This seems to be the only issue. Do I need to change some settings somewhere after flashing or should I just try to reflash the whole thing.

T-mobile lte is selected and the settings are filled out. What could have caused the lte to stop working? It doesn't seem to matter what I do.
When I flashed it, network mode was set to 4G. Changed it back to LTE and got back my LTE.

Ok I am back on the stock rom and I am still stuck on the edge network and my apn settings are greyed out but look ok. The network mode is on lte/wcdma/gsm and the status bar says 4g but I have no signal bars and extremely slow spped unless I am on wifi. I can get calls and texts though. Anything else important to solve this?
Sorry for double post but my imei number is 15 digits long if that matters.
LTE GONE
Bump... Having the same problem! Tried everything with respect to network mode, APNs, *#2263# and flashing different roms.
Although it worked at first, LTE disappeared on me out of the blue. Any ideas?

Hey All,
So, for some reason, I am unable to get LTE when i am flashed on the AOKP jellybean rom for the SGH-1747M (rogers)
I did everything that was stated in Task's Gerrit (Changed the connection for WCDMA to LTE/GSM auto), all that does is work for a while on H+, then disconnects.
I've changed my apn settings to the Rogers LTE settings, which just cuts off communication all together
Ive flashed Rogers Modems, still to no avail.
The thing that bothers me is that other sgh-1747M users claim to have been getting LTE on the AOKP jellybean rom.
My question is WHY AM I HAVING TROUBLE!!!??? I know the Rom was made for an At&T sgh1747, so people may say thats why its not working, but people with Canadian SG3's have been able to get LTE on the same ROM im having trouble getting it on.
If theres anything at all im missing, can someone please clarify exactly what im missing and what I should do to get it working.
I love the AOKP jellybean ROM, i keep going back to it, but the LTE not working just hurts my feelings (since I am paying for an LTE smartphone plan). PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!!
PS: the first time I ever changed from WCDMA to LTE/GSM autom i got a 4G symbol for about 30 secs.....never seen it again! HELP!
i dont have a gerrit. so im unsure what you are talking about.
you need to add a canadian LTE apn and then do this...
Enter *#*#4636#*#* into the dialer
phone information
set preferred network type
change to LTE/GSM auto

I'm not really sure. Being as I don't have a Canadian model its not something I can test. But I'm sure some Canadian users will be posting here to help you out soon.
when i try to change the preferred network it will not let me change it to anything else but to lte/gsm (prl) (i have the AT&T version)

Thats interesting. Maybe its because you are actually using at&t network. It works when I put it on LTE/GSM, but all I get is 3G and H+
Check your IMEI in about phone/status. If its showing 0, there's a thread for that.
If you're getting 4G icon and your mobile network status says LTE and are getting LTE speeds, then its cosmetic issue. I had that problem before.
What I did was I flashed Kyan's ROM 1.3 cause its based off of Rogers firmware. Once I verified I had LTE icon on Kyan ROM, then flashed the stock/rooted ROM after.

Interesting. I will try that method and see what happens. Thanks for the info; will post back with results soon
Ok, so after going through the whole process stated above, i WAS able to get a 4G symbol come every now and then. But before the connection actually finalizes and goes through (before it turns blue on the aokp rom), it disconnects and goes back to WCDMA preferred. I added the rogers LTE apn, and using that apn with the LTE/GSM auto selected allowed the 4G to come, but it keeps disconnecting. It even sometimes changes back to other apns on the list by itself
Anyone know if theres a way to lock the preferred network and apn settings?
enter apn settings, then REBOOT phone. After that, enter *#*#4636#*#* into phone dialer and go change to LTE/CMDA/GSM. that worked for me, I just needed to reboot my phone for the apn settings to work

Mine works until I reboot. Then it changes back to WCDMA. I'm on Telus.
LTE on canadian i747M (Rogers)
I had similar issue with LTE after flashing to AOKP rom. The fix provided by AOKP (after every reboot, type in *#*#4636#*#* and flipping the network type from WCDMA to LTE_only, then flip to LTE/GSM auto(PRL) ) works. LTE will show up as 4G. I have the 2012-09-30 AOKP build installed.
Yesterday all of a sudden I could not get LTE anymore. Not sure what happened as the only thing I did was to activate a new account on Google. Anyway the 4G/ flipping did not work anymore. Reflashed the rom several times, still the same issue, my phone will not get LTE/4G.
This morning tried the following and voila it worked, thought I will share this:
Flip the network type to LTE Only, there is no connection, REBOOT the phone.
1. After reboot, flip the network type to LTE Only again, this time, the connection worked - what a surprise/thrill.
2. Flipped the network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL), connection was ok and 4G came on and stayed on. Did several reboots and repeated 1 and 2 and LTE/4G was ok.
Hope this helps.
I don't recommend you to use task aokp rom! You won't get LTE real speed and Dev won't help you since you are not an at&t user! He couldn't care less about the rest so try liquid jelly bean which is a lot faster and better or milestone 4 and aristodemo! They have better support although they are tw rom but worthy anyways

Task compiles that ROM based on AOKP source, but AOKP officially doesn't support att. Although I didn't have problems getting lte on his ROM the fact that you have to set it every time you reboot is why I am using cm10 for now otherwise it's a good ROM!
I'm having the same issues on my rogers branded s3. No matter what I do I can get lte to even appear. My apn auto rolls back to the provided apn and if I delete that I have no data at all. Hopefully this does have an answer because the Rom is amazing

Alright I think I have it figured out. I added the rogers APN related all others and the only change I made was I removed the info under APN type where it said internet+MMS and left it blank. Saved the APN rebooted and I have lte now. I even rebooted my phone and each time it boots up its showing 4g without having to play with any settings

Hello,
I'm having an issue with the rom I have (AOKP Ktoonsez) when I turn on data I get H+ at the top. How do I get LTE? I went into that menu by putting in *#*#4636#*#* in the dial pad and putting it into GSM/LTE, but I still get H+. I'm with Virgin Mobile Canada. Here's my APN info:
Name: Bell
APN: pda.bell.ca
Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
Port:80
Username: Not set
Password: Not set
Server: Not set
MMSC: http://mms.bell.ca/mms/wapenc
MMS Proxy: web.wireless.bell.ca
MMS Port: 80
MCC:302
MNC: 610
Authentication Type: Not set
APN Type: Not set
Anything missing? This rom does have LTE and I went into the FAQ page, the dial pad method was the only way we could turn LTE on. Thanks.

In the *#*#4636#*#* menu under phone information, try setting it to LTE only and see what happens. I keep getting H+ or less on my CM10 rom unless I do that even when I'm in an LTE area.
Make sure you have LTE/HSPA enabled in Settings>Wireless and Networks (More...)>MobileNetwork>Network Mode. Sometimes when I flash a new rom it changes. I have it HSPA only because saves battery.

When I set it to LTE only, I lose signal to my carrier does that mean anything at all? And for the options under settings I only have a choice between two, GSM/WCDMA/LTE and GSM/WCDMA preffered.

Also a Virgin Mobile Canada customer and my S3 has NEVER said 4G or LTE in the signal bar.... H+ is what it displays on stock touchwiz, AOKP CM10...
I'm a Virgin Mobile Canada customer as well. I've set my preferred network type to LTE/GSM auto (PRL) by accessing the "Testing" menu (dial *#*#4636#*#*) and have selected LTE/GSM/WCDMA by going into my mobile network settings. The only two modes I can select from are LTE/GSM/WCDMA and GSM/WCDMA preferred
I've noticed the following:
-most of the time I'm on either the HSPA or HSPA+ network
-there are times at which my notification bar shows 4G (which I assume is LTE) but it definitely isn't as frequent as when my phone was unrooted and on stock
-this one is weird: occasionally I lose total mobile and data connection for about a few seconds and a "warning" icon shows up in the top left corner of the notification bar. When I expand notifications it says that the connection to the VIRGIN mobile network has been lost..or something along those lines. I'm usually able to reconnect automatically within a few seconds but this is definitely a weird one since I've noticed it only after flashing Task&Ktoonsez AOKP. Anyone encounter anything similar to this?

Hmm maybe this is just Virgin Mobile problem? Thing is the ROM I was on before, (Team Insomnia JB Touchwiz) it showed 4g when I turned on the mobile data but I was getting no where near LTE speeds. I also tried switching to LTE mode and clicking the LTE APN and reboot, but all it does is go back to WCDMA Preferred mode. I got a SIM replacement from Virgin Mobile but still no luck after this.
EDIT: I think I got it, if you recently were on a Virgin Mobile Supertab or changed from an older phone that didn't have LTE, make sure that Virgin Mobile systems know that you own a Galaxy S3. I went into my Virgin Mobile "My Account' and it showed my phones it only listed the HTC Legend I had few months ago, but not the S3 itself, and beside it saying this device runs on a HSPA+ network. I'm getting this fixed on Monday so I'll see what happens then. If somebody can do it sooner though if they have the same issue, that would be great too.

To do this you also have to set the phone and mms APN. I rememebr a few times on my Note getting it to switch and stay after switching APNs to phone then choosing wCDMA otherwise it just goes back to LTE. PTA will lock you to LTE. Also it may lock to LTE in the radio load.

Hey guys, if you would like the correct HSPA+ APN to switch to on AT&T, please see my signature and use the APN in the OP of my thread.
So I've been using my Galaxy for a bit, and after flashing a few ROMS my mobile data, is only able to pick up EDGE, which is a pretty big deal for me.
It started yesterday when I flashed CM10.1 and then AOKP. Those were both fine, I was still able to get 4g with them, then I came upon a ROM on here that suggested I format my system before installing. So I did that, and ever since then I have not been able to get more then EDGE. I have since returned to stock rom and other roms and they all yield the same result. I have noticed my IMEI was at 0, so I did end up injecting that, but still nothing. My signal strength right now is at -59 dBm. And unfortunately my Mobile Network Type reads: Edge:2. I can provide you guys with different details such as my APN and all if you need.
I also tried my SIM card on my other phone and was immediately able to get LTE on it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So you've checked that recovering your IMEI was successful and is now displayed? You said you've also made sure your APN settings were correct, right? Do you have the "data enabled" checked and the 2G only unchecked (in mobile network settings)?
Correct, I injected my IMEI and it is the same as on the inside of my phone and it shows that in my settings. My APN settings are correct, I found the LTE settings here and tried them and still nothing. My data is enabled and 2G only is indeed unchecked.

Well I went to the link. I believe I was already on the latest modem, so I decided to flash the one above which would be the second newest. The only thing it changed was now instead of EDGE:2 as my mobile network it sasy GPRS:1
I;m not sure what to make of that.
I have somewhat made process on this issue. When I first turn on my phone my Mobile Network Type is UMTS:3 and I am able to get a 4g symbol but the signal is at -113. This is only when I enable mobile data real quick after putting on the phone, if I don't do that after a minute it will change to EDGE;2. The problem is there is no service with it turned on and my asu is at 0. But when I turn it off the signal immediately gets better and I get asu's.
Hi, guys I recently ran into an issue with the build prop modification in regards to network selection. If I enable the network selection as pointed out in one of the other threads and select LTE /CDMA my phone will lock on LTE however no phone calls can be made out or recieved. I had to reflash to 10k then reroot and then change the build prop to CA/TLS and finally hardreset via stock recovery. Anybody else have this issue?
UPDATE... looks like as long as i dont try to make a call the option to switch it back to auto is still there. One a call is attempted and fails the option to set to auto disappears.
