I can't believe you don't get any love over here... This is a fantastic rom!!
Are there problems with the 4g variant?.. For my 3g version this is THE FASTEST, SMOOTHEST rom available.. I know it says stock, which means no features, but this is not the only reason to have a certain rom..

It is much newer, faster, and makes julienne fries... If you are one of the first downloaders you will get WiFi thrown in FREE (actual coverage may vary and not eligible to members of XDA)...
Seriously, your link is to a 4.1.1 ... This is a 4.1.2 and another update from the jz054k.. This is jz054m a 4.1.2 r2.1.. It will have no new features, but under the hood is a much better running device..

I'll say this.
I was running CM10.1.2 and 4.2.2 for a long while. I decided to download the Xposed framework so I could change things and realized I needed a stock rom.
So I just downloaded this. And it runs, and I hate to say it, a LOT smoother than CM10. While I had ZERO... I repeat, ZERO issues with CM10.1.2... after switching to this AOSP rom... it made me realize just how much slicker it is running stock.
I don't get as much MODS... but thanks to the Xposed mod I can change a few things.
Either way. This ROM runs brilliantly on its own. Definitely a nice change from a custom rom.

I was actually thinking of giving that one a try soon. Do you know if the media hub works on it? I gave 2.99 a go but its still quite new so will wait a while before updating permanently and just 'check in' once in a while, so to speak, to see if its been made as stable as 2.54... Am very much lookin forward to being able to use 2.99 as my daily.

So I have flashed many roms on my nexus. The last being xylon. That and purity ak kernel did great for a long time. After awhile with every ROM though it began getting laggy and started having FCS . I decided that I was going to restore my backup. While I was debating what ROM to flash next I couldn't help but notice how stable and snappy my stock backup was. If you can do without customization the stock ROM really is nice. No disrespect to the developers.

I'm done with custom ROM as well. I've been running stock for over two months and I love how well the device performs overall. No less of data, no crashes, no headaches. I haven't been visiting this website like I used to because I do not need to troubleshoot my phone constantly. Flashing ROM can be an addiction.

I can second that. Flashing is very addictive, I update all major custom roms whenever new build is released but eventually I restore my stock backup. The only feature from custom roms I really miss is t9 dialer. I don't like third party dialers from market. I tried to fix it by myself, never successful though. I like the smoothness of our stock which is unfortunately little affected by deodexing in our beloved custom roms. That's the price of customization / theming.
Yeah, since JB the stock image was always smoother. Plus it's flash and forget, in the custom ROM's you're always wondering what's new.

I agree with having root for blocking adds. Adaway ftw!
I myself am getting sick of flashing roms...something always happens when ya either update the rom or custom kernel.. Love the snappy feel of stock everything is so smooth.
But i have to say stock + root + nova launcher with all animations off for faster the light speed = Beastly. Only reason i cant go back to stock is because my my volume down key doesnt work after breaking when replacing the usb port.
So i cant take screenshots and ive tried all different types of screenshot apps and they all suck. So im loving aokp's option of adding the screenshot button to my navbar it really beats the option having it in the power option because ya can take screenshots of ya toggles if need be etc.
Anyway yeah as soon as i get my hands on the n4 thats when ill be running stock + root + launcher i think.

If you purchased a GNex, and are an XDA member, I guess I can't see the reason why you'd keep the phone stock. Lag, the occasional FC, etc. will still occur even on stock; normal maintenance and a few tweaks minimize these regardless of custom or stock.
Admittedly, there's a good case to be made for slowing down the # of flashes during a day/week/month. Typically, there are two types of flashers: those who flash for aesthetics/customization, and those who flash for noticeable gains in performance, batt. life, features. Fortunately, there are developers on XDA who cater to both groups....some even pleasing both groups @ the same time. More often than not, however, there is a lull between Android releases, which produces more ROMS geared towards customization. This contributes to the "bored" factor, and ultimately, threads such as these.
With no disrespect to the OP, if you're content with stock, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, and stock+root on the GNex is more than capable of providing a good Android experience. But, holding this phone, and subscribing to these forums leads one to the assumption that you're @ the very least CURIOUS about opening up the possibilities of this phone's capabilities.
I didn't post this in the development section because I didn't make this rom and I am not affiliated with Jellybam. I just found this when searching around goo.im...
So it looks like we have a new, very cool rom for our device, which virtually no one seems to be using based on their download stats. It is a CM10.1 - Paranoid Android hybrid that has many cool features that I haven't seen on any other rom, certainly for this device. A good example would be the ability to add TW apps to this rom (see the pics).
Rather than me explaining all the features and writing this post like I own the rom (I don't!) you can check out the features here:
And you can download it here
How to Install
Like you would flash any other rom BUT it is different from other aosp roms since you don't have to install gapps - they're included

Game performance-wise, original stock still seems to be the fastest for me. I was never happy with the gaming performance of this device to begin with, and original stock is the only thing that I can settle on. As far as regular phone use, they're all fairly similar. I'd probably go with CM just because it's been out the longest and has likely the most kinks worked out of it. Although there was one that had a nifty notification drawer color themer that I liked alot, but I can't remember which it was.

So I been using cleanrom from the beginning of 4.4.2 update I find it really amazing piece of work and it is really hard for me to change it. I am a bit lazy to check out the new Roms to tell the truth that's the only ROM so far I have tried on that device been addicted as all of us to room flashing in g4 and get bored with that.
Do I would like to ask you to write ur
ROM version
Reason for using that specific ROM
Would u recommend it
If not lazy ur setup with kernel
Any issues u have with that rom and wish to change it.
Mine so far
CleanROM 2.6
Absolutely no issues have not tried so far other Roms bit that is amazing
Absolutely recommend for using as a daily ROM
Ex 2.6 no of no oc close to stock as possible performance if phenomenal
NP issue the only thing I wish to have is continue work of that ROM bit it is stopped so I wish to stay updated (I know its late but....) And try other Roms if better.

That is the beauty of Nexus devices - flashing a new ROM whenever the urge strikes you is a trivial matter, it is pretty hard to brick a Nexus barring hardware issues. Flash em all and see what you like best, or just gut the stock ROM and mod it to meet your needs and preferences.
And you can use multiRom to flash and boot multiple roms
