Media scanner shouldn't be disabled.. It will damage your OS.. Its an important process.. U must not disable such processes which are needed for almost all basic activities.. :silly:

I read plenty of comments about deep sleep and people only wasting 2 percent better life over extended periods. However my phone doesn't do this. When I check cpuspy, it does say that it's time is spent in deep sleep but it still waste a sizeable amount. How can I make sure that it enters that energy saving state? And could apps be waking the phone on its own?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
it depends on your setup. yes, apps wake the phone on their own. anything that works in the background can wake your phone, f you have lots of apps with notifications especially.
Would weather interfere with that? I'm running cna and have it on my lock screen. I take it refreshing automatically could do that? Also Google location services?

yes, even widgets that automatically update.
Apps that needs to automatically refresh usually has wake lock. Including built in weather widget

So deactivation of weather, Google, and taking off Facebook and Twitter refresh intervals should solve that?

Do you know any solutions to this annoying problem? Its impossible to watch full screen flash videos with stock browser. Screen turns off automatically. i tried turning on/off smart stay, no difference whatsoever. I even installed 3 different versions of flash player, cleaned the browser cache ,nothing. What the hell is this? I am so sick of this stupid bugs.
do you know a way to fix it? and no I don't wanna use other browsers.

Smart Stay works for me when watching on the actual device. Not sure why it doesn't work for you.

No, smart stay works when the room is lit but I like to watch videos in bed which makes it impossible because smart stay doesnt work in dark.

I just want to open browser and be able to watch damn videos. Why do I need to install screen timeout apps and click it everytime I need to wqtch something. How convenient is this?

Yeah , it's annoying.
But I guess Android Jellybean system files dont support adobe flash out of box so maybe tweaking system files for screen time to support flashplayer is needed.

Try Screeble, best App to keep screen on while in use, by using screen orientation / gyroscope/apps

Search for "Screen On" on Google Play. Free app, no ads. Tick the stock Internet browser and enable the service within the app (disable the annoying icon in the notifications bar within the settings). Voila, issue resolved.

I've noticed that the phone wakes up a lot during the day and it's starting to affect better life. is there a way to check what wakes up the phone?

and I've already disabled connection optimizer and I don't have any motion settings that would listen with the screen off

Are you running stock? Rom? Do you have any app notifications set to "wake" the phone. Also, try ES Task Manager and see what is running when the phone wakes up.

I am stock deodexed lk8 rooted. all notifications should wake the phone (waking is when the software starts processing, not necessarily when the screen turns on)

It shouldn't...unless you allow lots of stuff to run in the background. What is issuing partial wakelocks on your device? Things like Sprint Connections Optimizer, and network-based location will bleed you dry in useless partial wakelocks.
Even leaving data sync-age on, wifi on, GPS on shouldn't unless you're phone is constantly getting email/text notification pings.
whnevr i dnt clear my notifications in the notification bar n when the number of notifications increases more then 3 or 4 notifications, so then whnevr i pull my notification bar down it lags... also whn more processes are running whneva i open the app drawer and try scrolling apps it lags slightly... i m using 4.1.2
plz i need a solution except rooting ma device..
thanku
Settings->Developer options->Windows animation scale->Animations off
Also disable other animation options below that.
Now try if it still lags. I have it still enabled but there's no lag for me - but I'm on custom ROM.
tried doin it... bt still lags...

Install Nova Launcher from Playstore and try again - it should at least fix the app drawer lag.
Dont have any lag or other problem here..
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
it known issue , lets hope 4.2.2 update will fix it
edit : BTW i mean the notification drawer lag , i don't have any lag in the apps drawer even with many app running in the background
Turn Power Saving Mode off if you have it on.
Hi,
Use all of the suggestions here and try Crossbreeder.
It's similar to Seeder but with more added twists.
Hope this helps.
my power saving mode is always off...
also whnever i am listening songs from music player nad go to my home screen and pull my notification bar it lags very much showing the now playing notificatiom
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
What's with this notification lag for some? I have none at all on mine.
Try removing unwanted toggles and use toggle control from app store to add more. Does that work? I have no idea since I've never encountered lags except a micro-lag immediately after waking up from deep sleep/boot. Consider rooting IMO.
now last option..
waiting for the 4.2.2 update at may end.. thnks to samsung... hope it works.. if that doesnt works den i ll go for rooting

The stock ROM is substandard. CM doesn't have most of these problems. However there is still constant lag evewhere but better than the stock ROM.
I just messed around with a bunch of settings and talk back under accessibility is not on but if I open up the browser it will say page loaded

Nevermind I figured it out under accessibility I had greenify turned on thinking it would help the app kill background processes but it still makes talk back talk when apps are being closed or browsers are being opened or pages are being loaded so I turned it off

Greenify is an app which hibernates user apps so the cpu is able to get into deepsleep. What RussellEstrige25 meant, was that you have to make sure that no app is enabled under accessibility because that might cause the talkback issue. Greenify was just an example
