Hi!
I just recieved my new headphones and the buttons were supposed to work as I read on these forums but they don't, none of the three buttons does. I'm using the latest ARHD rom 31.3, but I suspect the problem could be in the fact that I don't use Sense and have thus removed it with Rom Cleaner No-sense script. Could this be the problem? For music I use Mixzing player, but I also tried stock music player and the result is the same.
Thanks for your suggestions!

Weird, they are working just fine here. All three buttons, even with long press and double press options.
Running an AOSP rom, using stock player and spotify.

hm, that's really weird, because obviously you also don't have sense, so that shouldn't be the problem. i'll try to reinstall the arhd rom without removing sense and keeping the stock kernel, because i'm using a custom one at the moment. maybe it's a hardware error, so i'll have to send them back if that's the case.

Ever since using custom ROMs i've been having issues with the volume buttons, they don't seem to continue increase/decrease the volume while I hold them down like they used to on the official ROM's from the HTC website.
I have to release and repress the button for it to further increase/decrease. I'm worried that that buttons will get damaged in this type of operation. The VolDown is already sounding spongy and stressed. I have tried various cabs(SetVolume 0.8, VolumeKeys-0.4.1 and Volume_Control 2.2) to no avail.
I really love these customs from all the kitchens, its a shame that the issue is causing me problems as I use my TP2 as a full time MP3 player.
I'm on the Energy ROM 20 JAN 21889 right now.
Try Valkyrie's volume fix. It seems to work well for me. However, the taskbar icon will look different (a glossy, black box).
That didnt work for me. Looking for the same as the OP

Didn't work, hmm reinstalled the WM 6.5 ROM from the HTC website and the volume controls work normally but reinstalled an Energy ROM and its back to single increments. Very odd.

Sorry guys; I just tried these myself on the ROM I have in my sig (I just loaded the ROM yesterday), and I also have the same "problem" (though it doesn't bother me that much). I was able to hold the volume buttons (with the increments moving during a hold of either button) using an old Dec.4 EnergyROM I had.
Again, sorry I couldn't solve this.
That "valkyrie htcvol.cab" posted worked for me in a jan energy rom but i had to install it, then remove it. Now on the energy feb 1st rom, the volume is normal. Now i am on the feb 4th and volume is back to multi touch. Tried to use this valkyrie htcvol.cab on it and it didnt work either way. Back to being stuck on the multi touch volume

I had this issue as well and figured out that it was caused by Rhodium Keyboard Controler (I think that's the name), you know, the app that allows you to remap the hardware buttons.
Dunno if that's your case as well, but do try to figure out if it's caused by an app causing a conflict of some sort.

try this
I'm rocking Salvage Mod .9.5 GB, love Gingerbread, but miss the HTC Music player. I tried a couple update .zips floating around, but the resolution is all wrong. Anybody got an idea?
Have you tried the Honeycomb music player? Sure, it's just a fancy UI right now, but it might work for you.
EDIT: Here's a link to the file..

Double Edit/Question.. How are you liking Salvage? I think I tried installing it, but didn't like the overall feel of it.. I'm rocking Myn'sWarmTwoPointTwoRLS4 right now, with Sense removed, and SBC's 4.2.2 Kernel..

Yeah I have it. Not bad. Def better than AOSP Music Players before it. But I like the lockscreen integration and swipe to select next track ability with the HTC Player.
The stock music player works fine for me. The thing is, and maybe it has some sort of option and I just don't know about it, but when I go out for my walks, I hate having to reach down and taking the phone out of the case from my waist to skip to the next song or replay the last song.
So I was wondering if there were any options that would allow me to maybe use the volume up down buttons or the buttons on the built in mic/volume control on the Samsung headset that came with the phone to do this?
Thank you,
Whiteice
First off, are you rooted?
If yes, then you can try FreeGS3 ROM[/UR], it's close to stock with many tweaks including the vol up/down mod to change songs. Was looking for a flashable zip in the dev section but couldn't find one.

Yes, I am rooted.
Thank you for the suggestion. I will look into it. If you happen to come across a flashable zip for the stock rom on root, please do let me know.
With all the flashing of different roms on my Nexus 7 recently, I am burnt out right now flashing roms. I just got this phone and getting used to it, so im not looking into roms, not just yet, but eventually sure. Plus, being on Sprint, word is the JB update is coming out soon so I don't want to flash a rom then JB comes out.
Regardless, thank you,
Whiteice
Poweramp has good reviews, not free however.. they do have a trial version though.
I've been using Player Pro for a couple years now, nice interface and cool widgets and lock screen options. They have a week trial you can use, that's how they got me
Sent from my Galaxy S III baby!
I've got Desire Z with the original earphones with the remote on the cable.
The buttons on the earphones' cable (play, forward, backward) don't work.
I can hear the music through the earphones however, so it seems that the cable is ok.
Is it something that can be fixed in the system?
I've got CM ILWT 564
thanks

You should ask roms'developer. It works fine for me now (gen.y), but didnt worked on another rom.
Thanks.
What's gen.y? What kind of rom is that?
I'd like to try it if it work for me.
It's ICS 4.0.3 with Sense 4 (soft version).
I think it's the smoothest ROM with ICS and Sense.

Flashed it. Love it. Really liked the Kit Kat version and this is running great -- everything works.
Tethering not working
Hey, tethering doesn't seem to work for me on 3 UK (including on any other lp ROMs) although it's fine on kk. Is there a fix? Will stick to your kk ROM for now; love it

There's RIL issues that mostly effect vs985 from what I've seen, other variants don't look to be getting hit by it or at least not as much
Since I'm a Verizon user I don't use any APN settings, so try setting APN to IPV6 which I read works
For me if there's an issue with RIL on vs985 which is every boot the signal icon is completely empty than we have to execute "su" than "killall rild" in terminal emulator but I don't believe d851 needs this done and that what you have is APN issues

Thanks changing APN setting to IPV6 did the job.
So far I have had no problems. I had to change the apn as well. Coming from notes I am use to that.
Got a modem blue screen. Error in fws_task.c line 354. This is a known issue, right?
thank you for your hard work! look forward to testing this and helping work the bugs out.
Is there no way to set custom actions for buttons on the navigation bar on this rom yet or am I just missing it? Double tapping the home button to sleep is useful for me because my power button is broken and double tapping the status bar is a hassle. Love the rom though thank you for your work!
I flashed this ROM after becoming jealous of my younger brother's Android Lolli and Nexus 6. So far it smooth and I was able to pear ally Bluetooth devices, however I am missing the lock screen widget that would appear when using apps like Pandora or Play Music allowing control over tracks while displaying album art. Does this have to do with the current inability to add custom widgets to the lock screen?

For 3rd party apps maybe, I don't use Pandora but on Apollo music player that is built with the ROM shows the album art pause/skip buttons

First of all...incredible job you've done with Liquid. Definitely my favorite ROM out there.
Anybody having problems with the BT volume? When I'm streaming Play Music from the phone to my stereo system via BT, I get a nasty volume spike when I hit about 70% volume on the BT volume slider. It also pops and distorts. It's like it jumps to 100% volume. Then when I lower it a couple notches it jumps back down. It plays just fine and has good range, but I just can't go above 70% or so. This also happens to me with every single Lollipop ROM out there. At first I thought it was just LS, but it is indeed every one. It doesn't happen with a stock based ROM or KK AOSP ROMs. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Its a bug when other things like notification sounds get played while music is playing
Only way to get it back to an equal level right now is to change the volume level momentarily, will get this fixed
All lollipop Roms are coming out of beta so basically we have a bug here and there on each one

Ok, thanks bunchies. At least I know it's not my phone or stereo. Too bad it's on every L ROM though. Oh well, I can live with it. Not going back to KK after experiencing LS Lollipop lol.
