[Q] Flashing Stock ROMs - Bell/Telus - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I figured I'd ask here instead of my usual 'try it to see' approach and bricking the phone. I have an Ace IIx from a friend I THINK is from Telus and is currently running FW-C (see below). Can I upgrade to FW-A although it's a different company and will I still need to unlock it if so?
From SamMobile:
(FW-A) Canada (Bell Mobile) 2013 June 4.0.4 S7560MVLAMF2 -> QUESTIONABLE
(FW-B) Canada (Bell Mobile) 2012 October 4.0.4 S7560MVLALJ7
(FW-C) Canada (Telus) 2012 October 4.0.4 S7560MVLALJ7 -> CURRENT

Anyone?

Looking for my stock firmware

I am wondering if anyone would happen to have the stock firmware for the gt-s5660m on solo mobile. I have tried the Bell stock but it causes my phones service bars to jump around dramatically.

Cannot update unlocked galaxy s II

Hello,
I have unlocked my galaxy S II (which was locked to virgin mobile Canada). When I connected it to kies, it still shows that I have the latest firmware (2.3.3) which is not true :| I thought kies would allow unlocked phones to be updated.
Can someone tell me where I am going wrong :|
Model: GT-I9100M
Android: 2.3.3
Baseband version: I9100MUGKG2

Sorry for asking such dumb question but I am new to this forum (a.k.a noob )

Canadian GNex in the US - Upgrading

Hi, I wanted to clear up a couple of things before I go ahead with the upgrade from yakjuux to yakju.
I got my Gnex from a Canadian seller on ebay and I plan on using it in the US on T-mobile.
Current version is 4.1.1
Baseband: I9250UGLH1
Build: JRO03C
Mobile Network Type: UMTS:3
Right now, when I use Google Maps, it's unable to find my location.
Do I need to flash a newer radio also?

Bell Mobility KitKat modem?

I am using my Note 2 on the Bell Mobility Network and would like to see if today's official Kit Kat upgrade contains an upgraded LTE modem.
I'm confused as to which one of these ODIN flashable updates is specific to Bell Mobility.

Actually, I have no intention of returning to stock as I am completely happy with DN3 rom on my phone. I am just hoping to extract the Bell specific modem from the stock image. If someone else has already done this and can post it then I could save a step...
I see that some kind soul has already done this for Telus users...

The ROM for the Canadian I317Ms is the same, no matter the carrier, only the applied CSC changes. You can flash the DNF1 modem from that Telus thread, it's the same you'd get from the whole ROM.
Canadian CSC codes I'm aware of:
BMC - Bell Mobility
VMC - Virgin Mobile Canada
BWA - Bell Wireless Alliance (iirc: Télébec, NorthernTel, Aliant, MTS, SaskTel; I'm having a hard time confirming current members)
PCM - President's Choice
TLS - Telus
KDO - Koodo
RWC - Rogers
FMC - Fido
VTR - Vidéotron
MCT - Mobilicity
GLW - Wind (originally known as Globalive Wireless)

back flashing from 4.4.2 GT-N7105 LTE

hey everybody,
i hope somebody can help and advise me on my dilema,
i have recently bought a note 2 GT-N7105 LTE from a friend who upgraded to a note 3 and the problem i have is a simple one,the device is locked to EE/Tmobile in the UK and i would like to unlock the bootloader so i can use any sim
from what i have read so far here on the forum i need to flash the existing rom which is 4.4.2 back to 4.1.1 before running the bootloader unlock method i found here on XDA
the information i need is that i was warned that back flashing from 4.4.2 may hard brick the device and would like some confirmation is this is true or not
the device is not rooted and has no custom recovery is pure stock so some advise and maybe even links to solve mt problem would be very much appreciated...thank you
p.s. i found this firmware on sammobile and would also like to ask if this will work for the unlocking process

You might have trouble getting an Odin flash to succeed due to the 4.4.2 rom and it's bootloader. Try to flash the device's 4.1.1 modem to allow the menu options needed to unlock the device. Once the unlock is completed you can flash the correct modem back to the device.
what you can do is flash the 4.1.1 modem which should give you the options you need to unlock.
