allow you to see which app or service keep phone awake. Turn on power saving mode. In settings turn off wifi while sleep mode.

Try one power guard https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.onexuan.battery. and or Snapdragon battery guru. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xiam.snapdragon.app...... also I deleted lookout since i also had crazy batter drain I went from 100% to 88% in 45 minutes.

Thanks to those who replied. . However none of the answers have helped. .
Like I said, I am hoping to keep lookout as an unrooted stock user .. for now.
What isn't adding up is the fact that most users are reporting no issues with lookout draining battery..
So why am I having problems ??
As for weak wifi, that's not an issue.
Other ideas ??
I had the exact same issue. The only way for me to stop that was to uninstall it unfortunately

Don't use lookout.

Tried factory reset?
Be done with lookout

Lookout Isn't doing that for me maybe a update is needed?

I keep finding Play Music running on its own and eating battery quite often. Maybe that's the culprit? Was happening lately on my Note 2 as well.
I had this issue just after using Root de la Vega. My battery was going completely dead after about 4 hours with light use and the phone was getting really warm like the CPU was pegged the whole time. I did a factory reset and have all the same apps installed and my phone now makes it easily through a 10 hour workday and 45 minute commute with heavy use (5h screen time). Try that if you haven't.

I'm having crazy battery drain after upgrading to 3.9, about a percent a minute. Is there a program I can use to see what program is using all that juice?
The monitor function of SystemPanel is great for tracking down problems like this.
Also, if you're phone isn't sleeping, checking partial wake usage in Spare Parts will tell you what is keeping it awake.
Thanks for the quick response, I'll monitor usage for a day and see what comes up.
Have you checked your awake time vs. uptime in battery stats?
I think I found the problem, it was a corrupt copy of wireless tether that I had installed, the battery life seems okay now, still lower then what I was getting before hand. I'll post some screens here later. As for the uptime vs. awake time, I'm at 23:30:51 uptime vs 3:46:46 awake time, battery is currently at 43%

wow thats good, how do u get such good battery, i would normally only get 1:30:00 or something around there for awake time before mine would die, are u using set cpu?
I got...
32:48 up / 4:57 awake. At 37% battery.
I'm using the new OTA deodexed by Myn along with the new radio package (radio, wimax, pri, nv) by caulk. Nothing else! Set CPU is uninstalled. WiFi is on 100% along with background apps/auto sync. Mobile Networks only on when I am out of the house and without WiFi or 4G. I actually get good battery life on 4g if I keep the mobile networks off.
Here are some screens from my phone. This is after a normal days usage for me, do these seem normal for my kernal/ROM?
(This is without any type of OC/UC utility, I don't ever use those anyway)

How do u get better battery?

Like many here I've been having battery drain issues since the day I purchased the Galaxy Nexus. I also purchased the extended battery since day one. I've been reading through every single forum on how to reduce the battery drain and none seems to have worked for me. I've tried switching to wifi, 3g only, no email push, no google+, etc and my phone at 100% battery would lose almost 30% within 2 hours idling. Then I was looking at the settings and I came across the Developer Options/Background process limit and limited my background process from Standard to At most limit to 1 process and my battery has improved tremendously. Prior to making the change the Android OS was using 80+ % on idle (Wifi or 3g didn't make a difference), now it's uses around 20 or less. On idle I'm seeing around 4% or less an hour vs 15% battery drain.
Please remember this may or may not solve YOUR battery drain, but it has definitely helped mine and I just wanted to share with the community on what else you can try.
I've had pretty good results with my battery. I think some of ya'll are either just playing around with it too much or have some energy-sucking apps out there.

Or that you don't have a connection to the data network.
Just say'n. (I do the same thing at night)
I had Wi-fi enabled for 12 hours, and the battery only dropped to around 85%. I have been on 4G for 5 hours now, and the battery is now down to 13%. I'm going to use a Wi-fi/3G combination tomorrow. Oh and I also have my phone rooted/underclocked to 900Mhz.

I've been using it for 3 days and have had no issues. Anyways its as easy as checking the standard limit if you ever wanted to revert back.
So I read about other people having this problem with custom ROMs or rooted phones but I am on unrooted stock after OTA. I thought was one of the 60 or whatever apps I bought during the 10 cent promotion but I uninstalled them all and I still had the problem. It's not frequent but it's happened 3 times in the last couple of weeks. It's mildly annoying to have to pull the battery but the part that I can't live with is that whenever it this happens, my battery drains like crazy. The battery usage drops off a cliff and I caught this one after no more than 5 minutes. Any thoughts on this? I don't have an SD card so it's not that. Thanks!

to find the rogue app use betterbatterystats and cpu spy. not sure if they superuser. also badass battery works too.
Mine did this the other night on Calk's ROM. Something got stuck keeping the phone awake causing that cliff like drop off.
Happened to me on stock once, installed some game but didn't play it so I don't think that was the reason. It was either the default browser or the contact list.
Thanks for the replies. I figured it was an app but wanted to be sure before I started deleting things. I was just worried that this might be something to do with hardware or something.
I have same problem with different roms and i don't know what to do...

I had the same problem I figured out it was my wifi being turned on all the time. I have always heard leaving your wifi on when it's availible was supposed to save battery but I checked in better battery stats and saw there was almost 7000 wakelocks in a 5 hour period. I turned wifi off problem solved I only turn it on when I need to.
It is happend even wifi is off.

Your battery might be going bad... take it out and spin it on a flat surface if it spins freely the battery is most likely done.

I've been using CM10, and very few times has the battery life been that good. I'm not talking about when I'm not using it, I've reduced that a bit, I'm talking about when using the device. Overnight, it only drains like 10% (still more than I'd like but I'm taking measures to make it less), but when I'm actually using the device, it drains really rapidly. Like, I'll lose 10% in 20 minutes just using Facebook, Instagram, Pulse, etc. I've had it on airplane mode overnight one time and it didn't lose a percent, so I don't think I have a bad battery. So I'm thinking it might be the OS, but I don't know, how is everyone else's battery on TouchWiz, and have you used CM10 before and had bad battery?
Heres my stats for today

I've got 2 hr 30 min of screen time at auto brightness
10 min talk time
Around an hourish of listening to music
I keep autosync, bluetooth, and gps off. Nfc and s beam on, im using ktoons kernel and running ktoonservative governor at 1.5 ghz.
This is what I've been usually getting day to day, i cant say how much facebook uses as i dont keep track, and i dont use instagram.
Ive been on task's aokp 4.1.1 and my battery life was about the same, maybe a little better. Overall, ever since i turned off gps and autosync ive been satisfied with my battery (as i dont need either on a daily basis) Hope this helps

Hmmm well like I said, while I could eliminate more background data, I think I'm fine with the data side of things. I also freeze my Google Maps app so it doesn't keep on turning on, but I do keep my GPS on. It just seems like a huge drain when I'm using apps, like I mean some CM10 nightlies seem to drain slower than others, but if you say your battery was about the same between OS's, then I guess it's just me imagining it. I always thought the GSIII would last longer though, on paper it lasts longer than an iPhone, but it sure as hell doesn't do it in real life lol. It's what I switched from and one of the reasons why I picked the GSIII over the iPhone 5, but ugh messing around with the battery is such a pain.
Haha yeah its a pain, but when you get it the way you want it's amazing. Also keep in mind that your signal strength, LTE connections, and how much you use wifi over data will also play a factor

I have the black AT&T Note 4 32GB and I consistently have about 2 and 15 hours of screen on time. I have a apps that monitor apps and no app seems be taking abnormal amounts of usage. Also the apps say my battery health is good and this phone is only about 5 months old. Even with turning screen brightness to min and turning off any signal using services I can't get pass 2 Hours and 30 minutes. The phone's running Android 5.1 although the problem persisted with Android 4.4 too. Please help me as I want to make sure I know what the problem is before returning the phone or buying a new battery.
Try charging the phone, power off and on, then remove from charger after the phone boots into android. This helps a bit with my battery life. Try disabling advanced LTE options in mobile networks as well. This is a bit subjective, but does the phone get hot?

The method didn't make any noticeable difference. I never have advanced mode on as well. My phone only gets hot (not warm) when I'm charging my phone but during heavy game-play or intense YouTube resolution video it's barely even warm. Sorry if I'm not giving you enough info. Just came from an iPhone and to be honest. It's battery life is disappointing.
