Whenever I receive new text messages I get a lockscreen widget with the notification in it. I use DashClock so I don't need it. To make matters worse, I cant re-arrange it so it's at least not the first widget I see. I hate that.
Anyone know how I can get rid of it?

Hi! I'm pretty new to the rooting world and this GW is my very first Android smartphone. I rooted my phone and currently using stock rom. I would like to know if there's any way to remove the huge clock on the lock screen without downloading any lockscreen app. Is it possible to customize it like hide it or change the font to an invisible one? The huge clock is blocking my lockscreen wallpaper and I hate it. All help shall be well appreciated. Thanks!

I think that is very unlikely to change w/o using third party app. U can try Go Locker. It can let u to disable the clock and date on the lock screen. Besides,
it provides quite a lot of customized theme too.
Use Go Locker is the best way for me
I think u cant do that thing
Thanks for all your suggestions. Is it possible to use the go locker while using the tw app? i like tw because i like the default look of gingerbread.
Im looking for a few features on my lockscreen that dont appear to be possible with stock att galaxy.
I would like to get more than 4 shortcut apps on the lockscreen.
I would also like an email widget and calendar widget, maybe something similar to the news widget for the jb lockscreen.
Possible?

Not without your own personal modding, or flashing something else that has it...
Widget Locker will let you place sliders, widgets, and shortcuts on your lockscreen. I've never tried it with a stock ROM, but see no reason it shouldn't work.
You can find it in the Play store.

Excellent 1st post... You get a thanks...
Yep, Widget Locker will do a lot of what you're looking for. One tip, go into your lock screen settings (in your phone settings, not in WL settings) and set it to none once you've activated WL. This will keep the odd times when your stock lock screen might appear after unlocking via WL.
I've been doing a lot of searching and it seems that the only way to hide the status bar in the lockscreen is to use widget locker. Widget locker causes more trouble than its worth when using a password/pin in my opinion. Nova Launcher allows hiding of the status bar but it doesn't apply to the lockscreen.
Is there a way that this can be achieved without using Widget Locker? Thanks in advance.
If its any help, im running CM10.1

You could probably edit the smali code. Or when i get the time i will try an idea i have that will require you to install an apk and thats it.
Thanks for the reply. I looked into editing the smali code and the process seems a bit too advanced for me. If you have time, it would be much appreciated. I know that a lot of people are looking for the same thing.
Me too... I wish in the stock launcher I can toggle the status and dock.
Bump

Havent gotten to it sorry! :/ lots of stuffs to do
A n00b's question here: will it be compatible with i9500 (Exynos)? Since I started using DashClock I too would love to hide the notification bar while on lockscreen.
Regards.
Hey guys, did a quick test with this and it is going to require a system mod. OR i can using root, disable the status bar. But you won't be able to drag it down at all or possibly receive notifications (haven't tested that) but if i mod SystemUI.apk i should be able to make it hide the status bar and still allow you to swipe down to show it again.

Thanks for checking into it. Keep us updated.
Hey guys, just searched google and found this thread.
Completely forgot i posted here way back when.
Got a new handset, keeping it fairly light.
Still wanna be able to hide the status bar on lock screen.
Forcing full screen on systemUI via xposed mod would effectively do it yeah?
What other screens would be affected?
curious as well

Nice idea, but didn't work... tried on keyguard as well.. nothin. Was pretty sure that was the lockscreen apk itself.. maybe not though.

I know of an xposed module that can do this, It's called
"lock Screen Widgets" works on Android Lollipop and Marshmallow. On the various tweaks that this module offers there's an option to hide the status bar in lockscreen. Like I've said, this module only hides the status bar, but it can still be pulled down.

So basically, I really wanted to install DashClock Widget. However it only works on android 4.2..... anyone know an app like that?
I like how it displays the sms count, task, weather. its super clean looking. Looking for some suggestions.
2 possible contenders
WidgetLocker and GO Locker
They'll get the job done, as long as you have the ability to remove the stock lockscreen. My Exchange account prevents me from disabling the stock lockscreen, so if I wanted to use these i would have a double lockscreen. Which would be the only thing worse than a single lockscreen.

I think he is looking for a Dashclock for 4.1.2, not a lockscreen.
I too would like to find something like this. One More Clock Widget has some of the features and having some very clean options.
Check out "cLock Weather Widget UCCW skin"

On my stock KK lockscreen, I removed the default clock widget (the basic text with the time and date) and now I can't get it back. It isn't appearing in the list of lockscreen widgets!
How do I re-add it to my lockscreen without doing a factory reset!?
BTW, by "remove" I mean that I dragged it over to the Remove slot and it was just removed from the lockscreen. I did NOT freeze the clock widget or delete it via Titanium Backup or something.

Just remove all widgets from the lockscreen and it will automagically reappear. LG's logic... They screwed some things with this KK update. The stock LG weather lockscreen widget of 4.1.2 to me is a huge loss.

Thank you. That worked, despite it being stupid to have to do that. :/
I also think it's stupid that they give use a favorite contacts widget, but it can't be used on the lockscreen.
I agree that they screwed some things up too. Overall, the update is great, but for me, getting rid of the aspect ratio correction option in settings is a huge screw up. I have apps that I rely on for work that don't display right without that option. It's pissing me off now that they don't display correctly!!!
