Not normal at all, the note 2 is WAY brighter than the original. I have been hearing that some units of the note are lacking the brightness they should have.
My advice? Go and change it for another one.

On the startup screen, it should tell you, as well as in the "About" screen,
Go to SETTINGS > ABOUT (all the at the bottom)

By looking on the box maybe
Name of your phone appears during the boot. Check it there. Otherwise go to settings > about phone >
build/model number.

Is there a way to change the splash screen from the stock to a customized splash screen.
The Galaxy s2 (I9100) way is no use for note 2 (N7100).
Please help.............
The only idea to do this is to have more customization in phone.

I am interested in changing bootlogo, too.

I followed this guide and I changed my bootlogo in my Galaxy Tab 2 to say Galaxy Tab 2 xda-developers in stead of Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.
So, there should be a way to do the same thing for Galaxy Note 2, and I would like to know.
Haven't seen any posts about it yet, loved changing those on my other phone

The Tab 2 guide seems universal since you dump the Tab's file and modify it yourself. All we need to do is find the right file to dump and modify.

Where in the linked tutorial are you stuck? As stated before, the instructions for the Galaxy Note 2 and Galaxy Tab 2 7" would be the same because you're dumping the file, switching out the boot logo, and flashing the modified file.
But i think splash screen is different from BootLogo

Me too. I had a Note 3 GT-N900 and already set my lock screen with travel wallpaper and my gf asked me to set her unrooted note 2 GT-N7100 to get that application. Anyone? I need the apk, I think.
