[Q] Mytouch 3G slide - myTouch 3G Slide Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I'm trying to fix my friend's T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide but no luck after hours of searching. The phone can enter to HBoot/Fast boot but the phone hangs on T Mobile log on screen. The phone has boot rooted before (not me) but I have no idea what method was used.

[Q] "Touch Panel: Fail"

I was texting a friend when I turned off my screen. I got a reply, and when I went to turn on my screen and log in using the dot-grid, I noticed it wasn't responding at all.
I rebooted into the SPL and it said "Touch Panel: Fail."
Anyone else have this issue? Any fix for it?
I'm running ChromaticSlide 1.4

[Q] What rom is the original?

Hey,
I have an HTC Wildfire, its touch screen has been playing up for a while, I've totally replaced the touch screen digitiser but it hasnt fixed it...
When I attempt a Hard Reset it says Touch Panel - Fail, so after some googling, I think I'm going to try and root it with the original rom.
Its on (3) Three UK, I found this list of roms...

You need to flash a custom recovery, and then flash a ROM. There are many instructions on how to do this .

What were you doing with the phone just prior to this occurring? You can try reinstalling your recovery either via PC36IMG through the bootloader, or you can try to push a new recovery to the phone via fastboot if you have ADB set up on your phone. I would start there. If that doesn't work you may have a bad partition on your phone, for which the only fix is to replace your phone.
