[Q] Adding Fonts - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hopefully this is in the right place... Just looking for some clarification. I downloaded a font pack with almost 500 fonts. I have my T Mobile GN3 rooted so I copied all of the fonts into the /system/fonts folder. When I did this previously on my Galaxy s3 the fonts I added showed up in the settings when I clicked on font. Now when I go into settings and font on my GN3 the newly added fonts do not show. Is there something else I need to do to get them to show up in my font list under settings? Any help is appreciated! Thanks...

I installed a bunch of fonts via apk files, and after they installed I went to settings and fonts. They showed up there, but when I tried to choose one I kept getting an error that they were not compatible. They all worked on my GSII, so I think it's something built into the phone preventing us from using them normally. I installed iFonts from the Play Store, and applied them with that. That worked. They even show as "current" in the phones settings, so I have no idea why the phone by default won't let them work.

Anyone have any clue as to how to get them to show up in the setting font list?

Default Galaxy S font?

I've changed the system font on Galaxy S, and now I want to go back to default stock font, but I don't know how. I've changed the font using Absolute System app, and I'm running Rooted Froyo JPO. Does anyone know what's the name of the default font that comes with Samsung Galaxy S, have a download link or know how can I change back? I have tried factory reseting my phone but the default font is still rewritten.
I would really appreciate your help. Thanks.
Go to settings-display settings-font style (first option) and check default.
Hope that helps.
Arial? Just a guess.
I've got it. So the default font for the Galaxy S is DroidSans_Stock_Font, I've downloaded it and installed it using the same app I used to change the default font. Good thing to know, If you mess around with fonts that you can always restore it to the default.
Thanks everyone.
Hello,
When I send an email from the default exchange email client the received message on the recipient is Courier New.
My SGS is Froyo 2.2 JPO.
Is there any way to change this font type to Arial, 10 pt, and blue for sent items ?
Thanks.
font changer from the market .

Chose the thinnest & most different one, Samoled screens have a burning problem.
Thanks for information on both of you.
Works fine now.

Font Change

Usually when I root my phone, I download Absolute System and use it to change the font, it seems that it won't change the font on my rooted CDMA Galaxy Nexus... Anyone have an idea?
P.S. The only font I've seen affected by Absolute System on my Nexus is the Facebook app font for whatever reason.
No ROMs
Just unlocked and rooted
ROM Toolbox will let you change the fonts and many many things besides. I have tested this on SGN running 4.02

Thanks ROM toolbox is one of the best apps I've ever seen!
I used rom toolbox to change my font and it works just fine, but it doesn't change the bold text. I then went into preferences and checked for it to replace Roboto-bold.tff and when I reboot, it gets stuck on the boot animation. Anyone else experiencing this?
I would also like to get more info on getting font packs to work completley with ICS as the fonts in rom toolbox do not support bold or italic
You can easily change fonts... just replace the FOUR Roboto font variants in /system/fonts with yours... set permissions to rw-r--r--.

Font packs before ICS won't work well, I think. They only had normal and bold, while ICS also has italic and bold italic.

YES!
I tried twice, once with Font Installer app, got stuck. Then, I tried manually by just replacing the files with Root Explorer, got stuck again on boot animation.
Did you manage to work this out?

[Q] Custom non-SmartWorld fonts with stock font changer?

It's great that there are OEMs like LG that provide this level of customization out of the box. The option that sounded the most interesting was the ability to change fonts without using root methods. The only problem I've found is that all the fonts one can download from SmartWorld are pretty hideous.
I know I can change the system font with several root apps, but this method is sketchy and was responsible for bricking one of my phones in the past. The SmartWorld fonts are installed as an APK if I'm not mistaken. My knowledge of how APKs are structured is fairly limited, but I was wondering if it would be possible to decompile one of the font APKs (if necessary. Again, not incredibly familiar with them), change the font file to a custom one, and install it on the G3 in a way that it would act like any other SmartWorld installed font and can be selected from the Settings > Display > Font type menu.
TL;DR is it possible to install a custom, non-SmartWorld font as if it were from SmartWorld and use it with the stock font changing settings? Thanks in advance.
I would love to know this as well.
UPDATE:
I used to use ifont on my GS4 but it wouldn't work on my LG G3. It used to cause boot loops but apparently they must have fixed and made it compatible and now it works flawlessly.
Please hit the thanks if I have helped you.
Me too having the same doubt. Since the SmartWorld fonts are working well, so the other fonts can also work with some customizations.. I hope any of the developers will come forward and do it..
Can someone upload a font apk from smart world? Trying to figure this out now.

Fonts not applying everywhere

Hi there,
I'm using my g3 with stock marshmallow (but it was even was like that on lollipop), not rooted. I like it the way it is, but I've noticed, that using the default font manager does not change the fonts everywhere, like on other phones.
For example: I change the font in the settings and open whatsapp, then there's some mixture of fonts. Names and messages are displayed in the default font, but the message preview is in the new selected font.
Can somebody tell me if there's anything I can do about it, except rooting it?
I know how to root, but since it's my companys phone I would like to avoid it.
Thank you

Themes

Anyone knows if we can modify themes via the phone files or maybe even create one ? The theme market s*cks so bad and wich i could implant an icon pack. (I miss nova launcher for that feature)
Thanks ?
You would think they have some kind of theme maker since they have a theme store on the Chinese version. If you look at .NubiaTheme/theme_infos/using/icons the icons file is just a zip file with the icons in it. Maybe they can be changed in there. And also take a look at description.xml I would but don't have time at the moment.
Icons seems to be packaged in a root file. Cant open. Description xml is empty ??*
Rename icons and add the .zip extension then you can look what's inside. Also use a note editor of some sort to read the xml files.
I use the theme apk and downloaded one of the free themes. It put the them in .NubiaThemes/theme_infos I was able to change the wallpaper and icons and went back into the theme app and was able to apply the theme with the new wallpapers and icons. So by doing this you can make your own custom themes.
I found out you can change other things like the background of the dialer, messages, etc... But need the xml config file from a theme that has the items listed so I know what I can change. And you can preset your fonts in the xml also. I've tried all the free ones they have so far and there pretty much the same, different main background and icons. There has to be a default file that has that info in it. I will try and guess what the config is maybe I will get somewhere.
Ok cuz even my friend who creates themes for android is baffled.... xD
Download activity launcher and search Nubia theme within the application. That allows you to change to nubias provided themes
Here is an idea of what you can change
Im not talking about simply changing or mixing themes. Talking about edit the xml file to be able to change every color, menus or icon the way you want.
??*?
i replaced most of the icons and renamed them to match the apps and all but a few worked I did about 30so far Im still needing the names to a few like the playstore etc...
So what i did was took the icon folder renamed it to icon.zip then uncompressed it removed all the icons so I could get an idea of the names of them and one by one replaced them.
Then I zipped the res folder thats inside of icons and named it icons.zip , renamed it to just icons remove the .zip and copy back in the theme folder where it came from. Change to that theme and your icons will be changed.
So here is an example I wanted to change chrome's icon. I found the icon I wanted to use and named it com.android.chrome.png put that in the icon folder and your done now you have to go in and replace each and find the names of them.
Here is a screen shot of mine changed but the playstore and some google apps I havent worked on yet.

That folder is empty for me ?
Make sure you have the theme.apk from the Chinese phone version installed. Then go into the theme store and pick a free thrme down load it and it will show up in theme_infos then you'll see a folder with a bunch of numbers and letters. Just pick one and that will be your theme you will make the changes in . When you change the preview wallpaper it will show like that in the store also of themes you own.

Alright. It worked. Like you said some app will not work but most of em does.
But we now miss matching icons for other apps ? guess i can extract icons from an icon pack and pick from there.
On the other hand, i really like the dark grey and red themed international defaut icons. (Someone who have so time could create an extra alternate edition international icon pack that includes more designs for other apps, hey we can dream, right??)
Thanks for the know how ! Its appreciated.
Almost every icon can be changed, but somehow some of them just wont work. (Calendar, Clock, Pool Break Pro and Textra) All the other ive tested works. (104/108apps)
That looks good.
