I know you all seem to use Antutu. But are there other benchmarks to use to see how good the phone is? I suspect the phone does badly in Graphics because the P6 is not optimised in benchmarks or games yet for it's video chip.

hey guys!
i'm kind of a noob, so forgive me if i write something stupid i've watched a few videos of other phones being benchmarked with quadrant, and at the part where the planet and it's moon shows, other mid-range/high-end phones have no problem playing it flawlessly, and with my defy i get around 10-11fps, and some textures don't even show! is that because of a poorly optimised gpu driver, or what? any ideas? do other phones with sgx530 gpu do that too, or just the defy?

It's all right, i get 9 fps at stock speed (800mhz) and up to 12 depending on the OC applied.
Maybe Defy is not so brilliant in that specific test but the overall performances are great compared to other phones with similar price.
Also consider that many devices have huge score on quadrant benchmark but they're actually not so fast.
Some of them also have stagefright enabled, as a result the quadrant benchmark fails to decode h.264 and gives huge scores...
So, don't trust quadrant too much, our gpu and drivers are ok!
thx! actually i couldn't be happier with this phone, it's by far the best in it's price range (even if we exclude it's 'life-proof'-ness and great overclocking/undervolting capability). this was just something that caught my attention. anyway, thanks again!
Hey guys,
I wonder if the so called gaming SoC will get any better in terms of gaming performance with further updates from HTC. At the moment the games run barely as good as on my SGS2. I know..the resolution of the HOX is twice as high but the games graphics ar getting better and I cant even play NOVA 3 with my 'gaming device'... There is a way to make it a bit less laggy with new Base and franco kernel but it's still far away from beeing smooth. What I want to ask you is: Is there still potential for tegra 3 to run those games smooth and it's just a matter of time till an update comes that improves the framerates or is it just hardware limited? Are there other Tegra 3 devices which can run these games without any issues? I'm hoping that the 3.* kernel will improve something but actually I have no clue.
well u have to look at this from the point of view of the game/software/hardware
the one game u mentioned is not HOX compatible,
it's been force run on the device.... so as far as this go..... you'll need to wait for the game to be T3 optimized
software optimizations are still underway from both xda devs and htc.... and as u see they are getting better by the day
and finally not much to say about the hardware but... its more than capable just give it time.

Hello
i was wondering why performance on P6 not like samsung S3 as S3 much better than P6 on games performance
and our device with higher hardware spec
please your advice
The CPU is not compatible with the most games. The CPU of the s3 is a Qualcomm Snapdragon and of the P6 a HiSilicon

its very bad point , is there any solution for this issue like differences firmwares or KK or custom roms or some tweaks ??
Any idea to improve games performance ??

Never tried this, but people said that its good and improved performance:

And what RabbidZ said was pretty much the issue. Most apps are not optimized for the HiSillicon architecture, but rather the Qualcomm architecture, making Qualcomm ARM CPUs perform better overall. In other words, the apps don't use the full potential for the HiSillicon CPU, but there is nothing that we can really do.

it's really disappointed me as i tried Huawei G610 with lower hardware performance and it was very fast on every game i tried
like assassin screed it was very smooth and fast even more faster than from Samsung galaxy S3 ,
i hope that huawei improve their CPU soon enough
, i really appreciate your help and i will try this solution ,i hope to get some improvement as much as i hope
yeah its true, not all games works perfectly in P6. thats really disappointing. i have an ascend mate that has only 1gb ram and its perfect for gaming

its very strange as ascend mate has the same cpu in the P6 , !!!
but maybe it isnt overheating so fast so the cpu/gpu doest underclock itsefl ....thats the main reason why p6 has such low performance ater few minutes of gaming...

i hope this problems get solved by KK or at least with stable custom roms,
i will try Init.d today and i will post my feedback about games performance
Update :
finally i installed it on B132 and it worked fine ,, really there is big difference and very good improvement ,,
Do you think is the B132 better in game performance?

Guys.We never get better performance.This SOC undersupported.Ad no...kitkat update won't help.Accept or buy another phone(Qualocom based)
I have a slightly defective Lg G3,
When running stock antutu is around 20k, quadrant is around 12K.
Now when i install AndroidNOW HD the kernel has a patch that fixes it, the phone scores around 25k Quadrant and 38-41K antutu.
I tried the 70-75-80% heat patch, but no dice, still no improvement, and i dont want to depend on a modded.
If i could identify the patch/correction that fixes this, issue and learn to apply it to AOSP and CM12. i´d be much happier since i dont have to depend on a specific rom from a developer that isnt extreamly liked here.
Scores are worthless. Bet you can't tell any difference when using it. ?
actually it does lag a little, also crashes once in a while.
no one as a clue as to this ?
Or are you just teasing me becuase im worried about scores ? its not only benchmarks, the phone shuts down, some games wont run, others run with artifacting...
It has to be a mistake, but Antutu shows an impressive score of 20.691 points, similar to newer platforms equiped with 4 cores CPUs and 2Gb of fast memory.
The actual configuration that gets this score is:
[ROM][AOSP][Unified] Unlegacy-Android MarshMallow build ua_tuna-ota-20170116.zip
F2FS Data partition. ext4 in System/Cache
Greenify properly configured to hibernate not used background apps.
The normal app load used in the terminal
As seen in the attached screenshot, 3D sucks with a score of 226 points (absolutelly normal), but the rest os the scores are amazing. Well, in fact, in my opinion the system is very smooth and apps runs quite well, but I think no in the way they should with a terminal in this real score in multitasking and memory performance. Is because of this I think this score is really artificially increased, or perhaps the potencial performance is degraded due the scarce 1 GB of RAM, in daily use.
I know that Antutu is not a real performance index but its relative scores places every device in an almost correct place of real performance.
What do you think?
