[Q] Bootloop help - Verizon HTC One (M7)

I've been hitting boot loops left and right. After beups s-off method, I succesfully flashed custom recovery and a ROM, but I accidentally flashed an international version of a kernel. During the aroma installer it froze and I restarted the phone, but now it will not boot normally or into recovery. I've tried to flash the stock kernel but I still can not get into recovery. Any advice? I've tried different recoveries and erased fastboot cache before each flash
Any help would be greatly appreciated

Flash andybones bone stock rom and see if that boots. Also, make sure wipe boot in recovery.

I did a factory reset through the fastboot, reflashed the recovery img and wiped the recovery cache and it allowed me to run cwm. Then, since I was having issues mounting, I used CWM's sideload program in their recovery that allowed me to flash roms without having to put them on the SD card. Where are you stuck at?

In bootloader I clicked Factory Reset. It tried to load into recovery then looped again. I went back to Bootloader Flashed recovery Img and its still doing the same thing. How did you wipe cache without loading the recovery?

During installation of ARHD Rom I suddenly got caught up in CWM Recovery mode. I have now tried to wipe system and everything and do a "restore" of my NANDROID backup without success. My question then is; how the hell can I push a ROM to my phone with the phone only in CWM Recovery??? I'm kind'a desparate!!!

Try restoring your nandroid backup, just remember to flash the boot.img
Sent from my fauxed HOX running ARHD 8.0.0
Did you flash recovery to the boot partition? (fastboot flash boot recovery.img)That could explain why it only boots to recovery. Try flashing recovery again (fastboot flash recovery recovery.img.) then the boot.IMG (fastboot flash boot boot.IMG )then the Rom.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
I've already tried that, I've even tried going to advanced restore -> boot -> restore boot without success..
BTW; I've now managed to push a new ROM onto my phone, installed it but still it won't but other than to recovery!!!

Seems like it did the trick rayford85.. Nice to see the bootanimation on my HOX again! Stupid step to forget (flashing the boot.img) LoL! Thank you rayford85!
Reusing this post to another dumb question... Everytime I reboot my phone it seems like the boot.img disappears because I have to ./fastboot-mac boot boot.img for every reboot of my phone!
Any good ideas of how to solve this?

Xperia S wont load! HELP!

i decided to unlock my bootloader on my already rooted phone to try out some new JB roms. I installed Sspeed kernel and RecoverX which was fine then I followed the instruction to install the latest PACman rom by wiping all the caches and the system in recovery before flashing the rom. Problem is I accidentally left out the flashing and went straight to reboot phone. NOW THE PHONE WILL NOT GO PAST BOOTLOADER ANIMATION.
I tried using flashtool to flash stock rom. The phone is connected in fastboot mode but will not flash! PLEASE HELP!
Many thanks in advance!:fingers-crossed:

To flash stock rom you need to be in a flashmode, not fastboot.
Ive done that few times just install any kernel via fastboot, then you will be able to go to recovery its just that recovery is kept in system partition, so you wiped all the system and recovery flash any kernel that has recovery build in, and you will be good to go

Screwed up my One X

I tried installing a custom rom today and I think I messed up really bad, because my phone does not get pass the boot screen and I cannot enter the recovery setting. I think I messed up after entering
fastboot flash boot boot.img
in the command prompt and restarting because I forgot to put the rom zip on my phone. Since then I could not get pass the boot screen and even tried running a backup using CWM, but it didn't help. I then managed to mount my phone and put the rom onto it and installed it, but again it didn't help.
Now my phone can only enter the bootloader, I select hboot and fastboot, but nothing else works. Everytime I select recovery or factory reset I get the htc boot screen and it gets stuck. Does anyone have any solutions?
Thanks
did u backup your phone rom???
if you did u can go to recovery and restore it
and never try to change rom again trust me in that
otherwise i can't help bcuz i did the same mistake
I did make a backup, but like I said I can't enter recovery anymore, so I can't load the backup.
Thanks for trying to help anyway though.

What HBOOT version do you have and what custom ROM are you trying to install?
edit: you didn't need to restart after changing boot.img cause in Recovery you can just go Advanced and then mount USB and copy the ROM or whatever files you want that way.

I have hboot 1.39.0000 and I was trying to install the latest cyanogenmod cm-10-20130106-NIGHTLY-endeavoru.
Yeah I realized this after I restarted and did it get the zip onto the phone. I think I installed it, but the phone is still stuck on the boot screen
UPDATE: Okay I've managed to install CWM recovery, so I think I'm making progress
You had to flash CWM again? Odd..
Anyway, if you happen to encounter the same problem with CM10 I suggest you try some other custom ROM.. Just make sure you "fastboot flash boot boot.img" and then "fastboot erase cache", and if for some reason you decide to format the sdcard or simply forget to add in the ROM zip, you can do it in Recovery when you mount the device as USB under Advanced options. Best of luck!

Yeah CWM didn't load up, but I got it working again. Well it seems I'm back to getting the rom to install and being stuck at the boot screen again, so maybe I just need to use a different rom. Thanks for the help though
Okay, I've tried installing a few roms, but unfortunately I'm still on the boot screen, I can sometimes even reach the cyanogenmod boot screen, but get stuck there. I've read that this might be kernel issue, does anyone have any ideas?

[Q] boot problems cm11

im having problems upgrading to cm11 i already know how to wipe data, cahe, dalvik and install the roms the problem is it boots then on the cyanogen logo it freezes then reboots and keeps doing it ive tried factory reset redownload the rom and gapps but nothing seems to work
i am clockwork recovery 6
cm11
gapps 4.4.2 core 1-16
What exact version of cwm do you have, also try flashing the boot.img on the phone. Extract the zip, find the boot.img and place it in the root of your platform tools folder on you're computer, boot into fastboot on your phone, initiate the command: fastboot flash boot boot.img
It will send the boot. If you're on Mac do: ./fastboot flash boot boot.img
If it is a confirmed write of the boot.img, reboot the device.

S-off or s-on? If s-on I would suggest flashing the boot.img via the command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
You say you can get past the boot screen of CM 11? Its more than likely you need to flash the boot.img in fastboot.

VM 816 won't boot into recovery

Hi, I'm having problems booting into cwm recovery. Every time I select recovery in the bootloader it just goes back to fastboot usb mode with the options for HBOOT, RAMDUMP, ETC. I've tried reflashing the recovery and it's not doing anything different. I can't get my phone to boot normally either.

Clockwork Mod. I was running cm12 and was having some random reboot issues and decided to back to cm11 but while attempting to restore the backup I kept getting various "E:Can't Mount/cache/ recovery/log" or various can't mount errors. Attempted to wipe the cache and flash the latest CWM recovery and that's where I am right now. Can't boot into CWM essentially stuck in the bootloader.

If your using CWM 6.0.4.7 from the official thread then this will cause the reboot to bootloader no recovery issue.
If you use the CWM 6.0.5.1 in Grarak's CM12 thread it will fix your issue of it not booting into the recovery.
Its because on the first flash of the recovery has some weird glitch and it only works with that recovery on the first boot into a custom one.
After you get into it though you can flash any recovery you want from any of the threads from the 816 Forum eg. Philz, CWM 6.0.4.7/8, & TWRP (but twrp has issues).
Also, if that doesn't work then can you let us know if you flashed any custom ROMs, if your running one, or if your on stock?

You could try reflashing the boot.img in fastboot of CM11 if it got past /data & /system when restoring or CM12 if it gave an error immediately when trying to restore.
Then follow with the recovery.img via fastboot.

I have the exact same problem. I was running the CM12 build and it crashed and put my phone in a bootloop. CWM Recovery loaded initially, but it could not write to the system.
I flashed the stock recovery you listed, and it just says this and restarts:
Code:
(bootloader) [PGFS] partition_update_pgfs: pg1fs_security
(bootloader) Lock successfully...
(bootloader) TZ_HTC_SVC_DISABLE ret = 536739196 (0x1FFDFD7C)
(bootloader) Start Verify: 3
(bootloader) WARM RESET: 8
(bootloader) [INFO] Reset reason in IMEM is 0x77665501
(bootloader) [INFO] Rebooting device
FAILED (status read failed (Too many links))
finished. total time: 1.051s
Pressing "Recovery" and "Factory Reset" in the HBOOT screen just flashes the HTC logo and returns to Fastboot.
Any help would be appreciated.
