[Q] How to copy Stock Nexus 7 Jellybean 4.3 Livewallpapers into Custom Pac Man Rom? - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Howdy.
I'm a XDA noobee so sorry if this is not the correct forum or this has been addressed already.
Have unlocked and rooted my Nexus 7 2013 and loaded a nice custom ROM (Pacman) but it only has one live wallpaper option and I want my old stock live wallpapers back not playstore ones. How would i copy the old live wallpapers out of my stock rom and apply to this new one? I tried coping live wallpaper picker.apk and livewallpaper.apk and install in system/app with Root Browser, rebooted but did not work. Tried to make sure permissions were correct. Am I missing something? Do I have to install as a App or do I have to modify the stock livepaperpicker apk or existing single live wallpaper? When tried to side install as a app was told that it failed installation .
Thanks for your assistance! I have a lot to learn!

[Q] Replace Default Launcher with Custom launcher

Hi guys
I want to flash a custom rom. But I dont like the default launcher (launcher2.apk) can I replace it with Launcher Pro and can launcher pro still be updateble through the market.
I deleteled the launcher2.apk from /system/app folder and added the launcher pro.apk but after I flashed the rom I saw that the market doesn't recognize the installed luncherpro. So is it possible that I put the launcher apk file in a non-root folder inside the flashable rom zip file?
Another question I downloaded the "maps5.8.0 ownhere testkeyresign.apk" to be able to have navigation support in my country. Now should I put this file inside /system/app before I flash the custom rom or should I install it later? Whats better?
Just download launcher pro from market install it and then delete the other launcher and u should be fine

To answer your launcher question, try installing launcherpro from the market, and THEN deleting Launcher2.apk, that way you will only have launcherpro, which would also be updatable. You can use android commander to do so (requires android-sdk)
And to answer your maps query, it doesn't really matter, if you put the .apk in the ROM before installing you won't be able to uninstall it in the future as it will be classes as a "system app".. that's the only difference.
Thanks for the answers. Looks like the best way is to install the new launcher and maps after I flashed the rom

put your maps in the /system/app if want to use forever if not should be in /data/app folder if your custom rom has this feature so you can uninstall this later- read about /data/app feature also if your custom rom has root feature or you have a rooted phone it doesn't matter - you can delete this apk with Root Explorer by example
regarding launcher apk Market doesn't recognize this because is signed differently than the apk from Market -let us say I download from Market an apk and decompile it... to compile back and make that apk I will use own signature to accomplish this task so is that Market will say yeah ! a new app there because this is signed by me not original developer or can be signed in Eclipse with debug signature- also this signature is not ok

cycloneblast's method works. Finally happy with custom roms where live wallpapers didnt worked.
Thanks Cycloneblast I was able to fix my LWP error. My alternate process below:
How to fix - unfortunately live wallpaper picker has stopped.
1. Backup and Uninstall the system
-Live Wallaper Picker-
{livewallpaperspicker.apk}
ONLY (NOT livewallpapers.apk) with -Lucky Patcher-(you need to enable system files in Lucky Patcher) or some other App like that (you don't need to uninstall any already installed live wallpapers).
2. Download many livewallpaperspicker.apk you can find all over the internet (including the one in this thread by <cycloneblast>) for different Android versions(doesn't matter even if the version is not specified, download anything you can).
3. Install the livewallpaperspicker.apk for the Android version you are running.
4. If it still says unfortunately live wallpaper picker... then Install other versions and test them(you don't need to restart your device).
5. If stil not working, then remove odex file of the Live Wallpaper Picker with Lucky Patcher and then repeat steps 3 and 4.
6. If STILL not working then remove corpses with -SD Maid-(you need to enable system files in it's settings first which is usually turned off when you install it). WARNING: Use this at your own RISK.
with that livewallpaperpicker donĀ“t woks for me. i put another one the 4.4 (for kitkat) and works really fine. with live wp again.

how to get mini cyanogenmod 9 with live wallpapers for htc buzz:wildfire

i know this is not a question but i have been using xda for downloading roms and such but i am new to the app on my wildfire it self but i have this method to use mini cm 9 with live wallpapers on your htc wildfire buzz...now i don't know if anyone has figured it out yet but it requires two rom down loads: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967851 <---mini cm 9 by jordfaz then http://download.cyanogenmod.com/?type=stable&device=buzz <----by the cyanogenmod team (download 7.2 stable) then simply open the cm 7.2 zip and move/copy the live wallpaper apk to the mini cm 9 zip (have both open in winzip or similar software for it to work) then after sync to your sdcard go to you recovery then flash it over and yeah thats it
Also copy the live wallpaper picker apk basically any apk that says live wallpaper and hey if you like the ones in the other ROM just copy those over as well

Did you set the permissions as 644? Try posting in the thread for your ROM.
