You can either look for an exposed module or build your own aosp rom

Where is the notification bar in most roms. I Love the notification bar in MI.UI I still like CM better though. I want to add the notification bar to CM. Does anyone know where the notification bar app is if its an app?
The notification bar is at the bottom on cm7 on the fire, just slide up in the middle to view your notifications.

I meant in the source code. Anyway I found it. For future reference it is in the SystemUI.apk file

How did you change that? I would like mine on top also, but cannot find where to do it. I am running CM9.

The current CM9 ROMs do not have that setting enabled in the menus yet.

and will never have, ics (and with that CM9) is not designed to put the bar on top on tablets...
How does one change it on CM7? I have seen it before but cannot seem to find it again. Thanks in advance.

Sort of... You can change the "status bar" to the top of the screen, which in turn moves the notifications slide to the top as well, but what I really want is to just pull the notifications slide from the top while leaving all the soft buttons on the bottom.
Is that even possible?

I see. I was really hoping it was just a setting. I seem to hit the notification bar instead of the space bar quite often in landscape.

Look back in tablet tweaks there is an option to 'enable deadzone' should disable the middle part of the statusbar might resolve your trying to hit the spacebar

First off just a correction ...
softkeys are "Software Keys" so the "On Screen" keys are soft keys .....
As far as disabling the Hardware keys, there used to be an app that let you disable buttons, but not sure if it works on the sgs2 ....
I'll look around for one, thanks

I was wondering the same thing earlier... if your using nova launcher hold down on the home screen and select shortcuts then activities then select Galaxy sII settings. Then just dissable key backlight.
Hope that helps
Edit - after re-reading what you wrote I realized you meant how to completely dissable them. I'm not really sure how you would do that. Well, good luck

Trying to figure out how to get search button and menu button on rom doesn't have it built in to settings like many do is this possible or something like it

If you're rooted there are nav bar variants you can flash, for instance, I'm running one with menu button dedicated at the bottom left
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29215393
At the bottom of the first post there are zips for different nav bar combos, i believe that's what i use and it also includes both the search and menu buttons you want. If you flash it, thank the dev

EDIT:
I'm having trouble just flashed it and it won't change the bottom "kill all" button like in the pictures you posted.
I'm using an AKOP based ROM, with the hideous gray button. Any idea how to help?

I think aokp uses different PNG name...if u look into ur ROM framework..look for imgs and names...unzip my zip rename imgs to match aokp ...zip it back up and should be all good. Sorry about that but ...when u delve into certain imgs not all roms use the same name...let me know how it goes.

Is it possible to flash something so the kill all button can be at the bottom left? Instead of top right like this:

You can do both with the GravityBox module, which is used along with the XPosed Framework.
And a note about the Quick Settings...you can touch and hold the switches to toggle vs touching and going into the Settings every time.

If you're happy with you're ROM, and it's AOSP of CAF, then try ElementalX kernel. It has a lot of options and will allow you a large choice of ROM's. Make sure to install the proper one.
