Preinstalled apps that FC

How come some .apk's can be added to a rom for when you flash it and some work and some FC?
I'd like to include some Live Wallpapers with my rom but they FC. However some other live wallpapers i added don't do this? They work just fine if you install though app manager.

Hi, I'm using cm9 beta 1
I noticed that I can't use lwp as I can't find any opt to choose pictures other than from gallery
Then I found out that i dont have livewallpaper picker.apk
So, I found many lwp picker apk but I'm not sure which one is compatible for my rom
Could you help me to give me the compatible one?

Download .apk
Move to /system/apps
Set permissions to rw-r--r--
Reboot
This might do the trick

Why not flash the latest version B4 is already out try it i am sure it is better

cycloneblast's method works. Finally happy with custom roms where live wallpapers didnt worked.

Thanks Cycloneblast I was able to fix my LWP error. My alternate process below:
How to fix - unfortunately live wallpaper picker has stopped.
1. Backup and Uninstall the system
-Live Wallaper Picker-
{livewallpaperspicker.apk}
ONLY (NOT livewallpapers.apk) with -Lucky Patcher-(you need to enable system files in Lucky Patcher) or some other App like that (you don't need to uninstall any already installed live wallpapers).
2. Download many livewallpaperspicker.apk you can find all over the internet (including the one in this thread by <cycloneblast>) for different Android versions(doesn't matter even if the version is not specified, download anything you can).
3. Install the livewallpaperspicker.apk for the Android version you are running.
4. If it still says unfortunately live wallpaper picker... then Install other versions and test them(you don't need to restart your device).
5. If stil not working, then remove odex file of the Live Wallpaper Picker with Lucky Patcher and then repeat steps 3 and 4.
6. If STILL not working then remove corpses with -SD Maid-(you need to enable system files in it's settings first which is usually turned off when you install it). WARNING: Use this at your own RISK.

with that livewallpaperpicker don´t woks for me. i put another one the 4.4 (for kitkat) and works really fine. with live wp again.

[Q] How to copy Stock Nexus 7 Jellybean 4.3 Livewallpapers into Custom Pac Man Rom?

Howdy.
I'm a XDA noobee so sorry if this is not the correct forum or this has been addressed already.
Have unlocked and rooted my Nexus 7 2013 and loaded a nice custom ROM (Pacman) but it only has one live wallpaper option and I want my old stock live wallpapers back not playstore ones. How would i copy the old live wallpapers out of my stock rom and apply to this new one? I tried coping live wallpaper picker.apk and livewallpaper.apk and install in system/app with Root Browser, rebooted but did not work. Tried to make sure permissions were correct. Am I missing something? Do I have to install as a App or do I have to modify the stock livepaperpicker apk or existing single live wallpaper? When tried to side install as a app was told that it failed installation .

[MOD] S2/S3/S4 Accuweather Widget+Main Themed [App/Theme]

Well friends, after a really hard work, I present to you the S2 Accuweather Widget and main app themed.
i'm porting the AccuweatherWidget + Main from galaxy s3 thread:

so It should work on any JB odex/deodex rom even on cm10+ with tuchwiz.
Also if you are on a stock odex rom it may work if you delete the .odex files
I have tested on deodexed LSW rom and it works like a charm
To Install it just flash the zip via CWM. This will replace your stock widget and main apk so make a backup of both apk just in case
something goes wrong.
If you have any problems then delete the widget and the main apk data and then reboot.​

There is a bug in the white theme when you press the weather map the icons is dark and it's hard to see the weather conditions.
and in both themes there is a bug in weather map, when you press on city the weather icons will not be sorted properly until you add them to the list.

Cyanogenmod 11 nightlies
Hi smoky-jr,
i love your work. Do these work on cynagenmod 11 (i am using the nightlies from 26/07/14)
I have downloaded S2S3-AccuweatherWidget-Main-FullColorful.zip & S2S3-AccuWeatherWidget-FullColorful-Mod05.zip, went into cwm (version 6.0.5.0) and installed without issue but upon reboot neither of them is showing up as widgets?
The only weather widget displayed in the widgets is the clock (cynagenmood stock one) but if i go to settings/apps/all, i have two weather items there:
weather widget (com.sec.android.widgetapp.ap.h....) version 121105.01
weather widget main (com.sec.android.widgetapp.ap.h....) version 121105.01
Are these correct?
On each of them i can 'uninstall updates' and then it asks do i want to replace them with the factory one which i have selected yes to but nothing changes.

In order for this to work, you should have TouchWiz launcher for cm10-11
You can get it from the following link:

Thank you so much for the reply and the link. I was hoping to stick with the default trebuchet launcher but i really do want your weather widget so i will switch to the Touchwiz one. I have tried most of the weather widgets on Google play and none of the look half as good as yours - its by far the best looking one i have seen! great work!

Maybe that version isn't compatible with CM11 (i am on the nightly version from 26/07/14). I also installed your mods but same as before, there are two weather items listed + weather daemon displayed in apps but all i can do with them is force stop/disable etc.
Sadly I guess i will have to do without these on CM11.

i'm sorry,
first you neet to uninstall the touchwiz launcher then reboot.
you can do this with root explorer or another file manager with root permissions
second try to flash the following touchwiz launcher:
S4_launcher-eHDPI
this zip file contains the launcher and accuweather widgets
afthe flashing the zip file and you checked that the launcher are working only then you can flash my custom accuweather widgets.
Hopefully it will work for you.

I installed the launcher you suggested and Touchwiz was there which i selected and restarted. It seemed to work fine. I installed your widgets and again they didn't show up in the widgets - even though i was using the touchwiz launcher.
I don't think it likes CM11 nightlies (kitkat).....I must admit though i really didn't like the touchwiz interface, i much prefer the default trebuchet launcher in CM11. Even though it has far fewer options, i do prefer the look of it.
I want to thank you for taking the time to help, its very much appreciated. I think i will have to stick with the Sense v2 weather widget i have been using for now.

I've rewritten the thread and added new colours and icon's. I've joined up the gallery pics "no gap's" and I've changed transition when the pic has been taken "Small mod but looks good IMO" and moved to gallery.

Sorry about that must of messed with the link when I changed the thread about. Link updated and checked it works thank you for you're word's. Was thinking of changing the icon on neon to match the others. What do you think?
Also you will need to push and set permission because the signature is different. Don't forget to back up.

Hmm. Maybe that's because you're on 4.4.3.. @andrewwright was the apk from 4.4.2? Because the camera works perfectly on my S2 running 4.4.2 SlimSaber. SlimSaber and Neatrom AOSP are both based on SlimKat. Else, I use dalvik.. I wonder if ART affects things. I doubt it..

Yes , that's what I thought : either 4.4.3 or ART

Not used art as most apk I use won't work with it. @Hopper8 yes this is 4.4.2 camera I've had this working on cm11 4.4.3 but again I didn't test with art. Tbh this should work with art on. Nothing big has been changed. Try wiping cache and dalvik cache reboot and test.
Edit...when I changed first post I deleted that it works on
AOKP cm and slimkat 4.4.2 and
Cm 4.4.3
I just looked at camera apk from cm 4.4.3 and its the same apk as 4.4.2? art should work OK.

Here are the results:
- Wipe cache and dalvik : still FC
- Switched back to Dalvik and it works !! :good:

This is weird then. @andrewwright I didn't test with art... I use xposed so art is a no-go for me. Maybe try it and logcat what's happening? Else if you need me to, I can test it tomorrow on art if you need? Pm me if needed

No need. I've tried on AOKP and fails. Strange because the apk worked on from the start works. I think this maybe a apktool problem. I'll change op and add its not compatible with art ATM. I'll find the problem and fix hopefully. Thanks for finding this @Tilagoon
