Hey
Today I wanted to flash Leedroid HD R5. Before that I had 2.5 Final (Froyo). Now I had unfortunately only a 512MB partition, which I have expanded to 1GB. Then I have formatted both partitions before getting them back into the phone, and flash ROM. Everything went fine until the phone got stuck at the green HTC logo. After ~30 I opted myself for a reboot, which did nothing, of course. When I want to wipe in recovery it always says "E: Can not mount / dev/block/mmcblk0p2 (File exists)". What can I do now? I cant flash another ROM, because it also stucks on the HTC logo. Then i read that an unroot is the only way to solve the problem, which I can also not do, because I can not establish a USB connection, if I cant restart the phone. What can I do about it? Hang the whole time to it, tried everything...
Thanks
greeting
Go back to stock ruu and then root again.
i am not able to go to the stock ruu because i cant establish a USB connection without a rom (in recovery i only can mount sd?!)
U need to search for USB brick fix in Google or xda it is around there mate I had same proplem u have to go in fastboot and write commands in on ya comp to fix it

Take your SD card out and put it in a reader. Run GParted and reformat your Ext3 partition. Probably a good idea to backup any info on the card to your PC first...
I recently had this happen to me when I ran an alignment.zip, thought I had killed my phone, but doing the above steps fixed it.
fastboot command

Sounds like the Bootloader is not in Download mode. Try these instructions, they worked for me: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1608152

Honestly I don't think there's hope, its showing the signs of emmc failure. Never know though, don't give up until you've tried everything twice! Still searching for a brick to work with but still no luck.

Pio, Ouch, you would be the one who would know.
OP, Sorry to hear.

Well I'm basing this solely on his reported errors, history has shown once those mount errors show up its pretty much done for until we can come up with something new. But, dead hardware is dead hardware.
I hope I'm wrong of course, and OP please continue trying some of the methods in other brick threads.

Hello, today was the day I got back to the Android world after a good 2 years in the shadow. Right off when I had opened my box I started to root and flash. Well, stupid me I didn't know what I was doing and now I'm here with a phone that doesn't get past the start-up logo anymore.
Is the phone bricked?
Here is what I can do:
Get into recovery-mode "OK-button and ON-button"
Get into "downloading..."-mode (I'm not sure of this one because it just says downloading... in yellow text)
Whenever I'm in recovery-mode and to do anything it only gives me error.. for example:
I downloaded the official firmware for my GIO named "S5660XXKTK_COVKS1_Sweden_Android..." gives "E:Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device)"
I then went to do wipe of data/factory reset and cache partition. This gives "Formatting data... E:format_volume:rfs format failed on /dev/stl13 Formatting cache... E:format_volume:rfs format failed on /dev/stl14 Data wipe complete.
When I go back and try to install official firmware it still says: "E:Short write of /tmp/sideload/package.zip (No space left on device)"
So I then try CM10-firmware (which is named: cm-10-20121204-unoffical-gio.zip (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804646) )but this gives "Finding update package... Opening update package... Installing update... "E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 0) Installation aborted.
IS MY PHONE BRICKED? OH AND BY THE WAY. MY PC (Windows 8) DOESN'T RECOGNIZE MY PHONE.........
Edit: I have Clockwork Mod

Which CWM u have? ext4 or ext4+rfs? U can try to fix it by going to recovery mode and format sdcard then try to wipe data and cache
Don't worry
Resolve this problem, install stock ROM through odin.
Note there are problems in the win 8 in terms of hardware identification (can not identify on entrances com devices) use an operating system win7 or XP to install rom on your phone.

Yes I installed Kies and when I did. I went into task manager and deleted all process with Kies before I opened Odin.
Still no luck
I will try to opererate on a Windows XP-pc now. Hopefully it will work out good
Edit: Did not work with XP either.....
Edit2: Now I used Gio Recovery on this site: clockworkmod.com/rommanage r and trying to replace it with stock recovery.
But I am stuck with this message: Replacing stock recovery with ClockworkMod recovery.
HELP!

Oh ok thanks. But I'm searching and I'm searching for an answer nowhere to be found.
If I go back to store now will they be able to tell if this is rooted or not? I mean even if I do a factory reset?
They might find out.. You should just flash stock firmware with odin. Search YT or Google if you don't know how. It's far more simple than taking it to service.

I have tried Odin with different windows versions and USB ports. No luck. So if I can't swap my phone for a new at the store I will try to make a USB jig contact.
Since my phone won't connect with my pc at all
Edit: well the only way my phone connects to Odin is through emergency dload mode. But when I am in that mode, set everything up in Odin and push start the timer will just go on and on and on. I gave up when it showed 210 minutes. And no, I do not have a crappy PC mine is 3 months and in the top end

Doesn't matter if I exit Kies or not. But I went to the store today and if they would had a Galaxy Gio on the store I would be able to swap but they didn't so it went into repair. So I'm getting my old but fixed Gio back in a week.
Hello,
I've installed CWM recovery on my phone(The version that automaticly goes in to recovery) and now i'm unable to open my phone on my pc.
I forgot to put a rom into my phone first and trying to put one on my phone atm.
I get the error that the MTP USB Device Driver can't be installed. I tried googeling it but can't find it.
Does anyone knows how i can enter my phone again?
Also i'm using an Xperia S.
Um.. Try coping the rom to u a external SD card ...By using an SD card adapter... Then flash the rom from u a external SD when u r in recovery..
Hit thanks if I helped

There is an option to mount external storage in CWM recovery. Why don't you give it a try? If that does not work, flash TWRP recovery and use it's mount thing. I hope that helps!
Hello everybody!
last week, i was going to wipe all data on my phone ( stock android 4.2.2 ). I had TWRP. I started to go to recovery. The because i was in hesitation to lose my data on sd card, i unmounted sdcard first, then i wipe all with that recovery. After finishing that , my phone was stucked on logo. Then i find a stock recovery in zip package, i installed it by Twrp. Now i have stock recovery which vibrates all the time and never mounts sd card.nothing works in recovery except power button. Also when i connect it in fastboot mode drivers are unknown,
Device id:
USB\VID_18D1&PID_D00D\6&36BB658B&0&1
From the moment i turn on the phone it begins to vibrate. Sd card can not be mount in recovery to force update.
