Accidential Factory Reset...Any chance to resuce data? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
I have absolutely no idea why and how it happened, but my gnex made a factory reset, and all my apps (doesn't matter) and data (huge loss) is gone.
Is there any chance to recover the data?

Nope.

Your appswill be backed up up with your gmail account as far as the data unless you made a backup with something like titanium backup you are out of luck sorry to here about this. You should get titanium backup and make periodic back upsthis will save data and apps

Thank you for the quick response, can i pick individual apps for it to back up or when you do a batch backup does it just do everything?

On the Backup/Restore tab in Titanium, you can backup the apps individually. Doing it by batch would be easier, plus nothing beats having a backup of all installed apps plus system apps.
What backup will restore game save data?
I just flashed a ROM and was disappointed to see my high scores no longer present.
I've restored a nandbackup and will try and rebackup my games to see if the data will be saved this time...
EDIT: Absolutely ridiculous, lost my high scores.

you can also use adb backup
Afaik contrary to the above post TiBu does NOT back up game data! Yes TIBu backs up application data, but I dont believe game data is included. Try the app SyncIt beta by Jug6ernaut.
It depends on the game.

PRO Does, at least it will back it up if you allow it to, the default is to back it up if it has up to 30MB of data, but you could set the threshold as high as you want... Altough I've never tried doing that.

great app for crack flashers!!

i thougth i would share this app as i will be including this in my roms as soon as i release a upadate mean while i will share this.. this app creats a zip for all your apps with passwords and everything keep in mind ics only compatible apps and visa versa i would create a ics only zip for them any way here you go enjoy

Seems like it could be quite useful. What about data? Will it retain data for apps, or just the app itself? And do you have the choice to retain data for certain apps or not?
Maybe you could create two zip files, one for just apps and another for apps+data...

Well, and yes this backups data, 12 of my 39 applications that required uninstalling and redownloading.
Depends on the the tool though. MyBackup Root still works beautifully for all data restoring needs.
This was such a better option though. I was excited. I wish there was an option for no data :/

So, if I am understanding correctly what this app does, it will create a zip file of JUST your apps, and when flashed, will restore the backed up apps to /data/app
I use TB to backup my data, and HATE to restore any data for apps until AFTER I have fully tested the ROM with my apps and no data restores, so this would be awesome!
And yah, I know TB does this, but if this is a simple one click thing, would make it super easy for me, and the price couldn't be better

[Q] best way to back up personel

before i take the red pill and flash the wicked rom, what is the best method to save personal data phone #,contacts, calendar appointments, email passwords, alarms, etc.?
the wicked rom says not to backup system apps, does that include app data?
thanks
Titanium Backup. You can restore app settings, say alarm clock settings, Temple Run accomplishments, etc.
I just export my contacts to my sd card and import back on a new rom. You can also link your contacts to a Google account.
I run Wicked, never had any issues at all.

Don't forget to make a backup through recovery just incase something goes wrong. You'll have something to fall back on.

well all would have been well, but apparently titanium did not know that i was using an s3 and must have saved back up to internal.
all i could find was my old backups from my old phone.

Search your internal storage, it shouldn't of been deleted. Go through a file manager and if you can find it, go to titanium >preferences >and restore location.

yeah, you have to change backup location in titanium settings. In the S3, it uses your internal memory as an internal sdcard. That is where it saves all your personal junk by default. When you wipe though, it is possible to wipe without wiping that data, a factory reset should be enough. If you change in settings though, you would need to configure it to use your external sd card.

[Q]Are these sprint apps safe to remove?

I finally unlocked my phone and was curious if some or all these sprint apps are OK to remove? I already removed sprint id and sprint zone with titanium and wasn't sure about these pictured.
Thanks.

I know Connections Optimizer is. Its called something like "WiFi offload if i remember right. The other 2 I don't think so.
Make a backup in TWRP first in case you remove the wrong apps

I assume if I was to remove the connection optimizer I pictured, then I also need to remove WiFi offload as well? I do have a backup made already. Did that right after backing up the efs 3 different ways (with twrp, freegee, and autoprime's flashable efs backup tool). Plus I do backups of apps in titanium before removing them. I learned that lesson the hard way with my evo.

Very smart to back up multiple ways.
I'm not a fan of Titanium, but if i remember it right, WiFi offload is what titanium will delete.
I think the safest way is to freeze apps first. If nothing bad happens then delete.
I just go to /system/app and start deleting apps. Its usually pretty obvious what is bloat and not. And if you delete the wrong app, you can restore from TWRP.

Didn't know I could restore apps via twrp. I thought I could only backup and restore the phone itself incase I need to flash back to stock. Is there an option to backup/restore certain apps or do you get options when restoring? I haven't played with twrp much yet.

It doesn't restore apps. Just the backups you make. 5 min from screwed up phone, to fixed.

So, what are my options for backup non rooted?

I want to start fresh after the kk update. I have a profile for me and my son. I looked into helium but it has iffy results judging by feedback I read. Are there any other options? I would like to avoid root for now but since I bought square trade warranty I suppose it's not a huge deal.
I back all my stuff using KIES. Backs up my apps, snotes, system settings, etc.

helium is working fine for me but you have to connect your device to a PC and runa script to be able to save or restore anything.
price for non rooted devices and probably the reason for low feadback.
I also use it to transfer apps from my phone to tablet.
Any one tried mybackup from the playstore?
Been thinking of testing it out, but never find the time....

I've had varying success with Helium. When I do a system reset and try to restore from Helium about 80% of the apps will restore with data and the rest just fails. There's no explanation of reasoning behind which ones fail. And, when restoring all of the apps the process stops when a restore fails. I have to then start restoring after the failed app.
If you are relying on getting that data back don't count on Helium.
So apart from all the great guy stuff do search on Google for full backup android using adb. No rooting needed.
I would give you the link but I am on my phone today...
