Auto-Brightness Slider Option - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Tried to search but didn't pull up any thing, is it not working as I think i read somewhere some one stated it didn't work?
When auto Brightness is enabled it allows you to move it from -5 to +5, is that the backlight? Never seen this before as I usually use Lux.

I just posted a thread about this last night. That is what the brightness slider is supposed to do, but on T-Mo, they removed that option. No one seems to know why, or if it was intentional or not.
For the record, here's the thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2478688

Wanam to remove this option? Sorry but I think I was asking what it does and tag the above that works just not on tmo, I can move it but nothing happens to Brightness

No I think that is from wanam. Cuz the only time I've seen it is with wanam... I could be mistaken.

Screen brightness shortcut missing on SGS3. Here is an alternative

One thing I definitely miss on SGS3 coming from SGS1 and SGS2 was the ability to change the brightness setting from from the top of the notification bar. You were able to slide your finger left to right and be able to change the screen brightness.
I found an app called Display brightness that can do something similar and thought I'd share as I am sure a few of you might also miss the old feature. You can set a screen brightness slider anywhere on the screen and change its transparency. It works a treat to be able to change brightness quickly and efficiently.
Here is the link on Google Play if you want to check it out
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=rubberbigpepper.DisplayBrightness
Gonna check it out, thanks
Holy crap that is awesome! Works on AT&T gs3. Thank you so much for pointing this out. Have to play with where I want it tho because it can interfere with the keyboard

Yeah its the best I've been able to find so far. Not sure why Sammy removed it from this phone but the app works. Finding a good spot to place it is key
Sent from my SGH-I747M using xda app-developers app
Feel kinda dumb right now, I see the indicator but how do I actually change the brightness?
Edit: I guess the bar was too thin. Once I made it thicker I was able to adjust it. Thanks guys
International version just got an OTA update that includes a brightness slider in the notification pull down. As well as adjustments to the minimum brightness for auto brightness
just tried this, and it is pretty awesome!
If you set all the transparencies to 0%, it works exactly like the stock s2 slider...except you can put this on any side you want. The key is figuring out where exactly to slide your fingers to get it to work consistently, but once you do its pretty awesome.
AAAA+++ Sweet!
very nice find. Works perfect.

Glad a few of you are finding it useful ! I still wish Samsung didn't remove it and not sure why they did. Every now and then I hit the brightness line by accident so I might try and put it in a different area of the screen to see which is the best place. That's the only tricky part. It is a nice app though as an alternative.

Hopefully we get it in us versions of the international just got an update with the feature back on the notification, maybe they forgot about it
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
Oh nice I didn't know that. I had the international for a week until I sold to try the LTE and just know it wasn't there on either. Also on my sgs2 one of the newer firmwares removed it as well a figured it was intentional and too much trouble to add it. I hope you're right

Can anyone confirm if the OTA updates on some of the American carriers added the brightness slider in notification bar like the update did on i9300? Or did the update only remove universal search ?

there is actually already code in the tw_status_bar_extended.xml for this. it just isn't active. i noticed it when i was poking around there for my theme.
Just download notification toggles app free from the market it has a ton of options. Will solve the brightness toggle issue plus you can add short cuts to apps, reboot menu and a bunch more.

Awesome app! I almost hope that the brightness slider doesn't get added to the notifications window...there's already a lot up there.
It seems some on i9300 forums are not liking the brightness slider added in a release and some are requesting devs to remove from roms. I'll keep this app for now as I think its great

I dont believe its actually on the pulldown.. in previous tw versions you just slide across the status bar to the right to go up and down.. i may be wrong about the new brightness alider though.

This is really great. It's really convenient to set all the transparency settings to "0%" and hiding the slider at the bottom of the homescreen - just slide above the home button to adjust the brightness!
Edit: It works on the lockscreen too - wow!

[Q] Decrease the lowest brightness of Note 2?

Hi, I'm a newbie here, I just wondering is there a way to decrease the lowest brightness limit?
It's quite uncomfortable to use the phone in a completely dark room, even though I've set the lowest brightness.
Thank You
Play store, screen filter or Filter your screen.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Though keep in mind that screen filters degrade the quality of colors and makes you unable to install apps while they're active.

Or is there any MOD? So I do not need to use screen filters...

Thank You
I use "screen filter" every night and ever morning.I have been for over two years now. Under that time I must have updated an app a few times!
There is an app called Night Mode on play store. Its pretty good and its free. Do give it a try..

Just bought Lux from store few days ago and have no experience like this. Only if use night mode the colors look funny to me, but the backlight control is awesome.

yeah you're right, the brightness does not change even though there is extra room for decreasing the brightness on the slider.
Try Elixir 2
I use Elixir to make a filter toggle, I have this toggle within a widget in my homescreen and other one in the statusbar widget (both with the same filter configuration) and it works perfect for me because Elixir allows to add many toggles in the same widget.

Darker screen?

Is there anyway to make the screen even darker? Even on the lowest setting the S3s screen is super bright. I was wondering if there is a mod or something that makes the lowest setting even dimmer. Like in the browser when your on power saving mode, the screen gets significantly darker.

How to get floating multi window

Disclaimer: I am not responsible if anything happens to your phone by following these steps nothing should happen but if something occurs dont come crying to me
First what you do it get exposed framework and install it (look up how to get it)apps shown in first picture.
Second thing is find android ui shown in second picture.
Third thing to do is change the resolution shown in the third picture you can change it to 600×1024 or 800×1280 doesnt matter which and dpi doesnt matter but you can change it to your liking
Fourth thing is hit the save button on top right and reboot and if done right the multi window should have a pin shown in fourth picture.
Fith thing is enjoy and if you followed these steps correct you have floating windows like in the fifth picture

One thing is I found out that recents wont come up by holding the home button may differ on yours but the way I got around it is using gmd guesture control and made my recents come up with 2 finger swipe up from bottom I like it better but that is the onpy bug I have found so far

That's not exactly what I meant. I knew it could do that, but I mean like actually minimizing the floating app, like how you do on a regular desktop OS. I remember I saw it somewhere on the International Note II forum, but I didn't know if it was possible on the AT&T version.
Your probly thinking of pop up browser... you can minimize it
After I make the change and reboot my lock screen is enlarged. Any suggestions?
