At least a few times a day my phone will stop receiving data when on Wifi. When I toggle it off and back on it starts working again. Does not appear to be an issue with my network as other devices still can use it without any issue. Additionally, 4G will do something similar when once in a while and toggling it off and back on usually fixes. Anyone else have similar issues?
Yes, I have similar problems

It is so annoying having to turn WiFi off and on all of the time because it stops working.
Data also turns on randomly sometimes, anyone else?
I have not had any issues with 4G at all. Wifi used to act up on me, but I have not really had many issues since I checked "best wi-fi performance" in settings. Maybe just a coincidence. I never had to stop and restart wifi though, just some quick drops.

I've been having a problem on all of the recent nightlies, and i know lots of people are having the same problem on the CM6 RC2, where turning off the screen puts the wifi to sleep, even when you have the wifi sleep policy set to "Never".
I noticed this when i started trying to stream music from Grooveshark or Subsonic- if i turn the screen off, the song stops a few seconds later, presumable because it has run out of buffer.
Is anyone else still having the same problem? Does anyone have a workaround for this?
edit: it seems to have no problem staying awake on my home network, but my work network is where i have the problem- could it be something about the wifi network that is doing this?
well, strike that- i'm encountering the same problem on the 2.2 stock rooted ROM as well. it appears to be a problem with the wireless network here at work.
I might have left my phone screen on at home, which would have let everything buffer, preventing me from noticing the problem there, but i'm pretty sure the wifi sleep policy works correctly on my home network. Very strange.
This is easily reproducible for me as well and only started happening with CM6.
for me this happens on every rom, even stock. there has not been a day i've gone to bed and woken up 8hrs later with my wifi on.

I'm glad I'm not the only one- though it seems to happen more to N1 owners, it seems this is happening to android users all over the place. From everything I've read today, no one can figure what causes it- there's no rhyme or reason to it. For me, the wifi sleep policy works correctly on my home network, but not my work one.
I read a post from a week ago somewhere that there was a fix coming from broadcom (those are the same people that are responsible for my router's wireless N problems with DD-WRT), but I don't know if that was referring to a Nexus One specific fix or a fix for all android phones.
I'm glad at least my wifi sleep policy works correctly at home, but the fact that, for some reason it doesn't work on a different network is extremely annoying.
So yeah, I have been noticing that my Desire running on the latest MildWild software (and Cyanogenmod 7.2) for that matter has been trouble keeping it's connection constant on Whatsapp.
Basically, it stops 'reporting' when it comes to 'last seen'. Sometimes I have to turn off Wifi (It is mostly on Wifi, can't recall it being the same story on 3G but I think so too) to fix the connection. Other times it just reconnects after a minute.
This happens when the screen is turned off and back on.
It's getting a kind of annoying and I have no idea where to look. I've checked my modem and router and both are fine.
Anyone else with this problem? Any ideas how I can fix this? Also, Wifi Sleep Policy has been set to 'Never'.
the same galaxy s3

Has anyone else experienced any random reboots or issues with the device obtaining an ip address?
My wife and I each got an optimus g the same day. Mine has rebooted at least 4 times and I've picked it up to find it powered down at least twice. Three of the times mine rebooted my wife noticed that her wifi had disconnected and would not reconnect (so it seems that my reboots are somehow related to wifi?). I've also had the wifi dhcp issue a few times. I've asked my wife multiple times over the last few days about her wifi and it has only disconnected the times my phone rebooted.
My hardware is just the standard Bell FibreOP wireless router. No other devices are showing any problems and I have many devices in the house.
I had some random reboots, but after update they gone.
But, wifi doesnt automatically reconnects when the signal is lost, dunno why.
I've had random reboots. No issue with wifi.
Rooted running The Base .7.3

Ive also had random reboots though I don't know that they're related to wifi in my case since.. when mine reboots I'm usually in a typical window such as email, a website etc.. in most cases I'm not even using wifi yet something still triggers it to reboot at random
Oddly enough I never experienced it rebooting until after I had rooted it so maybe that's related??

I think that was a software bug, cause its gone after update for korean optimus G.
Before, phone was used to randomly reboot while listening a music with screen turned off.
I don't yet have any random reboots, but if I restart my phone, it loses the WIFI password every single time. Either that or it just forgets the network as a whole, which is why I need to re-enter the password.
Either way, it's pretty annoying.

I second that, same problem, really annoying especially since I have a pretty secure password at home lol.
After reading around the internet I'm finding that I'm definitely not alone in having my G3's Wi-Fi quit working in the last few months.
They are dropping like flies.
Has a fix been found yet that I'm missing?
Wi-Fi option in settings is grayed out in on position and the phone lags like crazy. Bluetooth seems to suffer the same. Often the mobile network connection fails to connect as well.
Restarts, battery pulls, safe mode, nothing helps.
Phone was perfect until 4 days ago. Nothing was installed or updated.

Take it to a techcian get it repaired not much of an issue its hardware
Hi everyone,
I have 2 Galaxy S8+ from Verizon and here are my issues:
Past issues:
One of them did not come with the Galaxy Apps store (Not the plays store), and that phone also experienced the DQA issue
Current issues:
If I turn on Fingerprint gestures, the fingerprint sensor will stop working, this was an issue I had from the day I got the phone and has continued even through the updates. Here's a thread I made about it a while ago : https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s8+/help/fingerprint-sensor-t3595614
My internal speaker has detached, or at least I think that is the issue, as sometimes when I am in a phone call and shake the phone just a little bit, it will either start making a weird buzz sound or completely cut off the sound. Shaking it again will fix it, that's why I think it's a physical issue. I haven't dropped my phone and just in case I ever do, I have a case and a screen protector on it, and neither of them (phone, case, screen protector) have any damage marks on them.
The Biggest Issue: Currently this is the most annoying bug I am experiencing is that whenever I go to lock screen and security in the setting app, it crashes the settings app. I also can't use the search function in the settings app, as it crashes the app withing a few seconds. The lock screen and security is the only menu in which I experience this, I am 99% sure this is due to me turning on Secure startup. I had it turned on a few days after I got the phone and it worked great, I had to turn it off once, about a month ago in order to get a quicker boot. After that I was experiencing issues turning it back on (meaning I turned it on, rebooted the phone and it would not work) , after some persistence, I was able to get it to work and it has worked and still works.
One thing to mention is that I had done the most recent system update, I am not sure this issue was caused by at, since the inability so search in the setting menu has happened prior to the latest update.
I have tried everything other than a full factory reset (wiping all cache, wiping apps cache, reset setting, reset network settings), which I refuse to do, It is absolutely unacceptable for me to pay this much for this phone and have so many issues with it, I have factory resetted my phone (Samsung's recommendation) in order to fix the first issue listed above, multiple times and it did not work.
At this point I really don't know what to do, Samsung support has been useless in this, I don't wish to replace my phone right now as I need it to much to even give up for one day, If anyone has any advice/fix other than factory resetting, I'll happily try it.
Thank you,
GGgamer16
Sounds like a factory reset is needed. I just tried all you mentioned with zero problems on the newest update w/ navbar options and experienced none of that. Speaker problem is most likely hardware related.
Anyone had any luck getting rid of the wifi disconnect? The issue where wifi disconnects showing a ! next to the wifi symbol on the status bar?

You try changing your WiFi channel? Using 5ghz or 2.5ghz? I use Wifi 100% of the time I'm home and never have any issues with disconnects.

Yeah I have tried changing channels. It didn't matter. I'm on 2.4 GHz.
I found a possible fix from another forum. I changed my wifi encryption from wpa2 AES/tkip to wpa2 tkip only last night and was rock solid after that point. I didn't have any more wifi issues... Just wanted to mention this change for other people. I usually got 5+disconnects every night. I'm gonna try just the AES option tonight and see how it acts.
