[Q] What is Clean Install?

Hi all
When all we have problem when installing a new rom, or system becomes unstable, everbody answers as "make a clean install".
But What is Clean install?
I'm entering recovery mode and doing,
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache
wipe cach partition
With Clockwork Recovery mode.
What should i do more ? Is clockwork mode a problem ?
What m I doing wrong ?
Forgive me for my english

I'm kind of wondering about this myself.

a clean install is wiping all data from phone b4 flashing. do these steps.

1. wipe data
2. wipe cache
3. goto advanced and delete DALVIK CACHE.
4. then flash your rom

Ermm Guys I hv a few of prob Yesterday Im going to flash a Endroidx II rom For Samsung Galaxy wonder After flash i reboot from recovery and then he Stuck at Boot Endroidx II logo Then How to fix Guys?help me need i wipe data and cahce or what? or fix permission

for me..every time i flash rom,i wipe data,cahce,dalvik and fix permission..no problem so far..

Did you wipe everything before you flash ehndroix rom from the previous rom?

when that was happen for me i format all sys and sdcard EX.card every thing then wip and setup the rom again .. it's working .:highfive:

Try to flash it again but first wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache and format system
After all wipes and formats... flash the zip file.... if the boot loop reoccur just wipe data/factory reset and it will work ok... Remember the first boot is always long.... wait!

Wipe all.
Copy the zip in the internal memory and flash from this. Don't place zip in the sdcard.

i just tryed installing the experia nexus rom and am constantly stuck in a boot loop any help would be appreciated

also i fixed the boot logo issue but now i dont understand why the rom is not working,
also when i clear my cahce i get an E: is not mounted error if that as anything to do with it

Try to turn off the device and flash it with a clean stock rom,root it,and try to follow what tutorial to install the custom rom...

i have the weird thing is i still get the error even when i try to wipe the dalvik cache on the stock rom

Are u using the correct recovery??

Wipe data/factory reset.
Wipe cache
Wipe dalvik cache
Format system ( only if you have flahed the right stock kernel for the rom, and have the rom on your sdcard ready for flashing )
Fix permissions
Then flash the rom again. Should work fine then. Read and follow the instructions on the Rom page and you should be fine.

with philztouch installation ROM & restart phone, not installation ?

2-I9082ZAMF7_ODEX.zip installing update,
3-Install from sdcard completed,
4- Reboot completed,
5-Boot screen, "SAMSUNG GALAXY GRAND DUOS GT-I9082 " write & not installation, ı dont know what is problem? Plz help !

Can u tell me what is 19082amfz_odex. Zip... I don't think it is rom as it is stock and also odex is written so it's not at all custom rom then what is it??

Bootloop help

I am stucking at bootloop while flashing RR 6.0 with kernel 2.zip(provided in thread ).my steps
Wipe cache delvik cache system data
After that flashed kernel and then ROM and gapps(I tried without gapps too). Then delvik cache and my phone did not boot for almost 15-20 minutes. I tried 3 times but I am still stucking at boot. After flashing also tried factory data reset but no success. Please help me

Did you format user data? ( not wipe)

Yes tried with format and wipe too

Did you flash firmware?

No. I flashed kernel 2. Zip which was recommended in the thread of mix 2

Mate you have to flash firmware with the rom.
