I accidentally wiped all my internal storage on my phone and desperately need to retrieve some text I had backed up. When I reinstalled TB the folder was gone and it showed that I had zero back ups. I have the pro edition also is there anyway I can find my back ups out any other way to get my text?
If you wiped everything then how could anything be retrieved?

It's a long shot, and mainly for pics, but you could give this a shot.

I did the same thing about a year ago. Now the first thing I do is set up some scheduled backups in titanium. It backs up everything and then automatically loads it to my Dropbox every night at midnight. And I have my pics automatically backup there as well. Just a thought for next time. Sorry man.

If I had a dollar for every time I said that, I'd be making money in a very weird way.

If you have Titanium Backup Pro you can pull the Texts from a Nandroid Backup.

This sounds like a dumb question but I've never had this happen to me before. The other day I switched to Eugene's MIUI Patchrom. I was on it for about ten minutes when I realized I couldn't access my pictures. My gallery was showing a couple hundred when I have over 2000. I assumed it was the rom since it's not super stable. I restored my backup or Juggernaut and I just realized I can still not see my pictures. Surely they didn't get deleted, right? Please help because those pictures mean a lot to me. Thanks.

Yes. The folders that they were in are now empty.

I don't know of any ROMS that will wipe the sdcard. Did you check the DCIM directory with root explorer or via USB from your PC?
Yeah I did. Like I said, the folders are still there with the names I gave them, they're just empty.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
O well, have fun finding the pictures/ taking them again.
Besides the attributes getting changed by accident to hidden, I'd cough it up as a loss unless you can manage to do a file recovery program to scrape them off somehow

Probably got corrupted, do as advised and run a recovery search

O&O Software makes a really good file/folder/partition recovery program. I'd imagine it would work on sd, but im not 100% sure.. It never hurts to check
That's always my biggest worry when switching to a new ROM, because all my videos and pics are of my kids for the most part.
I personally don't know the best way to get them back, and the position you are in really sucks. What I tend to do is backup all my photos and pictures to my external SD card (32gb, so I have the space). Also make a backup on my computer and make another backup through a cloud storage program of your choice, I am currently using Drive.
I know that is a bit of overkill, but again, they are pics and vids of my kids growing up so I want to be 100% certain they don't get lost.
Hopefully you are able to find those pics, if not, perhaps my suggestion will help you in the future. Peace.
Thanks for the help, those who actually suggested something. I used some app from the gay store and it was able to recover some of my pictures, but not all. I suppose I'll just have to be more careful and make backups in the future.

I have accidentally factory reset my SIII and I need to recover all my photos. They are vacation photos from Disneyland. I didn't backup or put them in dropbox I know I am very stupid....I should have backup. I really need help here please...
All help appreciated! Thank you!
Do you have Google+ ? If so and you had instant uploads enabled they will be there backed up
maybe it all sync'd to picasa web album.

Unless you backed them up somewhere, they're gone. I tried to restore them too when I accidentally formatted my gfs Gnex and they use the same file system.

They may be recoverable using an undelete app. Do not take any more pictures or download anything until you run the undelete.

And by the way, now that you have 50gb drop box space, it might be a good idea to use their auto upload photos feature.

That app is very limited. It states that it will only work on Fat32 filesystem which is only the external memory card. Totally useless for trying to undelete anything on the internal mem card. It needs an update or a new dev who knows how to make it more useful.

Try DiskDigger
I used DiskDigger on my HTC Sensation and it worked great! It found tons of pictures from way back, taken back before several re-formats of my sdcard. Now, this was all recovered from my external sdcard, but the app description does say it will work on internal memory as well. I would definitely give it a try.
I forgot to add - You do have to be rooted to use this app.
How did it go?
You can recover photos after Samsung galaxy SIII android phone reformat with data recovery software, see this guide: android phone photo recovery
hope this helps.
Hi,
I have absolutely no idea why and how it happened, but my gnex made a factory reset, and all my apps (doesn't matter) and data (huge loss) is gone.
Is there any chance to recover the data?
Nope.
Your appswill be backed up up with your gmail account as far as the data unless you made a backup with something like titanium backup you are out of luck sorry to here about this. You should get titanium backup and make periodic back upsthis will save data and apps

Almost a year now, haha
I haven't rooted and/or put a custom rom such as cyanogen mod or anything, although I have been curious.
If I do go ahead and do it, how would I keep all my data and stuff, like pictures, contacts, messages, game data, etc.?
And how easy would it be to revert back to the stock T-Mobile ICS rom and stuff including the unroot, e.g. factory (how I got it)
This is the general statement and I might have more questions about this later

Stuff like pictures are stored on your SD card and wont get wiped by flashing a ROM. Stuff like programs and settings can be saved with Titanium Backup.
Don't I have to root to use titanium backup? In turn, doesn't that wipe everything?

No, rooting only gives you root access. All it does is give you permissions that you or apps will usually don't have. Like stated earlier deleting data or system will not delete your files and pics. To do that, you will have to format your SD or internal card. Quite different from rooting.

Back your pics up to a computer. Game data, messages, etc., can be restored via titanium backup or other similar apps. Your contacts should be backed up on your Google account. You can log into the account on a PC to confirm this.
I'm not sure on the unroot process or the level of difficulty since I've never done it.
Rooting does not wipe your data as previously mentioned.

I used it religiously for over a year but have since stopped. Its nice and might do you some good, but rooting and flashing a custom ROM will alleviate most battery problems.
I read that Tasker is a good app for managing your phone, battery, and a lot of neat things.
Is it worth the $6.49?
Also, do I need to unlock the bootloader?
You would lose all of your app data and that kind of stuff but don't worry about your pictures. Also, just backup your contacts to your SIM than restore it after you flash what you want. Also, it is super easy to unroot. Check in the dev section. You will find stuff about returning to stock.

Absolutely. I'd pay at least twice that for Tasker. Here's some ideas for what you can set up with Tasker.

You dont have to unlock bootloader because it is not locked.

I also called T-Mobile asking what voids a warranty and the lady told me that I can do anything I want to my phone and it doesn't void the warranty! As long as it isn't physical or liquid damage.
before i take the red pill and flash the wicked rom, what is the best method to save personal data phone #,contacts, calendar appointments, email passwords, alarms, etc.?
the wicked rom says not to backup system apps, does that include app data?
thanks
Titanium Backup. You can restore app settings, say alarm clock settings, Temple Run accomplishments, etc.
I just export my contacts to my sd card and import back on a new rom. You can also link your contacts to a Google account.
I run Wicked, never had any issues at all.

Search your internal storage, it shouldn't of been deleted. Go through a file manager and if you can find it, go to titanium >preferences >and restore location.

yeah, you have to change backup location in titanium settings. In the S3, it uses your internal memory as an internal sdcard. That is where it saves all your personal junk by default. When you wipe though, it is possible to wipe without wiping that data, a factory reset should be enough. If you change in settings though, you would need to configure it to use your external sd card.
