this is what i have found to be the best apn settings for my phone at this point BUT i cannot receive picture texts.
Name:Straight Talk
APN:tfdata

mms port:80
mcc:310
mnc:410
authentification type:none
apn type:default,supl,mms
bearer:unspecified
I tried every one of the settings posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2172110 not a one of them works the one listed for straight talk is not right they have changed it,but i appreciate the attempt to help but at this point i the settings I have listed above are the only ones that work but they still dont allow for picture messaging.
I read somewhere that i can create another apn that is for texting only that actually isnt a apn that is selectable but the phone will automatically use it for mms that will allow picture texting to work properly.Unfortunately i cant find the post again ive done so much searching i cant remember where the heck i found that.Anyways this is where I'm at now lol

I had a problem of not being able to send or receive MMS with pictures I finally found out how to fix it but ST won't tell you this. I found it on another forum. This should work for the Note 2 as well.

I had to remove the MMS port from 80 to Not set in order to receive pictures. That was really all I had to change.

MMS FIX! - May resolve issues for some

Hi everyone,
Ive been testing the new ROMs for a while now and have flashe everything except for nprussells release from today. On all of them (with or without MMS fix) I found that MMS wouldnt work. Retesting MMS on most of the ROMs I've found that deleting all original APNs (as we normally do anyway) then adding 2 APNs as below resolves all MMS issues. I can now receive and send MMS without any additional apps, mods, etc.
To add 2 APNs: add one for data, call it whatever you want and add information ONLY for data access (no mmsc, etc) leave these as they are by default. Also leave APN type and authenication.
Then for the second APN add only the data server + MMS info. Again leave authentication blank. Then under APN type type mms.
Do not add any more info for data access and make sure that only the data APN can and is selected. Also ensure that there are no other APNs.
UK Network settings: http://www.filesaveas.com/gprs.html
Hope this works!
ps I know that this has officially been resolved but I am sure Im still getting problems with not receiving some texts :s
I can't get MMS to work, could you expand a little more on your fix?
ie what exactly I would have to do ? (complete N00b here )

Hi,
Please provide more details on the problem - which ROM are you using and what have you done so far?
In detail you should download APN backup & restore from the market and use it to delete all APNs.
Then go to wireless settings, mobile network, access points.
Add two new APNs as described above - remember to save them both and set the data APN to active. Also make sure that mobile data is enabled. Then you may need to restart you phone although I didnt have to.
If you need specific settings then please let me know which network you are on and in which country so I can help you further
Could you help me aswell? i'm on vodafone UK currently using VillainROM 5.2
Thanks

pay as you go or pay monthly?
I'm using villain 5.2 and I'm on o2 monthly
I tried the adb shell fix, but it couldn't find the carriers database to update. I then tried manually entering them in the mobile settings and it still doesn't work

According to the O2 forums, you can only use one APN, so all settings have to be put into one (I have tried setting up 2 different ones and that didn't work either)

notification not working?
Hey there,
I appreciate the instructions and link! However, after I installed the alternative mms app, I am no longer receiving notifications for new incoming messages. In addition, mms appears to work intermittently.
I am on ICS 4.0.4 (CM9 ROM) if that helps. Any thoughts? Appreciate it!

it takes a while to send sometimes but it will go through. As far as recieving make sure your apn is correct

Request: AT&T APN

Recently, as of today, I have not been able to send any MMS messages.
Restored multiple nandroids, checked IME and everything else I can think of. However, I have not been able to find a listed stock AT&T APN on this site.
Currently, this is what I am using:
APN: PTA
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMS proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
Authentication type: None
APN type: default,mms,supl

Can someone with working MMS please paste their APN settings in here?

WORKING Straight Talk MMS Settings for Ion

So the Ion, for some reason has been tricky to get the MMS settings correct. I was at my wits end, and about to get rid of my beloved Ion due to the inability to send and receive MMS. Here's the settings I use, set them EXACTLY, any deviation, they will NOT work, trust me, I tried!
Delete any previous Straight Talk APN settings.

What was catching myself, and many others I've seen asking the same question, was the addition of the MMS APN. I as well as them, were setting it all as ONE single APN. TWO APN's ARE NEEDED!
Soon as I set them and checked the Straight Talk box, it started sending and receiving quickly! Pictures go both ways without any issues at all, and last night at work I ran speed tests and averaged roughly 5mbps.
This was exciting to me and hopefully it helped someone else out. Now you're free to enjoy $45/Mo unlimited everything on your sexy Ion!
Just tried this now. I was only able to send pictures when connected to wifi for some wierd reason. I just got the "queved for sending" message. Doesn't look like this has resolved it for me. let me try a power cycle. You have the default "straight talk" named apn the one with the green bubble next to it in your setting correct?
Thanks for the advice will let you no if get it working or not.
Yeah, when I made it the Straight Talk MMS setting didn't have a checkbox next to it. However after resetting phone and doing this again it does? Odd. I'll see if I can figure out
Try creating with wifi off? Set APN type as mms, not MMS. Worked for me. That's the only changes I made
Changing MMS to lowercase had it working for about ten minutes. Still having troubles.

I spent many sleepless nights looking for proper APN settings on Straight Talk's B.Y.O.P. plan (AT&T) for my unlocked Sony Xperia Ion (LT28at) device, here are the ones I came up with by messing around with multiple references, that work flawlessly; I get a near perfect 4G signal nearly everywhere and can send and receive MMS messages very fast:
You need you create 2 APNs and select the one named "straight talk"; The APN titled "mms" will be unselectable if done correctly.
Delete any other APNs if possible.
These settings are CAPs sensitive and sorry for the spaces in the URLs, don't have permission for posting hyperlinks yet, so leave out the spaces.
When I created this APN setup I did it with the Wifi off and then restarted the phone, and after reboot, worked great with Wifi.

Awesome, almost bought a Nexus 4 myself, hope you're loving it! So glad to hear it worked for you, haha, spent like 30 minutes typing that up, haha. I doubt I could have done it without the creator of this thread, so shout out goes to joe3681 for figuring out you had to make separate APNs.
Hey everyone add the word hipri in
apn type: default,supl,hipri
Now I get faster speeds on straigh talk. Went from 1mb to 5mb download with this simple change.
Info on new sim (sort of)
Just thought I would give an update for all of us still hanging on to the ION
I just got a new ST ATT type sim card. I just knew for certain that with the new sim card that the standard APN settings would work
I was disappointed to say the least, LOL
Still the only ones working for me are in my post on page one.

For T-Mobile Sim people, simply use the ones on the website, never had any problems with them, work great, even had 4G.

only settings that worked for me, thank you so much <3333
None of these working
None of the settings listed work for me. When I try to send a picture it says "queued for sending when service is available" and when someone sends me a picture I get "message not downloaded". 2 APN's do not work. I also do not get any 4G with these settings. At least with straight talk's settings I get 4G LTE but of course nothing works that way neither.
Any more settings I can try?
Not really sure I've had an ion for 2-3 yrs and in the beginning when I lived in Atlanta it worked. But now living in Indiana i can't get any (MMS) to work ? I have wonderful 4g though

[Q] build.prop unlock, need mms settings for att gophone

I unlocked my sprint g2 with the build.prop method and then flashed justin's rom. then I changed the apn to this one:
apn: phone
proxy: not set
port: not set
username: not set
password: not set
mmsc: mmsc.cingular.com (with http in front)
mms proxy: wireless.cingular.com
mms port:80 (ive tried 8080 too)
mcc:310
mnc:410
authentication type: none
apn type: default
apn protocol: IPv4
Everything works, but MMS. data works, normal text works but I cannot send or receive MMS. Can anyone share their MMS settings for att gophone? or do I have to change something else? Thank you
