is it possible that is becouse i exit pushing home button in the middle of the video?
i read some post about this problem but just on recording, it seams the camera do not end the video correctly and corrupt it
but it sound really strange to me for video view
do you save your video on SD or internal storage?
Check if your sd card is a fake. Corruption of data is common on fake cards which have eg. 2 gb but get converted into 8gb or more, then as you fill it up you'll notice things disappearing and getting corrupt.

A friends DHD is just displaying a black screen when trying to watch recently recorded video from the phone. Anyone else had this before?
I had the same problem, after a bit googling it turned out to be caused by the memory card being not up to the task. To record HD video the card has to be class 6 or above but the card supplied by htc is only class 2 so it can't read/write fast enough.
So would ensuring the videos are local and not on the card help?
Normally it isn't related to the sdcard. Have you tried to play your video on a PC?

I bellieve too that isn't the sd card. I have a 16gb class 4 but i don't have problems with HD Videos, i shoot and watch everything just fine.
I bellieve that maybe it's a bug or even worst a hardware proble. I have a similar problem with media, i get random errors and denies to play videos or music transfered from my pc.
is it not working both landscape and portrait?
Afaik it happens regardless,im going to see her tomorrow and take a look at the phone, may take a backup and factory reset.
I just can't imagine what's causing it.
If you can get a memory card (ideally class 6 or above but you could try class 4) try it. I contacted HTC and they thought it was a software fault but I tried a new card (class 10) and I've had no problems in the 6 months since then. I was even getting problems playing high quality on YouTube it was getting so bad.

Well I checked the uptime of her phone since she said it was really slow and struggling it was a whopping 979 hours!!
switched off and tested her card in my phone. shocked to find mine was class 4 btw.
anyway her vids played back perfect on my GS2. recorded ok too.
videos recorded to my card on her DHD too.
next put her card back in the DHD and begun recording then played it back fine.
started to play back her older vids now perfectly.
Seemed to be down to the fact it was struggling being on non stop for so many hours and maybe taking out the card and popping back in helped.
backed up all her vids and pics onto a mem stick just in case. There I was thinking Id be factory resetting her phone and starting over!
Hey,
I've encountered problems with my G3.
1. Recording videos is fine, but the final video file is mostly always broken. Only the first 2 seconds are playable or the video stops and you can only hear sound. Tried to play around with the capture settings but I always get the same result.
2. When I go into my gallery, thumbnails load reeaaaally slow and loading the big image is even slower. Sometimes photos are shown as broken but they worked fine a few minutes ago.
I didn't apply any mods to the camera. All I got is root and lower DPI. (560)
Do you have any suggestion how to fix this? Can my SD Card be a possible reason for this?
regards
Probably your sd. Back up your data and reformat it using the phone.

99.99% the problem is your SD card.
Just try : take it out and record a video and see if it was recorded correctly.

Anyone else having issues recording video? I'm set to record at 4k (30FPS) and it sometimes takes about 2-3 seconds to start recording after I hit the button. Not only that, the live video on the screen freezes and skips around a bit then eventually catches up.
I read of a similar issue on the Note 8, something about disabling "EIS?"
I'm recording to my external SD card, maybe I need a faster SD Card?
Thanks!

What is the rating of your SD Card? Have you changed the storage option to Internal memory and tried recording to see if the issue still exists?

The SD Card is a Sandisk ultra, 100MB/s
So, I did some testing and it is happening when I have my screen resolution at WQHD+ resolutions, regardless of storing to SD Card or phone.
If I drop down to FHD+ resolution, there is no lag.

Okay. Factory reset your phone then try again. If it still lags/stutters get it replaced and test in-store before leaving.
Turn off EIS, and select HEVC.

Is a very well known issue and to set screen to fhd+ not helping a lot... Switch off eis solve the problem but videos are not well stabilised.
Hecv is not giving any help at all.
We need a fix because is a very expensive phone
Not sure if it is resolved but I have laggy video when recording.
Screen resolution is FHD+, Video recording resolution is 720p and recording to SD Card.

Tried a faster SDCard? Is it resolved when you record to internal storage?

The SDCard is a "SanDisk Ultra 80MB/s microSDXC 64GB" Class 10 so it should at least be able to do 10MB/s.
Haven't tried internal storage but how fast does the sdcard need to be?

Switch storage locations and see if it fixes it, then you'll know
Happened to my S9+ as well even recorded directly to internal storage. I was recording with 4K and 30fps and noticed that my videos are not smooth especially when panning left or right but slightly better when up and down. My previous S8 did not encountered this problem. My only solution so far is to turn off the stabilization and use gimbal.
After the August Update, recording videos at 4k60 uses the internal storage instead of my SD card. My SD card is a Samsung EVO plus U3, so it can't be speed problems. This was working fine before the update. Any way to resolve this?

Any solution found? Very annoying...this was the only reason that I bought a 256gb sd!!! It was working just fine....I don't understand!!!
+1 same here, worked fine for months, suddenly a deal breaking change like this, sucks big time. Why not implement a choice, I don't get this.
I finally discovered this painful truth last night. WTH samsung.
I found that out also at 1 this morning while recording water pouring through our basement window. I also found out that if you turn your phone sideways to record video in 4K 60 FPS that when you try to watch the video, it will be sideways when you turn the phone sideways to watch it unless me moving the video to my SD card caused it. . That is seriously messed up.
This has just occurred. Whenever I take a picture or video it doesn't store in my gallery, as before. Well not store, I can't playback videos, and pictures are unable to open. Comes up with a grey screen and an exclamation sign. Yet you can see videos and pictures are there! You can see pictures and videos in the thumbnail preview just can't open them. Any ideas what to do???

I remember having this issue with a "new" SD card (that was actually a fake one). Files were corrupted hence the system is not able to open them. Maybe you have a corrupted file causing the issue.
I ended returning the fake SD card and returned to my old one, I'm sorry if this is not too helpful.
Cheers,
Seems to be sorted. I just took out the SD card, then after re-inserting it I unmounted the SD card and then mounted it again. Seems to be OK. Keep all posted. Could be helpful to others.
