Say if I wanted to theme my stock rooted touchwiz. If I found a theme for the s4 touchwiz, I obviously can't flash it! But if I used a root explorer can I drag and drop replacing the files and reboot? Or would it not work cause or dpi is set at 480p? I just miss themeing! I wish I could make the PCB circuit board theme work on our Note 3!

Sorry to say, no. Here is why sir.
1. S4 is still on android 4.2 based, while Note III is android 4.3 so things will be different.
2. The layout files will be different, which is a big piece.
Dpi wont come into play, becuase they both use xxHdpi images.. so the image part should for most part be fine to drag into Launcher3.apk. Not a guareentee all will be fine.. but should.
My suggestion..
1. If you have Root, have Nova or Apex loaded and make sure works.
2. With one of the above running, you can rename your launcher3.apk
3. I would only drag images from s4 launcher into Note III launcher.
4. Replace luancher apk on Note III change permission, reboot.
5. change back to TW Launcher..
With us just getting Root. You gotta give us a bit to get things going..

You take a huge chance of messing up phone and getting fc's using apk from other carriers N3 stuff. Especially Framework/SystemUI is almost always different by each carrier. They add stuff into those files..

You need to have:
Android SDK
A graphic program like Gimp, Paint.Net, Photoshop
Apktool Manager
Java 6 and/or 7
That would be a start. Then you need to learn how to decompile Android Apk's

This thread is not the right area to request themign to be done, Use the Theme and Apps area fro that please.
The SecLauncher4.apk is the correct apk to decompile to get to labels for the launcher. I am not sure where those are at, haven't themed the Seclauncher since two versions ago..
I might suggest Nova whch will allow you to do things as well.

-You need a xml editor for this. Something like Notepad++
-This mod is untested because I dont have the device at the moment.
-Make a backup of your current framework-res.apk and Systemui.apk files
-After 2 weeks I believe I found all of what I need for this MOD after going through the framework and Systemui of my Galaxy Nexus
-This did work on my Galaxy Note
-Please try at your own risk
How To
1. Decompile the framework-res
2. In the values folder you will find bools.xml
3. Open up the file and search for "config_showNavigationBar"
4. This should be false, change it to True
5. Open up the dimens.xml and search for "navigation_bar_height"
6. Change the value there to either one of these because im not sure how it would look (25, 30, 35)
7. Recompile your framework-res.apk
8. Extract or Decompile the systemui.apk
9. Navigate to the drawable-hdpi folder
10. Download these NavBar_Icons images and place them in that folder
11. Zip or Recompile the systemui.apk
(OPTIONAL)
After completing the above
Disable the light on the capacitive touch keys(Home-Back-Menu-Search)
1. Decompile the framework-res.apk
2. In the values folder you will find arrays.xml
3. Open that xml and search for "config_autobrightnessbacklightvalues"
4. Change all values to 0
5. Recompile the framework-res.apk
Thanks!

People have always wanted them. We were just pushed aside by those who think only their opinions matter. Its part of ics and actually a cool feature. You would need to tranfer the whole systemui and tw frameworks over to the new rom. If you wanted the theme from the one without then you need to decompile both replace all the images and theme elements then recompile before moving them to the new rom

Hey guys, I'm a relative from the AT&T LGOG community.
I made a small (amateurish) theme for the mms.apk for my phone and wanted to try and port it to the sprint variant.
I used the LGUSMms.apk from a deodexed ZV9 stock ROM (posted by b-reezy HERE).
I do not have the Sprint LGOG and therefor have not been able to test this.
Some great users have tested and reported it works. Thanks guys.
LINK to original AT&T thread.
I have spent the last 2 days re-theming the conversation skins for the stock LGUSMms.apk.
I was inspired by whiteguypl's theme HERE.
This has his dark holo theme included. (Has the same little issue where the text color of links that people send you is the same as the background color).
(If you have an issue with this whiteguypl, please let me know).
I have included screenshots for all the themes.
I know they are a little rough, I am still brand new to themeing.
This was some pretty tough work (mostly because I had to learn a lot and made a few mistakes in the process).
Usual Disclaimer:
I am not responsible for any harm done to your device from flashing this.
I have flashed it fine on my phone without issues but cannot promise the same for you.
This replaces the LGUSMms.apk from /system/app/, so I strongly recommend either a system backup in recovery or at least making a copy of your LGUSMms.apk before installation.
Install via recovery.

Are you on a deodexed rom?
If not, maybe try renaming /system/app/LGUSMms.odex to LGUSMms.odex.bak (I'm assuming this is the name of it).
Then reboot.
I had a user say that that worked for another mod on a stock odexed rom.

Right, if you are deodexed there shouldn't be a .odex file, so there shouldn't have been anything to rename (if you renamed the .apk then the system won't see the app anymore, you'll want to change it back).
Did you try changing the conversation skin at all? Maybe one just didn't work (my guess it would be the blue striped background, the image names were different).
Can you try copying the THIS file (just the .apk in the .zip, maybe the .zip didn't flash right) to /system/app and making sure permissions are set to -rw-r--r--.
You'll have to reboot every time you change an app in there.
Thanks, and sorry it didn't work like it should have at first, I appreciate the help.

Great!
By copying the .apk or something else?
If so, maybe the .zip was messed up.
I'm thinking maybe the script is not mounting the partition correctly due to differences between the AT&T and Sprint versions.

And I was hoping to do more, but don't know when (see above) and was also hoping to fix the text color issues. I have been looking around in the .xmls and think I may have found the link colors, but I have yet to find out where the colors are set for individual skins (ie. the green "nature" theme has blue text in it because the original paper skin had blue text in it, I haven't been able to find where that is set).
Just wanted to give you an update, changed ROM's and flashed V1.2 and it worked perfect.
Works great wish we had more color schemes or choices

Inverted TouchWiz Apks For T-Mobile Stock Deodexed NF4 and NF9

I won't have a problem with anyone using the stock versions, but if you would like to include them in your rom or use them as a base for a theme, please ask first.
There were hundreds of xmls edited to achieve this and not to mention digging for the smali files that also needed to be changed. I just ask for some courtesy.
Thanks and enjoy!

I didn't plan on making these, but while I was making them for Tweaked, I thought hey, why don't I make them for stock too? And here goes some darkness for those that don't like the light. lol
Had to update the 2 zips that include the contacts (contacts/phone and the all in 1 zip) . I kinda forgot to change the textfield bg in it so it was white text on a white bg. My bad.

No, don't flash on Tweaked. They'll remove all the mods dwith put into the apks. I already made tweaked version based on the alpha and sent them to dwith (including the S5 mms ). The reason why I didn't post them, is because since tweaked is still alpha and dwith is still making changes all the time and depending what alpha/beta version is out for testing, they might end up breaking things. I'm sure once dwith is done with the versions I sent him, he'll package them up nicely.

That's because your rom isn't deodexed. You'll have to go into your phone's system/priv-app folder and delete the odex file for secmms. If you flashed any of the other apks, you'll have to do the same. The SecContacts_OSup.apk and SecPhone.apk are also in the same folder as the mms and the MultiWindowTrayService.apk is in the system/app folder.
Or I could just flash a Deodexed Rom.
I am to assume that it wouldn't be wise to flash this on the new ne6 base.?

How many of you are interested in a theme for the T800 running ANK1... This would be a pure stock theme not tied to any custom rom. Theme would be custom images and shifted anything Android green to blue.
Hi I am on mobile. But i cant see the poll so.. Ill post here +1 for me. I tryed to theme myself... But couldnt change the framework.

What problems did u have. And what system, VTS, MultAPKtool and version of apktool were u using. Your reply will help what not to start with. Usually it's settings is the problem, not the framework-res.apk.

I used ticklemyandroid for windows 8.1 and a 32bit pc. I forget the apk tools and that such as they installed for when i installed ticklemyandroid. Like I didnt know where to start as Im still a newbie at this. I was trying find where the powermenu and volume panels are at so I can theme since discreet blue systemUI works fine on T800. I decompiled the framework-res. Apk and all that. Thanks!

Power menu icons have been in the past located in framework. And volume in systemui. Will let u know once I am rooted and start to dig in. First will come a themed sysui, then settings and then the framework and whatever I do. May not do much, it all depends if we will get lollipop on the T800.. Don't want to spend a much of time for a theme that could be outdated in a few months. Sorry, I am late to the device or would started one a long time ago. I HATE ANDROID GREEN!

Thanks! I couldnt figure out what folder they were in and which photos are which. Discreet blue themes systmeui works fine for T800 just not the framework in which we just need the framework themed
Bump, just to get more votes if interested or not. Not going to do all that work with just 3 votes.

Well after a while, we have a theme that's like almost done. But I can't find the XML for that top part of the status bar. I edited a few xmls in drawbles and also the values and no go. Can you help us out with just that part? There's a theme thread in themes and apps thread. I tried everything

Now that lollipop is out... I kinda would like one The vrtheme method doesn't work on lollipop (maybe something I did wrong) but I made a Base zip which works on lollipop. Advanced apk tool works fine decompiling. The only problem I have is editing the notification bars. I cant seem to the find xml to change the colors. A little bit has changed so yeah. Hopefully you can get on going for lollipop
